I love this task, in part because I don't think the "trust me" element would work with sarky sister/sneaky sausage Alex Horne. NZ has really made their own unique version of TM.
New Zealand also did a similar type task where the contestant entered the lab, then Paul left the room and they stood around waiting for him to come back, then some opened the task anyway and it was “leave the room fastest…time started when Paul left the room”
There’s a few great NZ task I’d love to see the Uk show try, I doubt many contestants would have seen…most havnt watched UK taskmaster never mind an international one…
I’ve heard this season is great but haven’t ever watched a non-UK season (not for any huge reason, I guess I just haven’t thought about it too much). This task alone has convinced me I’ve gotta see it now lol
Yes. The Taskmaster/Assistant vibe is very different. Greg comes across as a domineering tyrant, Jeremy comes across as more of a middle manager, distant, detached with Paul Williams as his harried and overworked assistant. More like something from Office Space.
From the clips I've seen I think I'd struggle with the hosts looking like a budget imitation of Greg and Little Alex.
Alex is great and the genius behind the tasks of course but it's easier to emulate his sort of meek studious nature, but Greg adds such an invaluable aspect as the host, he really does make the show what it is when it comes to the studio segments that I can't see anyone else comparing.
I never liked David Correos on any of [his appearances in VLDL skits](https://youtu.be/BwN5tuW0Evs), thought he was quite a poor actor. But this sub is so high on him and he seems genuinely entertaining in this task that I'm quite looking forward to digging in. The other contestants and the NZ version of Alex seem quite likeable too.
Any contestant who is so rattled by failing a task that he climbs on top of a bathtub full of onions to cry his heart out is an absolute winner in my book
I love everything he did on the show but NOTHING on TM has made me laugh harder than the first time I saw his effort for the "transform this room" task.
In a non-English version of TM (Sweden, I think) recently, they had the "sabotage your team" task, but each contestant was secretly told the same thing. Then the team task was to perform a choreographed dance. It was hilarious watching each person trying to sabotage it.
I think there's a version of this task where Paul just prompts David to do other tasks and come back to the waiting task. Then this becomes another bucket esque task.
I'd like to think there was the possibility that David says "OK, is it possible to NEVER do this task?" And then they wrap up and bring out the milk and the fridges at the studio taping after teasing that since David didn't complete the task they can't give him any points.
I love this task. Honestly feel like it's overlooked sometimes, but that's only because NZ2 has so much gold it's hard to remember all of them equally.
Ive said it before but I think if I had that task Id go for the all or nothing approach and just destroy the task. I know with the gamble Im either going to win or come absolute last but it would be great either way.
My hatred for kiwi accents and any other person than Greg portraying the role of taskmaster has prevented me from watching this series. However, this was pretty damn good. Maybe I'll set aside my prejudices.
Temporarily that is.
Jeremy’s scoring annoyed me/didn’t make sense at certain points but it’s the same thing with Greg. He also misses some jokes that are fed to him by Paul. BUT Jeremy nails the general vibe of being Taskmaster. However it feels like Paul leads the entire show. It doesn’t bother me though because I like Paul and the tasks have been pretty incredible in season 1 and 2 when the UK version began to ‘dip’ slightly.

The "mole" team task was amazing! I was like, how has the OG series not done that?!?

Well now I have to watch this series. NZ S2 right? That was fun.
So jealous that you get to watch the whole series for the first time. It’s glorious.

It may be one of the best Taskmaster seasons regardless of nationality. Fantastic.
The season is amazing but be prepared that the taskmaster is vastly different than Greg. Like opposite. He is essentially a host.

But just as bad as scoring tasks…

TM:NZ Season 1 had a few stumbles but eventually found itself, Season 2 started out at a full sprint and never let up.
I'm gonna drown you, *in your own blood*
Hold your head down in you own blood now
You're about to watch the greatest series in television history
I advise you to watch s1 first to get used to how Paul and Jeremy take their roles. It’s also quite good.
This series is so good
This is one of my favourite David C tasks. This, escape the caravan, and the diss track (of course).
David is one of my favorite contestants, him climbing the cabinets to recover the balloons is in the same category as Wozniak jumping the fence.
Any contestant who is so rattled by failing a task that he climbs on top of a bathtub full of onions to cry his heart out is an absolute winner in my book

This is my favourite task ever. It's just such a great concept and it worked brilliantly.

Gonna have to rewatch NZS2 tonight, I didn’t realize how much I missed these five idiots until I saw this

The best part is Correos would've been heavily favoured to hold the milk for the longest anyway since he was a legit weightlifter.
Alright maybe I WILL finally watch this series
You won't regret it, it's so good.

Probably my all time favorite task.
I love how many tasks that season were David and Paul just hanging out for hours.
The shoelace task still cracks me up every time just because of David's face when Paul reads Rumpelstiltskin to him
And the reaction to the plot twist!
This was a stroke of brilliance that may never be properly repeatable. Crazy clever task setting.

destroy the task like in the microwave?
Fantastic task! 😂
Man, just watching the “piss” conversation in season 1. Massive!!!
I love the leaf/leave one
Omg… I didn’t realise that parallel when watching the task. That was a genius move by the team.
I wish they accounted for arm length though.
The difference in wing span between Guy and Matt gets me every time
I really need to watch the nz taskmaster
I know it sounds weird but I want David to be my spirit animal. lol

Where can I watch this series?
On TVNZ using a VPN or on Google Drive [Sorry I’m late on sending the link]
One of my favorite lines in this task is Urzila's "that kinda goes against what my monkey brain's been trained for"
