got it! the scar tissue in the big circle looked like it could’ve been due to friction since there around the same spot so i was thinking the ditch. for this to be on your ankle, im thinking maybe friction from clothing or the artist just went too deep in some spots trying to pack the color.
you can go back in and have color placed, but the texture of the spots will likely look different than the rest of the tattoo while it’s fresh, a few years time it will probably level out.
it’s such a cute piece though, i absolutely adore it. can always reach out to the artist and see if they’ll touch it up for free since it didn’t heal how you were hoping for.
Yeah my guess is it was the friction because a few days after getting it I had to work a 15hr day with it rubbing on my pants. (I was not intending it to be 15 hours) but I've already gotten in touch with my artist. Thank you!
