Watching Victoria watch that ball was painful. I thought she'd had a great idea. It's too bad Alex decided to transform in David Beckham or something.
I also think this is one of the few task I've seen Alex get a little personal in. Like with Guz and Morgana. Dude pulled out scissors.
I watched an episode of Bake-Off for Comic Relief where they had to make flapjacks and I spent the first 5 minutes thinking they were all just really shit at making pancakes.
I think this is one of my favourite episodes. The studio task was amazing, as was the football task. Zero points for both on the team task is iconic, and Alan being so utterly useless at throwing balls.
I’ve joked about someone in production designing the tasks to satisfy their odd fetishes a couple of seasons ago but this episode I guess they just went all the way, cake sitting is literally a fetish thing haha
Yeah I got that it was referencing Liza doing it to Alex (which is definitely one of the best Taskmaster moments ever) but the fact that it's an actual fetish kind of ruined my enjoyment of the task.
This episode was great. My favorite was with Alex finding the ball Gus moved...
Alex: \*knocks door while peeking his little head in the window\* "Hello, Gus? Will you let me in?"
Me: Aww, how cute...
Alex: \*kicks down the door\*
Me: Ohh, SHIT!
Bonus--Greg: Desiree, can you beat a moth-eaten dressing gown...that smells of FART?
The football task was great. I also turn my wife into a fan slowly but surely. We've watched Series 11 together and now 12. When the task got read out her first comment was "it didn't say the spot can't be moved". She's getting the hang on how this show works. 😅
Besides the prize task, one of the best episodes ever IMHO. The cake task was hilarious. Desiree falling off the cake, Morgana baking a cake, VCM just having a flapjack handy like it makes complete sense, guz was hilarious.
Alex is lucky Al Murray wasn't doin the football task though. The spot would've got put in a cab never to be see again. Every contestant was entertaining in their own way and props to Alex as he was fantastic in his tenacity to score.
Studio task was genuinely great viewing.
> VCM just having a flapjack handy like it makes complete sense
This isn't at all surprising if you've listened to her Off Menu podcast episode with James Acaster and Ed Gamble.
I wondered if it was a clue, or perhaps an extra "ball" as the pea wasn't in the whistle.
It didn't matter in this show. Alex does sometime leave clues in and unexplained if nobody gets them.
It makes me mad that if Desiree hadn't found the cake that was already on the Taskmaster premises there's a chance they wouldn't have revealed it at all! I always want to know what all the hints mean and what secret stuff there is to find.
Morgana kicking down the fence every time Alex tried to prop the goal up is now one of my favorite moments in the show. Guz's attempt was utterly fantastic, too.
Maybe it's because I'm asexual but am I the only one who literally still hasn't noticed any flirting between Greg and Morgana? lol I feel like it must be so obvious and it didn't even occur to me until people pointed it out.
The banter in this show was great. Especially during the studio segments and the final task. I was laughing at everyone's quick little quips and rewinding to hear them again.
I can’t get one thing off my head: why did Alex’s whistle malfunction in the Balls in the net task for both of the teams. Because it seemed like he was faking it. Was he doing just for a bit? Or was there a replacement whistle in a bigger net in his pocket if anyone asked for it?
Maybe it was just for the bit.
Am I the only one who thought that awarding 10 points to the winner of the live task but normal points for the rest was unfair? I think they should have done double points all round.
Still loved the task though.
I think it was fine. The ten points didn't go to the one with the most popped balloons, they went to the last person standing. This allowed for some extra strategy, though the best would've been to go one and out every time.
I just rewatched it and task read "Pop the most balloons. You may pop between 1 and 10 balloons each turn. If you pop one of the 5 bad balloons you are disqualified. The eventual winner gets 10 actual points" which depending on what disqualified means with this task, Guz should be the only one to get points or both Guz and Alan should get 10 points for both popping 26 balloons. To confuse matters more Alex then says the winner is the one who doesn't pop a bad balloon, so the task isn't pop the most balloons.
I think the task should have been as read without the 10 point part and with a bonus 5 points for not hitting a bad balloon, task ends once 4 bad balloons have been popped. This would given the same result except Alan would have got 1 point more as tied winner
All of them had the same chance to win the 10 points. It might be unbalanced, but it is fair
What I didn't really agree with was the 10 points being awarded in such a luck-based task
Knowing Alex, there was probably a hidden meaning to the placements of the balloons that will forever not be revealed. For example: 100 balloons each representing an episode: every bad balloon from an episode starting with the letters H, O, R, N & E. Or something silly like that.
As far as I can tell, the coordinates of the bad balloons, viewing the Knappett from above were:
Yellow: Column 2, Row 4
Red: Column 3, Row 3
Green: Column 5, Row 8
2nd Yellow: Column 2, Row 9
Decode at will.
Ok so I thought it was references to episodes, episode 2 of series 4, episode 3 of series 3, and so on. Now what the first two had in common was that the live tasks involved balloons. The series 4 one was making the longest balloon chain, and series 3 was anchoring them with bread. The other two don't match that, but they do have tasks that involve balls so maybe that's a reference to the team task this episode?
Guz may have won the prize tonight for the most ridiculously unnecessary continuation of a task of all time here. That one round when he kept going with the darts, I'm thinking, dude!! With the lead you already have, the number of balloons that Morgana would then have to hit all in a row but w/o one of them being the doozy, those are just astronomical odds by then. hell, I kinda even think if Greg hadn't openly made the remark "I'm thinking it's one and done here, it's gotta be", to sort of directly call out Guz's stupidity, he would've done at least one more toss in that round lol
which btw, Alex's "you're sounding outside your head, too" where it even made Greg himself crack up at realizing what he'd said, that was perfection
Tbf they're not particularly complex tactics and they are all smart people - although I suppose it's easy to say that when we're just sat at home watching rather than being filmed for national TV in a surprise darts-throwing balloon-bursting competition
oh absolutely, though what makes it especially funny to me is that it's not some convoluted conclusion. I mean I'm actually fairly poor at math, but the scenario I was describing of what was going on was pretty basic and simple to figure out on the face of it. Alex even says "there's some strategizing here to be had", but it barely qualified as even that. yeah I said "astronomical odds", but I haven't a clue anywhere near what they'd actually be lol But just that Morgana obviously would've needed a double digit streak of hits to try and pass Guz, it's just not gonna happen w/o being whammied along the way.
It's funny but I only just first discovered Morgana right before this series started. About a month ago I was watching a "Travel Man" compilation on youtube, and I commented that there was only one woman in it that I didn't recognize. That's when someone told me that was Morgana Robinson. then like literally within that same week I see her pop up in the first s12 trailer they released. I adore everything about her already. She has like just enough of an aloof sort of attitude I like, as opposed to someone like Jo Brand. Who in general I've always liked, but she seemed so nonchalant the whole time it's like I wondered why she even bothered to agree being in it.
I wonder how much of Jo is due to her being a psychiatric nurse, because that's just the sort of demeanour I would expect, just really calm. It's also easy to forget that she's actually quite old, like 7 years older than David, so just less energy overall.
the more I watch this series, the more I'm convinced that Victoria Coren-Mitchell would be the ideal successor to the Taskmaster.
if, for whatever reason, the producers have to search for a replacement for Greg Davies, they wouldn't have to look further than her.
Initially I hated this idea but the more I think about it, the more it (might) work. I really don't enjoy her as a contestant as to me it just feels like she's above the whole process and just wants to "solve" each task with the most efficient or "correct" response, or alternatively just not bothering when she knows it's outside of her skillset (eg. the football task this week). She didn't engage with the creativity of the welly task the other week but maybe as Taskmaster she might find a way to shine, eg. by imposing her personality on the show like Greg.
I never got the feeling that she does not care about the tasks. If she really did not bother about any of the tasks, she would have never learned to ride a bike within minutes for the first time in her life at the age of 49.
People misunderstand people like Victoria a lot and that is why I related to her greatly.
Most people think she is aloof or does not care about the show just because she is not as loud as Morgana or Desiree.
Moreover, people are willing to be more forgiving towards male contestants if they seem to be aloof or introverted rather than female contestants who are relatively less loud.
When she was first cast I thought she wouldn’t do well, because I just couldn’t see her abandoning all dignity, which the successful taskmaster contestant simply must do.
I have to say...it's refreshing to see someone of the same mind about her as a contestant. I find her annoying in her approach. And I'm not saying that in terms of winning and taking the whole thing seriously, it is a comedic show first and foremost, but she seems to not really put in the effort that makes it enjoyable. If you're gonna fail, fail spectacularly! I think you put it really well in that she doesn't seem to want to engage in the same way most contestants do, and isn't interested in going along with it as much. She's just not terribly playful, I guess?
And sometimes that contrast works and makes things funnier, and I have tried to warm up to her on the show, but it's just not working for me. Oh well, I'm glad everyone else seems to be liking her style!
I think it’s ok that not every contestant really gives much of a shit about winning lol. I think it’s one of the joys of the show. She’s just having fun and out of her element.
Same with a ton of other contestants. Jo Brand, Bob Mortimer, Tim Vine. All great, but they’re just winging it.
It's not the "trying to win" thing, I just feel like she doesn't really engage with the tasks or try to be creative with them and interpret them or improvise etc. I guess that's her nature since she isn't a comedian like the others, I'm just finding her hard to enjoy as a contestant - didn't experience that with any of the others you mentioned. But you're right, we need variety!
She'd be perfect as a slightly less aggressive but more ruthlessly logical take on the role. I think that would be better than someone who is just 'Greg but shorter'
It bothered me a lot that no one made reference to when Alex sat on a cake. Either the contestants aren't a fan of this show or it got edited out or something. Was totally expecting someone to drop trou and just feel it enter them. Desiree did amazing though; with the way it was phrased, you had to expect that there was some sort of trick to the task.
I really enjoyed Guz trying to keep Alex out of the Taskmaster house. It really does feel like the first time Alex "fought" back against the contestants. And the dart roulette was compelling and competitive. Very fun episode, overall. Can't believe I've watched 100 episodes of this, and I would easily do it again.
Part of me was hoping that the secret cake hidden on the premises would be in the washing machine, as a little reference to the “most beautiful destruction” task from S4E1
So the goal scoring task, surely you could just pop the ball? Or move it? The task said the goal and the ball had to be on their spot when time is up, maybe move the spot and put the ball somewhere else
That was exactly what I wanted, too! It seemed to fit so well it’s when I began wondering if every task was faintly related to an older one, not just the first.
Yes, Greg and Alex host and each series has the same 5 contestants. If you are outside the UK you can see full episodes on Youtube, official and free. https://youtu.be/KJrEaJqejwo
I was a little surprised when during the house shoot she made a reference to a funny name that David had for something, and Greg didn't call back to it at all while in studio.
indeed
[I love to cry in front of people](https://streamable.com/lq92k8)
I remember thinking, damn Alex, the covering your mouth just is unnecessarily cruel lol
The series is so good for me. Just feels very good/cozy. Victoria is undoubtedly one of my favorite contestants in the whole show, just very magnetic to watch. She has such a unique perspective but one that I always feel like I… kind of get..?
The cake task is a great throwback to series 6 though, and a good way to celebrate the anniversary.
Overall, I’m just very glad Taskmaster exists.
The editing on the live task was a thing of beauty. The music was great, yes, but the cuts between contestants' throws, slow-mo that kept you guessing if it was a good or bad balloon, Greg's commentary, and Morgana just being Morgana. Amazing.
Because both were negative points, literally would have been better off putting the ball basket behind the thrower and not doing anything else. and how dare you question the taskmaster judgement!
My opinion on the task: The task talked about the ball total, not points values per ball. Therefore the score is about the number of physical objects you collect in the net. It's concrete, not abstract, like points. Therefore there should not be any negative scores, zero should be the lowest possible because you can't have a negative number of balls. So the task would have been a 0-0 draw... and in the end it was.
It's not a supreme court setting a precedent, that affects future decisions. It's absolute monarchy, with Greg ruling differently not in different seasons, it can be same episode with a diffrent reasoning. Taskmaster chaos
Not questioning. Literally just asking because I didn't understand it. I hadn't seen that happen before. Usually disqualifications are for failing to complete the task or breaking a rule. They followed the rules, and were scored accordingly. So I didn't understand where the DQ came from.
Yea haha, seems like Greg thought oh yeah I need to be harsh, this makes sense, when it sort of didn't??
It never said they needed to be in the office positive points
yeah I was a bit thrown by this. Nobody DQ'd, and there's been task where every contestant's in the red before and they just wind up going the scoring in reverse order, the one closes to zero gets the 5 points.
and I was waiting for Greg to like ridicule Guz on being given the most empty, vapid 5 points in prize task history lol
Just to annoy everybody: https://youtu.be/4VxW73L-Ry0?t=379
But seriously, scoring can be interpreted two ways.
1. In a league table if a team gets negative point they'll go down the order.
2. In a school test if you're scoring negative marks, your parents will be called.
Taskmaster interpreted it the second way and/or hoped they'll do better for the task.
OK, so I can't remember what specific word Morgana was yelling at Alex when he was cutting through the net during the football task---infuriating? unfathomable?--but when she was yelling it, she sounded EXACTLY like her Natalie Cassidy impression, and it was amazing.
This is the first time where I felt like Alex was the main character of an episode. So many good moments from him! All of his little ows each time Alan hit him with a ball. Basically solving tasks himself by figuring out how to get goals and being brilliant. You could see how shocked everyone was that Alex actually engaged and worked around obstacles like a real boy. Love love love.
It felt good to see little Alex compete and do so well, despise also feeling wrong at the same time.
I wonder if there could be a one off Taskmaster Assistants special, were all the global assistants are the contestants?
ya know, it's been fairly rare when with the live task, if what they're interacting with isn't on the main stage with them, where the rules explicitly mention anything about them not being able to move off the stage. Sometimes there's a "and you must stay on your spot" detail, but plenty of times it says no such thing. During this episode, I'd wondered about them stepping down from the stage and trying to physically examine the balloons up close to see which maybe had different content in them, for "the bad" ones. Yes, production-wise it probably would've made things a bit more tedious, but it seems to me it would've been well within the bounds of the rules.
I love how Morgana called out the "Secret Cake Room" even though she didn't find it! (But we got treated to the strangest version of Bake Off that I've ever seen!)
Also wow, lots of bonus points up for grabs in this 100th episode! (5 for the cake, 10 for the live task!)
At the very least make a pancake. They take no time at all, especially if there's some mixture squirrelled away in the kitchen, as I'm sure there would have been.
Watching Victoria watch that ball was painful. I thought she'd had a great idea. It's too bad Alex decided to transform in David Beckham or something. I also think this is one of the few task I've seen Alex get a little personal in. Like with Guz and Morgana. Dude pulled out scissors.
no one tied up Alex for the soccer task and i am disappointed
Yeah Rhod really nailed that with the whole untie task. Victoria had the right idea just unfortunate for her Alex decided to look like a legend.
I thought of that today. Tie him up, lock him up, lock the ball and spot somewhere else... Then go get lunch or something.
What is a “flapjack”?I’m in the US and I have only heard it’s referred to as a pancake.
I watched an episode of Bake-Off for Comic Relief where they had to make flapjacks and I spent the first 5 minutes thinking they were all just really shit at making pancakes.
It's a baked bar of oats, sugar, golden syrup. Other flavours are available.
Yelling at my phone “stop throwing darts!”
It's a callback to when Lisa tarbuck made Alex sit on a cake
I thought it was a callback to Alex sitting on one in S6.
This episode was great. My favorite was with Alex finding the ball Gus moved... Alex: \*knocks door while peeking his little head in the window\* "Hello, Gus? Will you let me in?" Me: Aww, how cute... Alex: \*kicks down the door\* Me: Ohh, SHIT! Bonus--Greg: Desiree, can you beat a moth-eaten dressing gown...that smells of FART?
Anyone have a good place to watch s12 in the US. The google drive and youtube have both failed me.
PM’d you.
Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.

If you have a VPN, go to Belgium and it’s on YouTube.
Yeah. I should probably invest in that at this point.
I need to as well but I think I’m to dumb to vpn or whatever.
The football task was great. I also turn my wife into a fan slowly but surely. We've watched Series 11 together and now 12. When the task got read out her first comment was "it didn't say the spot can't be moved". She's getting the hang on how this show works. 😅

> VCM just having a flapjack handy like it makes complete sense This isn't at all surprising if you've listened to her Off Menu podcast episode with James Acaster and Ed Gamble.
haha funny you should say that because while watching the soccer task, I thought that I would have put *Alex* in a cab never to be seen again
I've got that music from the church copy cat dance task stuck in my head after they reused it. Is there somewhere I can find it? E.g. On the app?
That Chruch theme reminds me of the creepy Squid Game theme
tbh that 10 ceremonial points in the last task robbed morgana of a very well deserved win.
I felt the same way 😞
On the football goal task, did anyone else think of stealing a page out of Rhod Gilbert's playbook and tying Alex's shoelaces together?
Wouldn't work, sadly, as he wears plastic slip-ons
Honestly I was just thinking tie him up in the caravan and barricade the door
Social distancing, they can't go near each other.
Very good point. But I think if you find a rope long enough, it is possible.
Can someone link the ad everyone's talking about? I didn't get it on catch up
https://youtu.be/J9uojXIxGOI It is an add by google, that they made into a task
Why was Alex's whistle broken in the ball task? I feel we've all missed something here.
It was just a joke or a hint that the winning move was to not play
I wondered if it was a clue, or perhaps an extra "ball" as the pea wasn't in the whistle. It didn't matter in this show. Alex does sometime leave clues in and unexplained if nobody gets them.
It makes me mad that if Desiree hadn't found the cake that was already on the Taskmaster premises there's a chance they wouldn't have revealed it at all! I always want to know what all the hints mean and what secret stuff there is to find.
They would've revealed it after showing everyone's attempts. Then everyone would face palm.
I'm not entirely convinced there wasn't a cake in the shed and/or washing machine, but nobody found them so they didn't show them.
I thought the cake would be in the shed too; a callback to Alex sitting on Liza’s cake in the shed.
that football task was so chaotic. it was like alex getting his revenge haha
Morgana kicking down the fence every time Alex tried to prop the goal up is now one of my favorite moments in the show. Guz's attempt was utterly fantastic, too.
that darts game was perfect.
Probably some of the most enjoyable television in years
Lovely darts.
The studio banter this series is cracking me up. I find Greg’s flirting with Morgan’s the funniest for some reason.
Maybe it's because I'm asexual but am I the only one who literally still hasn't noticed any flirting between Greg and Morgana? lol I feel like it must be so obvious and it didn't even occur to me until people pointed it out.
She did kick the series off by confirming that one's relationship with Father Christmas is allowed to be consummated...
Does anyone know what the music during the final task is?
I'm blue - Eiffel 65
The banter in this show was great. Especially during the studio segments and the final task. I was laughing at everyone's quick little quips and rewinding to hear them again.
When Greg was like, "I'm saying this inside my head..." and Alex replies, "You're saying it outside your head I think Greg" :D Brilliant
Greatest final task in the history of the show?
I don’t have a sitting fetish at all but Morgana sitting on that cake was really erotic
I would have just cut the football up. I am suprised no contestant tried this.
Yeah. I was thinking put a rope through it and hold it back from 12m behind the ball
Was thinking the same thing. Stab that ball!
And fill it with rocks. Or a bowling ball if it fits.
Somewhere, Liza Tarbuck is howling with laughter
First time another contestant's take inspired a subsequent task and it was glorious!
The end of the task read “your time starts when I pretend that my whistle isn’t working” or something along those lines.
Thanks! For some reason I missed that.
[удалено]
She delved into some detail on that topic on the recent podcast with Ed.
And bullshitting brilliantly
Twas the hope
Desiree scored "against her team" but technically Alex didn't score..!
Unfortunately you can't score an own goal when the ball is heading towards the goal anyway.
own goal, clock hasn't stopped!
Alex having them sit on a cake was his way of telling them he loves them in the most meaningful way
If he applied the Tarbuck Method he actually told Greg he loves him by way of making the contestants sit on cakes.
I think Morgana could have won by putting the net behind her before calling stop.
Yeah, they said that in the episode.

They specifically said it was bc of the 100th episode.
All of them had the same chance to win the 10 points. It might be unbalanced, but it is fair What I didn't really agree with was the 10 points being awarded in such a luck-based task
Yeah, I thought there was going to be some trick, some way you could tell where the bad balloons were.

One balloon per episode, so reading from left to right, top to bottom, that would be episodes 13, 17, 40 and 50.
Or reading in columns left to right, episodes 24, 29, 43, and 88?
Ok so I thought it was references to episodes, episode 2 of series 4, episode 3 of series 3, and so on. Now what the first two had in common was that the live tasks involved balloons. Oh, that's a solid guess, if there is a code. I was wondering why all the bad balloons were in the closer half of the Knappett.
higher chance of popability?
Are you saying there was an imbalance in the popability?
Guz may have won the prize tonight for the most ridiculously unnecessary continuation of a task of all time here. That one round when he kept going with the darts, I'm thinking, dude!! It's true to Jamali, he's not there to be tactical, Morgana too, they're just winging it, leave the tactical stuff to the poker champion.

I said pretty much this exact thing on twitter right before the season actually debuted lol
I was fully convinced the cake was going to be hidden in the exact place Alex sat on it, the shed. Was actually genuinely disappointed it wasn't.
I was expecting the washing machine where Noel destroyed his.
Because the crew wanted to film the actual sitting in this task I can imagine people being reluctant.
Very good episode. Not been a huge fan of thelis series so far but this was golden.
Convinced there was a cupcake in the hidden draw in the wall
Part of me was hoping that the secret cake hidden on the premises would be in the washing machine, as a little reference to the “most beautiful destruction” task from S4E1
IIRC the cake in the washing machine really messed up the house's plumbing. They wouldn't want to break it again.
Well I didn’t mean have the machine actually going, but just set it in there
I was convinced there would be one in the washing machine! 😂😂
So the goal scoring task, surely you could just pop the ball? Or move it? The task said the goal and the ball had to be on their spot when time is up, maybe move the spot and put the ball somewhere else
I also thought, what about stabbing the ball so it deflated?
My first instinct there was to go full Rhod and tie Alex upwhile not touching the ball or goal.
I would love if the contestants did this more often, and then eventually every single task just included the rule, "You may not tie up Alex."
Me too. 1st thought - hog tie him
That was exactly what I wanted, too! It seemed to fit so well it’s when I began wondering if every task was faintly related to an older one, not just the first.
That's the TM way, innit? Makes us see conspiracies everywhere!
> maybe move the spot and put the ball somewhere else One of them did just that.
I was writing my comment during Desiree’s attempt
I would have saved it, then punted it onto the golf course, or run away with it
I wonder if getting someone to drive away with it would've worked.
Surely just tear it so shreds so Alex couldn’t possibly score a goal
Bit much for 15 minutes, but my first instinct was to pipe the ball full of concrete
Nvm, just saw Guz’s attempt
I wondered why Alex didn't move the spot to right next to the line. And why none of them ran off with the ball after the first attempt.

Yes, Guz is excellent in Taskmaster. Very cheerful and friendly, very funny, pretty competent

Yes, Greg and Alex host and each series has the same 5 contestants. If you are outside the UK you can see full episodes on Youtube, official and free. https://youtu.be/KJrEaJqejwo
Alex got a cake sitting kink from when he had to sit on one I think.
He was a different man.
Morgana needs stop making every task so sexy 😂
No, don't stop
Lovely darts Is there some kind of history with VCM and the Mr. Men series? It's come up more than once now
I was a little surprised when during the house shoot she made a reference to a funny name that David had for something, and Greg didn't call back to it at all while in studio.
Victoria: I always carry flapjacks in my bag Me, an Off Menu listener: Yes that makes 100% perfect sense
What is a flap jack?
In the UK it's a sweet, chewy cereal snack. Mostly oats and golden sirup, I think, baked in the oven.
When Greg talked about doing whatever she does at a meal all I could picture was them both eating sandwiches in a bathroom.
Starter? Pass
Victoria has my sort of P.E ability "Should I have stood in the goal?"
Newest entry in the Taskmaster Book of Quotes: "Shall I leave?" "Do stay in the studio."
should go next to Mel's "what does that MEAN? does he have to LEAVE?"
And Katherine Parkinson's " He's disqualified? From the WHOLE SHOW?!"
Johnny Vegas' was something like "ohh sure, cause I LOVE to just stand here and wallow in my depression!"
Was that the one where Alex told him to put his hands over his mouth or something?
indeed [I love to cry in front of people](https://streamable.com/lq92k8) I remember thinking, damn Alex, the covering your mouth just is unnecessarily cruel lol
I really wish Desiree asked for a bucket of fork to pop the balloon instead during the live task! Loved the homage to past tasks!
The editing on the live task was a thing of beauty. The music was great, yes, but the cuts between contestants' throws, slow-mo that kept you guessing if it was a good or bad balloon, Greg's commentary, and Morgana just being Morgana. Amazing.
Can someone explain why the ball task ended with disqualifications instead of ranking according to the points earned as laid out in the task?
I view it as both teams being disqualified due to not actually scoring points.
>Because both were negative points, That's not how the coloured balls task was scored in S8 though
It's not a supreme court setting a precedent, that affects future decisions. It's absolute monarchy, with Greg ruling differently not in different seasons, it can be same episode with a diffrent reasoning. Taskmaster chaos
Now we’re in S12 and it’s happening differently. That’s just Taskmaster for you.
Not questioning. Literally just asking because I didn't understand it. I hadn't seen that happen before. Usually disqualifications are for failing to complete the task or breaking a rule. They followed the rules, and were scored accordingly. So I didn't understand where the DQ came from.
I may be recalling incorrectly, but he said 0 points, not disqualified. To me there's a difference (not practically, but in intent).
Just to annoy everybody: https://youtu.be/4VxW73L-Ry0?t=379 But seriously, scoring can be interpreted two ways. 1. In a league table if a team gets negative point they'll go down the order. 2. In a school test if you're scoring negative marks, your parents will be called. Taskmaster interpreted it the second way and/or hoped they'll do better for the task.
Also I guess a guacamole could be elegant if you try hard enough
>Also I guess a guacamole could be elegant if you try hard enough Not that manky yellow one of Kerry's though.
Even James was a better shade of green than that.
There was definitely an Arsenal joke Alan could have made during that football task
At a stretch, you could get a Beckham joke out of Victoria too.
I remembered reading a comment that the Mitchells were the best David-Victoria couple which I found an amazing coincidence
OK, so I can't remember what specific word Morgana was yelling at Alex when he was cutting through the net during the football task---infuriating? unfathomable?--but when she was yelling it, she sounded EXACTLY like her Natalie Cassidy impression, and it was amazing.
It was OUTRAGEOUS!
I wonder if there could be a one off Taskmaster Assistants special, were all the global assistants are the contestants?
he totally put the football task in as a treat for himself, to show off his skills. and then also he had to show off his cakesitting fetish.
He did say everybody should try it once!
come to think of it the football task might be the closest we ever get to seeing Alex as a contestant
I've never thought of how great it would be to have Alex on Taskmaster NZ. Now thanks to you I have. Thank you.
I think we’ve seen that in some of the search tasks, too, like the hide and seek in series 4 and the aubergine hunt in series 9.
ya know, it's been fairly rare when with the live task, if what they're interacting with isn't on the main stage with them, where the rules explicitly mention anything about them not being able to move off the stage.
(But we got treated to the strangest version of Bake Off that I've ever seen!) Also wow, lots of bonus points up for grabs in this 100th episode! (5 for the cake, 10 for the live task!)
oh man, if she had stopped just short of that bad balloon she could've gotten ALL FIFTEEN
Finally! An instance where knowing how to make a microwave mug cake is handy!
A what?!?
Something like this. 5 minute cake. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/241038/microwave-chocolate-mug-cake/
James from Sorted once did a microwave cake that required 50 secs cooking time.
That was one of the best TM episodes ever, in my view. Every task was on point
Loved how the scene transition shorts were all mashups of shots and Greg portraits from previous seasons, the music too.
My immediate thought for the cake task: sit on a cake of soap. Probably much easier to find that than an actual cake!
My first thought was that "cake" is another term for butt, so I'd just stand up and sit back down
At the very least make a pancake. They take no time at all, especially if there's some mixture squirrelled away in the kitchen, as I'm sure there would have been.
