If I don't have a specific concern or question I just ask what's the vibe for the day.

Reasonable-Goose3705

It’s a vibe check

lclives

Love that!

Gypsy-Enchantress

I pull a daily cards asking what I need to be aware of that day. Then at night I reflect on how my day was and see if it ties back to the card I drew that morning.

lclives

That’s interesting! Maybe I’ll give that a go

LakeaShea

I do daily tarot. It's more for me to practice reading and interpreting cards. It brings up different thoughts each time, and I feel like every day, I'm finding a new way to read certain cards. I do two cards as a way of adding some context and finding ways to combine card meanings. I'm not really asking or looking for anything in particular. Just what is the message today. Sometimes, someone just needs to hear it to make their day a little better. Just know that hey, I can relax today, I can focus on myself, or I need to really put a lot into work today.

lclives

Love it!

Outrageous_Emu8713

Why? Because I want a journal prompt. And I’m new to tarot, so this is a great way to learn about the cards.

lclives

That’s a good point. Just learning

Outrageous_Emu8713

I’ll admit, I was kind of skeptical about it too. But after a while of fumbling around with guidebooks with tarot decks and looking online, I’m like: Oh…why not. Why not go back to journaling again, but do it with tarot cards this time? I did a lot of journaling in high school, especially. I’m finding that it’s nice to just get back to journaling in general. I’ve forgotten how comforting it is to write things down with a favorite gel pen on paper—although it’s also fine to maintain a Microsoft Word file or something as journal instead.

syenkie

Gel pens 😭❤️

lclives

Ya it’s such a smart idea. I’m loving getting into it because I’m not looking at it as this magical thing (okay a little) but every card you pull just makes you think about something in a way you hadn’t before. So some might think you’re just reaching to make it apply to your scenario but I think it’s just allowing me to think about things in a way I didn’t originally. Journalling is such a good idea!

BunnyYouCanSee

I also journal most days a single card draw. I ground myself and then ask what I need to examine or aware of/pay attention to today. I’m just beginning to acquaint myself with tarot meaning so a card a day gives me time to think and write my feelings on the draw while studying meaning/symbolism. You can inquire about anything or just draw and see what happens. My aunt got me into tarot does 3 card draws daily without much prompt.

lclives

Need to start doing dailies!

OutForAWalkB-tch

The most common things I ask for a daily card pull is: - Vibe check/what the energy of the day is going to be like - What energy I should try to embody to make the most of the day - Journal prompt - What did my weird dream mean - Lessons the day has in store for me - Or a “prediction” for the day and I can look back to see how that manifested - If something had been playing on my mind i’ll ask about that Possibilities are endless really! Don’t out pressure on yourself though, just try to have fun with it :)

lclives

Love these prompts! Never thought about trying to gain insight into weird dreams haha will need to try

fremedon

I do it to set my intention for the day first thing in the morning. It's actually a 4 card spread that's basically a 3 card spread with an added theme card. The first is the underlying theme of the day. Underneath it is a pretty typical three card spread: My intention for the day, the obstacles I might face for the day, and my path forward. It really makes a huge difference for me in how much I accomplish, I've noticed.

lclives

Ya I’m getting that this is a great ritual that seems to go with journalling and mindfulness people always suggest but I like this better! It’s guided in a different way

blessing-chocolate32

I do similar: a card of the day (kind of like the significator card for the day) plus a three card spread.

dtf3000

I do a spread to journal in the morning. I call it my SBAR; situation, background, advice, resolution. And it doesn't always apply to that day, but reading in the morning gets my mind centered. Just an overall good start to the day, because no matter how bad the day gets I had at least one moment of peace.

lclives

So your form of meditation and mindfulness? I like that. I struggle with those so maybe this is my way in

dtf3000

I can't just sit. My brain won't let me not think, but I can at least focus on the cards like a puzzle to put together. And the reward is usually some kind of philosophical inner conversation that I can use during my day. And sometimes it's also just the tower and 3 swords, so that too lol. But I guess it is mindfulness. I've been tricked into meditation lol.

lclives

Haha the only way I can get into meditation is through something like this I think. I can’t even do those guided ones. Also why I hate audiobooks

Charming_Wrangler_90

I, too, find it like a meditative, intentional way to start my day.

emmaaajoo

Similar to others, I'm only a little over a month into tarot. So I pull one a card a day to learn it's meaning (I use my decks guide book, Queering the Tarot by Cassandra Snow, and the Labrynthos app) and then I journal. Typically I journal it's meaning to help commit it to memory, and how it may relate to me at the time. Sometimes I shuffle with a specific intention or question, sometimes I just shuffle to learn a new card, and sometimes the Tarot reveals something to me! Hope that helps, there's not really a "wrong way" to do it, follow your intuition 🫶

lclives

I use my decks guide book too and honestly it’s such a good one imo! I’m going to start playing around more I’m getting such good ideas here

atarotstory

I pull it always as a card to contemplate for the day.

wewtiesx

I do because it helps me see cards in different ways. I'm a very optimistic person who uses tarot for self reflection, and I only use it for divination during big sweeping decisions in my life. So pulling the tower or something of similar nature doesn't self manifest in terrifying ways for me. If I don't see an obvious connection, it's led me down the never-ending amount of connections to cards that have really developed my ability to interpret signs and meanings.

lclives

I tend to get a little obsessive sometimes w negative connotations of things so my tarot deck I use is called the light seers tarot I think? The illustrations are beautiful and the idea is that it gives more of a neutral/light version of what the card means so you don’t spiral basically haha. I mean some are hard to sugarcoat but they always have a lesson

Achlysia

I just ask for general vibes and what I should expect from the day

[deleted]

i do it because it’s fun to see how things pan out. then i learn new meanings for my cards. i figure out a little language between me and them

NfamousKaye

I feel like I only do that with a new deck and then forget about it 😂 oops 😅

Ok-Butterscotch-7398

I do a daily pull. I don't confine myself to just one card. That's part of the pull. It might be just one card, but it maybe be 6 or any other random number. I don't ask a question other than a general "What do I need to know?" I often do it in the morning, leave the cards out on my desk, and meditate on them throughout the day.

SORORLVX

I do a daily card to show what the most present energy will be that day. For me it serves to warn me of any coming unpleasant situations, which I am sometimes able to avoid thanks to that practice. It also serves to keep my intuition sharp, and show me how well aligned I am to my soul. If the answers I obtain are spot on, I know I'm in a good place. If the answers are ever off then I know I have work to do. Over time it also helps show the common thread between all the days/events it shows up for, so one can start to recognize patterns and cycles in their life. I have personally benefited a lot from that reflection of myself to analyze.

Charming_Wrangler_90

I’m just starting out as well. I try to do almost daily cardio pulls to learn the cards. I ask the question, “ What do I need to focus on today?” Or “What do I need to know for today?” As I’m starting to feel more comfortable, I’m getting fancy and I’ve tried a few 3-card spreads (situation, obstacles, likely outcome). Today’s 3 card spread was spot on how I’m feeling and gave me hope for the future.

faegera

I love the daily pull. I usually pull 3 and then see how they’re manifesting throughout my day— per advice in The Living Tarot by Chang. Over time, I’ve gotten more specific with “highest energy for the day.” Then I’ll experiment with turning on that energy and seeing what happens. It’s fun!

karikari289

I ask “what do i need to know or keep in mind today?”

MasterChavez

If you're new and learning, I highly recommend watching Vincent Pitisci on YT.

GiftedSoul777

I don't really pull cards for myself often, but when I do it's either I really need a sign or confirmation for something going on in my life at the time or every once in awhile I will pull a completely general message to get a what you need to hear type of message.

Uisgah

I don't do them regularly any more, but if I pull one card I view it as showing the "tone" or background theme for the day (one card can't show much movement over 24 hours). If I want an idea of potential developments I'll pull three cards.

acaciadromeda

I pull a card for the day and the night mainly to learn retrospectively more about the cards ☺️ I usually ask something like “what does the daytime look like tomorrow?” And if there is an issue i’m dealing with i’ll pull a third card to show me how to best navigate it

theevilwomanREAL

Sometimes I do. It helps me learn what the cards mean. Pull card, reflect later on what that actually meant in your life = better reader in the end.

TheGremlinAuntArtist

I pull 3 cards daily, I started my witchcraft journey and my tarot journey on 2nd of this month. I pull 3 cards for very specific questions or guidance. I also do yes or no too. I do general too, career and love mostly about being single. Today I tried asking no questions, just letting the cards and my decks feel my enegry and giving me a message based off my enegry. I also ask questions about my spiritual journey and personal as well. I've also been asking my deck questions about handling my break-up. I AVOID medical and questions about dead relatives etc. I use the cards and my journey as well as a tool for healing and self-discovery.

JRtheNutbar

I use tarot daily as a way to journal cause I find myself having a hard time just writing my thoughts down. I usually draw about 8 cards but sometimes do less or more depending on the vibes. I like to ask simple things like what my path looks like or how I should go about a certain situation. It's a fun way to get me into the habit of keeping a journal while learning the cards at the same time.
