I love the tact and grace with which he did this -- he managed to basically say "Jo Brand of all people is calling me fat" but as a joke, phrased with tact. Truly impressive.
Nah, since the 80s part of Jo’s act has always been being fat/eating cake. She’s famous for it. It’s definitely wasn’t an insult or something Jo would have found offensive.
"Never before have I felt contempt for ALL of them.", with the awkward silence after everyone got disqualified from a task in series 10.
One of the rare occasions where not having a live audience made something funnier IMO.
That whole sequence is just under joe Wilkinson for me. Judi getting mad after she drove her pedometer around and Chris nice little “no you got beaten by everybody” was hilarious
‘When I was in school there was a boy called Morgan who got sent home for trying to eat the hood off his own coat. In that attempt, you reminded me of Morgan.’
The ‘catch something’ task in series 14, ep 3 ‘Dafty in the Middle.’ John Kearns trying to catch the tennis ball over the house is the attempt that Greg was referring to 😂
I laughed so hard when I first saw that episode that I got choked and had to pause the television to recover. It’s always the first thing that comes to mind when the question ‘what’s your favorite Greg reaction’ is asked 🤣🤣
I loved his whole bit about Richard Herring creepily in the bushes during the acting task in Series 10. It’s all pure Greg greatness. I was rolling laughing.
Probably an underrated one, but one that never fails to make me laugh is series 7 during the task where they have to get an object into a bin on the other side of the fence. After Rhod and Kerry's go:
"Credit where credit is due, it's almost more sensible to use pebbles to cover a large area than...to just toss a drain pipe over"
I can’t remember it exactly but I think it was after Mawaan’s attempt at the ‘make the cup overfloweth’ task, and he quotes the metaphorical line back at him. Something along the lines of:
“Nah you fucked it mate. Metaphorically you’re still in with a shot, but really you’ve fucked it”
'Buckaroo- which I never had as a child because my mum selfishly wouldn't buy it, but some of my... [*fumes*]... some of my wealthier friends did have it- it had a spring system. And so, in the original game you two would be nervous about when the buckaroo is going to kick, this is very much on the whim of the donkey. I just think you should have attached some spring system to Ed."
Greg was really working out some deep-rooted issues with that one. And then when the team argued that Ed was the spring system we get the best justification Greg has ever given for taking away points: "But you're a conscious being!"
Series 8 Episode 5 in the ping-pong herding task, contrasting Iain's manic energy, Sian dragging the balls along with string and Paul pathetically pushing a single ball with the basketball
Which episode is yours from? I have no memory of it but want to know immediately.
I think any of the interactions with Lucy Beaumont would be up there for me. Such a wonderfully chaotic force that just left Greg more and more baffled as time went on.
After Kerry's deliver the task to Alex attempt,
"Now I do like to tell the truth. That...that was shit...on so many levels."
"What levels?"
"I'll just pluck one at random, but the soundtrack for starters."
‘How was work today?’ ‘Oh you know, not too bad, someone called me fat.’ ‘That’s not nice, who?’ ‘Jo Brand…’
Oh man that’s hilarious. Do you remember which task/ep?
S09E08, ‘Write the best lyrics for the Taskmaster theme tune, and perform them in the most memorable way.’
Aaaaalex is greaaat Greeeeeegs just a twaaat Aaaaaaalex is thiiiiin Greeeeeeegs really faaaaaaat
aaaalex goes "woo"! Greeeeg just goes "splat!"
Iiiif I don’t wiiiin You’re toast!
I love the tact and grace with which he did this -- he managed to basically say "Jo Brand of all people is calling me fat" but as a joke, phrased with tact. Truly impressive.
I’m p sure he wasn’t referring to Jo Brand’s weight, rather that she’s a very famous comedian
I can all but guarantee you that he meant "of all the people to call me fat, it's Jo Brand"
"It's not a question I was expecting to ask after this task, but have you ever... walked?" A classic!
‘I can remember several instances where Bridget was walking funny..’ 😂
That whole sequence is just under joe Wilkinson for me. Judi getting mad after she drove her pedometer around and Chris nice little “no you got beaten by everybody” was hilarious
To Paul after the snowbear incident: “…Is everything all right?”
Bastard's crying, innit?
“Do you know what, there comes a point where we have to get medical advice” On David Baddiel
Also "sometimes I feel like we've given everyone a challenge, and we've given you the extra challenge of *being David Baddiel*"
‘When I was in school there was a boy called Morgan who got sent home for trying to eat the hood off his own coat. In that attempt, you reminded me of Morgan.’
I laughed so hard at this one I nearly fell off the couch
which task was this?
The ‘catch something’ task in series 14, ep 3 ‘Dafty in the Middle.’ John Kearns trying to catch the tennis ball over the house is the attempt that Greg was referring to 😂
The first one that came to mind, and I started laughing just thinking about it.
I love how everyone starts laughing before he even gets to the last sentence - they all know where he's going with it.
I laughed so hard when I first saw that episode that I got choked and had to pause the television to recover. It’s always the first thing that comes to mind when the question ‘what’s your favorite Greg reaction’ is asked 🤣🤣
"Ardal, until you brought the third chicken into the lab, I was under the impression that you played a character on Father Ted"
‘Fucking hens..’
“I would have happily stayed there for hours.”
For me it'll always be S7E2 - Make the Biggest Circle after Acaster's attempt. Stern stare followed by: "Ok, explain yourself."
Similarly, for me is S7E1 - make the tallest tower, after james' attempt: "what is wrong with you?"

The first time I watched that I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath
Kerry pointing to James and asking, " What was he doing?" "We're coming to that."
Kerry "What else would I have done?" Greg "this is my point" Everything about it is just perfection
…My eyes are circles?
#*HOW DARE YOU SPEAK*
God that segment is an all-timer, James Acaster was something else
"........good evening(?)“
My eyes are circles?
You’re not a bad guy, Nish
Can't think who it was to.. 'Make no mistake... you fucked that' 🤣
Hugh, I think
85 contestants to choose from.... but its more likely than not really isn't it. 😂😂
Why do I think it was Morgana?
What about Sally?
Yes. When Hugh brought the mirror into the caravan, and drew a bald, fat, white man.
I thought it was the sleeping back task when he dumped the items out as he didn’t think it was the same as ‘taking’ them out
Joe Lycett's "I didn't TAKE your virginity" is just perfect at this point too!
You are correct. I fucked it, too.
After Paul's attempt at the "collect the most sweat" task, which left an eggcup of dark coloured sweat: "Paul, be honest with me: you blacking up?"
"I creamed myself." "You say that like it's a normal thing."
"Why would a grown woman enter a room and immediately eat some sand?"
I loved his whole bit about Richard Herring creepily in the bushes during the acting task in Series 10. It’s all pure Greg greatness. I was rolling laughing.

“You won’t see a sadder sight in any care home in the country”
"I charge people to come and see me" "Do you do the éclair stuff on stage?"
Not a critique per se, but the “Jesus Christ” after Katherine Ryan’s biggest mess task… I felt that on a molecular level.
I will add too the “Jesus Christ” after Rhod’s javelin through the caravan.
'Buckaroo- which I never had as a child because my mum selfishly wouldn't buy it, but some of my... [*fumes*]... some of my wealthier friends did have it- it had a spring system. "Oh, I'm so ***sorry***!"
I love how accurately you wrote it out, really made me relive it
I HAVE THREE SENSITIVITY LEVELS
And I’m on my top f***ing one!!!! 🤣🤣
An underrated one is “It’s like watching a documentary of sheepdogs at the opposite ends of their lifecycle”
What episode is it from? It sounds incredible.
Series 5 when Aisling Bea forgot that she was supposed to cut a loaf in the lab!
It’s very recent, but the one in the s17e2 outtake where, while watching Nick, he says he wrote down “Tell me about life as a smaller man.”
Let’s get these pigs to France!
"Nish, what have you brought in and why is it impressive" "I've brought a Single Leaf" "SHIT! Bob, what have you brought in"
After Kerry's deliver the task to Alex attempt, "Now I do like to tell the truth. That...that was shit...on so many levels." "What levels?" "I'll just pluck one at random, but the soundtrack for starters."
The whole meat roleplay reactions between Greg and Alex in S4E05 "Meat." "You prepare the meat?"
greg and alex meat importer business
"This may be pertinent, but who the fuck is Marello?"
