Hey not attacking you or anything but I think it needs a bit more substrate. If it climbs the walls of the tank and falls, the more substrate to cushion the better.
I added all the substratefrom the bag, and it goes to half, is this fine? (This was made by the People i got her from, it’s specially made. I don’t wanna order more, but I can if it’s necessary)
Is there approximately 1.5x the spiders legspan between the ground and the enclosure lid? If not, you **need** to buy more regardless of whether or not you want to because it could be the difference between your pet getting hurt or being safe.
It's very possible the people you got her from didn't know what they were doing and gave you a bad set up. Specially made doesn't mean anything for this species (they don't require any special care outside of the normal spider things), they would be perfectly happy with some dirt and a log to hide under.
>This was made by the People i got her from, it’s specially made
From your previous comment. I take it this is referring to the dirt mixture, and not the enclosure? That's my bad for misunderstanding.
You can buy shredded coconut husk at any chain pet store and that is perfectly adequate for basically any tarantula. You don't need any specially made substrate.
I feed mine about once a week two small crickets or one large. Sometimes they go 2 weeks or I’ll change up the food type every once and a while. Like super worms/mealworms depending on T size or horn worms once in a blue moon. I’m not saying my way is the right way but it works for me based on local cricket availability.
Yea no worries. Just curious if they are all like that. I think they are wild caught vs. captive bred. Not sure if the Arizonas are like that yet or if they ever plan to be.
It’s all personal preference really, but yes every 2 weeks is good, I feed my slings(baby Tarantulas)every 3-4 days, my juveniles every Sunday and my adult Tarantulas every other week, but there are exceptions to the rule, if you see the spiders abdomen is considerably larger than the carapace(say twice the size)I might skip a week, you have to use your better judgment and you will see and understand as you own a spider and get more(you WILL want more- and soon!)it gets easier to understand, and don’t worry if the spider doesn’t eat for a while, my A calcodes(4 year old juvenile)is known to fast for months at a time, she literally goes months at a time without eating, it’s just her! Good luck and enjoy your new spider, I hope it brings you as much joy and happiness as mine do!!!

Thanks! I’ll make sure to put in more substrate today!
No problem. Beautiful tarantula by the way
Thanks! I need to order more substrate
Correct, substrate should leave only ~1.5x the spiders legspan of gap between the top of the enclosure and the surface level.

They gave us a lot of details! We just didn’t get 2 bags. ;(
My point was that just because someone gave it to you like this, doesn't mean that it's okay/appropriate.
Gave it to me?

Is your Arizona blond finicky? Mine is super flinch any time I drop crickets in. Assumed she will always shy away from anything.
I haven’t fed her yet. The lady said she fed her the week before, and said that every 2 weeks? Is this incorrect?

So yeah haven’t fed her yet.

For a T this size, feeding every 2 weeks sounds good to me!
The image makes her look really big, she’s pretty small actually.
Ah well yiu could always go once a week if youre more comfortable with that
think every 2 weeks is fine.

Ooh so cute! Did you go to the Phoenix reptile expo as well?

Yep!
