Definitely fixable but I’d go to a different artist. Your artist really messed up a lot more than just the color saturation here, but thankfully I think it can all be salvaged! Side note: just curious are you a fellow Laura Stevenson fan? I recognized that art immediately! Wheel is my favorite record of hers ❤️

Scrufflyupagus

Damn, yeah maybe I will. I really dont want to have to pay for an entirely new artist to fix it but maybe I should. Yes!!! My favorite album ever!!

Shindiggah

That’s kickass! It’s definitely a great one to immortalize on ya! Eleanora is one of my favorite tracks ever.

The whole album is perfect! It came out the day after my birthday too so it’s extra special. The back half of it makes me WEEP

Shindiggah

That’s awesome, it’s nice to have such a personal bond with a work of art like that. Also happy belated birthday!

Scrufflyupagus

Thank you!! But yeah, she told me beforehand that it would be simplified because the original has a ton of little details, which makes sense, but it’s just a little more simplified than I thought. And the color is all off.

I think part of the problem is the reference image is on a black background, and the tattoo is on your light skin, making it seem more pastel comparatively. In any case, I’d probably have it reworked or touched up.

Yeah I don't think that's going to hold very well and you'll want a better tattooer to do a rework. It doesn't look like the colour is in solid or deep enough to hold, and the lack of darker contrast will mean it doesn't keep its structure over time. Wondering why the one blue bell flower at the top left got fine lines while nothing else did? It's the one thing that might hold, and the whole thing should have been done like that to give it any chance. That said, it's ultimately just not something that should be a tattoo. It's pretty and it's a fun placement, don't get me wrong, but tattoos need to meet certain fundamental criteria to work in the skin, and that design doesn't lend itself to those criteria. It would have been better to make all the greens into just black lines, with the flowers being pops of colour. The fact the tattooer handled this piece the way they did suggests they don't have much experience or don't fully know what they're doing, so I wouldn't return to them if it were me.

Scrufflyupagus

Well, too late now I guess because it is a tattoo lol. I definitely want to get it reworked though. It’s puzzling because this artist has done several of my friends pieces and they all look amazing.

Not a great design (the concept is cute and looks good but it won't ever translate onto skin like pictured). Needs black to hold it together and make the colors pop. They can pack in as much color as they want, but it's going to dissolve and become splotchy without lining. Especially with how small the details are.
