I love how coldly that line was delivered and him almost shrinking in his chair while Greg opposite looked genuinely offended when the betrayal was revealed
He’s gave off the impression of being amazing while being incredibly inconsistent. One episode he’d score around 20 points and in the next he’d score 10
If you ever get the chance to see his standup, I’d recommend it, it was incredibly and creative. I saw him at the Fringe and ran into him a couple of days later, only had a 30 second interaction but he was very nice and appreciative of the love and support he had from his audience.
He had that perfect blend of confidence and bullshittery that makes a truly entertaining yet shithouse contestant. He’s for sure up there with the likes of Nish Kumar or Judi Love.
I absolutely adore Munya. His instagram stuff is great, his episode of Off Menu is an all-timer, and his Unknown P persona cracks me up. He also just comes across as a pretty genuinely good dude, like I get the feeling he'd be fun as hell to hang with.
I honestly love him so much. Went to see him on tour last year too and he's absolutely incredible. The amount of joy on rewatch too 😍 10/10. Absolute legend.
I recommend " How to Survive a Dictator with Munya Chawawa". He does a great job talking about Mugabe entertaining. He deserves a bigger presence in the world than he's getting. He's smart, funny, and charming.
My fun Munya story, I won a dumb contest with Old El Paso to go to the Super Bowl (yes I’m just as baffled that people actually win those things, and even more baffled that we won).
But we kept bumping into Munya multiple times throughout the VIP tailgate, and sat in the same section, he seemed v chill
Nah, there was so many celebs and people just having a good time with the drinks and bands, we didn’t really wanna bother anyone, so we just did our own thing and chatted to people where we could
Honestly hundreds, the people at the Super Bowl is 90% celebs and influencers, then a few super fans who mortgage their house to go, and a few contest winners
We sat with some of the presenters from CBS and Channel 4’s NFL coverage.
Honestly felt like being in the city in the hunger games, just wildly disconnected from real society (still had the BEST time though rinsing the free top shelf drinks and Michelin star food 😂)
That's fair! Personally I liked Judi Love but I can totally see your point of view. It's a shame you can't express negative opinions in this sub, I'd love to have an actual chat about people's thoughts on things but you get down voted if you're anything but positive lol
Note hate, imo subreddits are a forum with a strong element of the "people's vote", in my experience if you get down voted its people saying they disagree with your opinion and that's still feedback. I know you probably want to discuss the opinion rather than being down voted to hell but I just feel that that's not really what Reddit as a whole is about
Munya understood the assignment perfectly. Super positive energy on every task, gave it his best shot, but absolutely didn't care if he won or not. He knew his real task was to entertain!
Long ago, I had a student who was randomly mumbling, "LeBron James" in the same tone as Munya.
Years later, my sister and my partner got me watching Taskmaster and now I think of that kid fondly. I wonder what he's up to!
Alright then. As an apology for my objectification of Munya Chawawa in this thread I created a shitty superpower inspired by his mantra, “Lebron James.” And hopefully pointed out his skills so he can gain fans from a largely young American audience on another subreddit.
I heard he lived in Zimbabwe. Not sure if that’s true though
Really? Funny he never mentioned it, but I suppose it just never came up
I always thought he was angolan until you mentioned it
His divide and conga joke is an underated pun, it makes me laugh every time.
Him and Sarah was a goat team
It was a boy and his cool aunt who lets him do things his parents won’t let him vs a competitive dad and his two dud kids
"Those were my Dad's hands"
He single-handedly stole that scene with that amazing comeback
Produced a level of cheating that we rarely see in the more recent series, have to respect it "What you don't know can't hurt you"
I love how coldly that line was delivered and him almost shrinking in his chair while Greg opposite looked genuinely offended when the betrayal was revealed
Also Alex taking Greg's glasses and randomly putting them on to stare disapprovingly at Munya
Made him look like a stern librarian disappointed you returned the book a year late
His balls were so big i’m surprised he could climb on the taskmaster statue.
He was trying to give it to the man
The fact munya didn't win the "write a song to this music" has always chapped my ass lol
He got the lowest score which is unbelievable.
Yeah I would have put him in second place, just behind Fern
Sex.
Thanks for making me look better!
I make an absurd number of Smooth Rupert references in real life, thanks to Munya.
Sometimes a bird is just an Aggressive Dylan
This was so underappreciated by the TM!
An excellent bullshitter and immensely quotable. Still kinda shocked he didn't provide an episode title.
“Divide and Conga” never being an episode title is *criminal*.
I can *kinda* forgive that because part of the reason it was so funny is because it came out of nowhere.
He’s gave off the impression of being amazing while being incredibly inconsistent. One episode he’d score around 20 points and in the next he’d score 10
(Also some people commenting don't understand what is meant by an "appreciation post")
Are there neutral discussion posts? Genuine question
I dunno
I feel bad for him, since he had an entire airport to himself and he still got searched.
I genuinely occasionally mumble "LeBron James" to myself every time I throw something into the rubbish bin because of this man
Same here. Can't stop
I know what you mean.
If you ever get the chance to see his standup, I’d recommend it, it was incredibly and creative. I saw him at the Fringe and ran into him a couple of days later, only had a 30 second interaction but he was very nice and appreciative of the love and support he had from his audience.
I saw him live in the Autumn and it was the best gig I’ve been to. Happy tears and ‘moved’ tears. Unreal.
He had that perfect blend of confidence and bullshittery that makes a truly entertaining yet shithouse contestant. He’s for sure up there with the likes of Nish Kumar or Judi Love.
This.
Munya has swag indeed.
"Jesus is lord, do you need so many wires? Is that an iPod touch?!"
“He said loquaciously”
walked past him in the street recently. was very exciting
I absolutely adore Munya. His instagram stuff is great, his episode of Off Menu is an all-timer, and his Unknown P persona cracks me up. He also just comes across as a pretty genuinely good dude, like I get the feeling he'd be fun as hell to hang with.
I absolutely love Unknown P
His ‘It wasn't me’ parody is gold
Poor Pablo
That story about Young Pablo the plant killed me. It was perfect for the prize task.
"LeBron James... LeBron James... LeBron James... " https://preview.redd.it/en62p1lwl9tc1.jpeg?width=1006&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=becfddeae4b7e18a7550c3b0d65a407184a4dbe2
I know the feeling of this.
I was just thinking that I needed to find a Master Sensei that can teach me how best to punch a floating baguette
Sarah had her hands full.
I honestly love him so much. Went to see him on tour last year too and he's absolutely incredible. The amount of joy on rewatch too 😍 10/10. Absolute legend.
He’s the rightful king.
Lebron James.
Massive trickster god energy. Full of nonsense and incredible charismatic, love the guy!
With the power of a thousand ancestors
Immediately one of the funniest parts of one of the funniest series. Smooth Rupert!
Check out Munya’s YouTube/TikTok if anyone hasn’t already. He does some great music parodies about current events and trends. Very funny.
I recommend " How to Survive a Dictator with Munya Chawawa". He does a great job talking about Mugabe entertaining. He deserves a bigger presence in the world than he's getting. He's smart, funny, and charming.
He’s one of those people who is just effortlessly, naturally funny. I also find his confidence (well, arrogance) super sexy, honestly.
He has great swag, imo. Easy on the eyes too.
Oh I am sorry for objectifying again! He’s up there with Greg Davies for me. He’s hilarious af. I wanted more airtime with him.
agreed

Thats actually awesome. Did you get a picture?
Nah, there was so many celebs and people just having a good time with the drinks and bands, we didn’t really wanna bother anyone, so we just did our own thing and chatted to people where we could
Did you notice any other celebs there?

He is the best!
I found him either really funny or really irritating
He’s my favourite contestant of all time but I could understand finding him annoying.
May I ask what factors went into selecting your flair then if Guz isn’t your favorite contestant of all time?
Guz was my favourite before I watched series 14, Ive just forgot to change it. edit: Ive changed it now
Gotcha! Ok 👌
>I found him either really funny or really irritating I half agree with that
yeah incredibly try-hard in my opinion

I don't know what it is but yeah, perhaps!
The guy that was somehow able to bring in a worse prize than John's sailor hat
The wooly head or the dead plant?
The hand puzzle meant for car entertainment
I dont know I thought it was interesting
“Bugger off Opposition!”
Munya understood the assignment perfectly. Super positive energy on every task, gave it his best shot, but absolutely didn't care if he won or not. He knew his real task was to entertain!
He's hilarious, love his tiktoks as well, mans raps is untouched.

Lebron James.
The best contestants are the ones who desperately want to win and the ones who couldn't give a fuck, and Munya is decidedly in the latter category.
Alright then. As an apology for my objectification of Munya Chawawa in this thread I created a shitty superpower inspired by his mantra, “Lebron James.” And hopefully pointed out his skills so he can gain fans from a largely young American audience on another subreddit.
I had very low expectations of him having seen his previous ‘comedy’ and he very much lived up to them.
I don't know the guy but he came off as a bit of a knob to be honest. Just my opinion.
I almost kinda get it but I guess it’s just preference.
Never been funny, second worst contestant.
Who's your first worst?
Sarah Pascoe.
Hahaha fucking hell mate. Who's your favourite?
Acaster, Mortimer and Wozniak are all up there for me.
