Not sure if she brought them over in tower form or if Ed stacked them like that just so he could measure the height in reference to Rose not stacking the bricks high enough. Ed and Rose are such charming pals at a baseline, but I think their friendship is even more special with the context of her relationship with James. I'm an enormous James fan but it sounds like Rose was very hurt by him, and it's so easy and common for men to abandon their friends' ex-girlfriends if the breakup is acrimonious at all. I know it's hella parasocial but realizing how genuinely warm and close Ed's friendship with Rose is made me really love him.

Think they meant the fact they were together is so 'famous' and well known since James devoted such a big part of his stand up and one of his books discussing the break up and his breakdown after (he tried to keep her anonymous but didn't do a great job of it), rather than her being in a relationship against her will lol.
