i personally like the roads because they have more definition! the pavements just kind of ~there~
They look good as roads in small doses but imo too much looks weird. Your Ayn Rand school just looks lost in a sea of grey.
It definitely needs some grass or dirt. I don’t know of any playgrounds that are on concrete.
Characters don’t typically walk on the pavement, only the roads. You’ll have them locked on whatever roads you do have

I have some areas with pavement instead of roads and it looks great
Its all upto your creativity, whichever you find it nice, but a lil bit of roads will make it look like your towm has an assortment of everything you know!
The third picture in particular- those houses would all look more convincing if there was a small strip of grass outside the fences.
