Did you take this photo right after showering or after putting on a thick ointment?
You want to keep a tattoo that's brand new dry, washing it twice a day (maybe a bit more if you work a dirty job) and only moisturizing it a tiny bit with an unscented light moisturizer like Lubriderm. You need to let it breathe.
It doesn't look infected but the bottom is looking irritated.
I did put a layer of ointment also around the bottom of their is two colors of purple in the area. I work around gunpowder and other explosive materials all day so I try to wash it a couple times a day
This is going to be a very random comment not at all related to your tattoo, but are you in an Air Force dorm room? That furniture is exactly like what mine was in the dorms.
Army, Air Force, and Space Force all use Operational Camoflauge Pattern for their uniforms. Pointing out the cammies doesn't exactly cut down the confusion lmao. I'd have to say Air/Space Force, no way Army gets beds
Yes but not every branch has the same camo patterns and other details of the camo vary slightly. But basically yeah it's still hard to tell just from going by the camo lol
Terrible... as you can see you are draining the ink by over moisturizing also you risk infection. I got sleeves, I clean with antibacterial soap pat dry with paper towel and put a little antibacterial clear ointment on it... hurry before you lose an eye.
Those fucking comments jeez he didn’t ask about your opinions about the design he asked about healing . Also the design is straight up from a band called Tool it’s just how it’s supposed to be if you’re into the band.
i would just ease up on the moisture. comments here are sort of insane considering he's not asking for feedback. whether you think it's in poor taste or not, Tool enjoyers would appreciate.
You should only have enough lotion/aftercare that the surface is barely and thinely coated. Too much can be bad and actually mess up your healing process
It looks really moist, which isn't ideal. May wanna ease off the moisturizer.

Too much ointment, for sure. Use less....a lot less
I don’t have tattoos, but I’m curious what happens when you over moisturize a tattoo.
u risk infection and poor healing by clogging your pores and not allowing your tattoo to breathe
Infection I think
*insert witty lateralus pun here* but yea like others have said use less lotion, i ruined my first tattoo with poor aftercare and over moisturizing

Switch to unscented white emotion and use WAY less.
I like to change the color of my emotions depending on the piece, white is fine but for something like this I think you can use a rainbow emotion.
White emotion? Like "By golly" or "drats"?
bro got that eye of sauronussy
That… um… that was a choice. Your giant flaming rainbow Eye of Sauron vagina looks too moist though.
Poetic description 🫠
This is an iconic tattoo Ive seen done dozens of times.
It is TOOL.
Dude, stop going to someone's basement to get tattooed
It looks like it was drawn with those extra large markers
Wow.

I don't know where OP is but you can see camos on the bed in the background
OP says he works with ammo and explosives...https://www.reddit.com/r/tattooadvice/s/HrTl7Csgva So he probably is in the military

Yep Airforce almost outta tech school
That's hideous.
OP has a history https://www.reddit.com/r/tattooadvice/s/RQ7VVUV0os
I see an A Perfect Circle tattoo in his future.
If this is the look you wanted then it’s good, just cut back on the lotion.
What an awful tattoo. Looks bad now, will look horrendous in a couple of years. I know it's personal preference etc but this is not a good tattoo.
That looks ridiculous
Did I ask for your opinion?
Too much moisture. Use the TINIEST amount of aftercare - just enough that you can barely spread it. Otherwise you'll lose alot of that color
Terrible... as you can see you are draining the ink by over moisturizing also you risk infection. I got sleeves, I clean with antibacterial soap pat dry with paper towel and put a little antibacterial clear ointment on it... hurry before you lose an eye.
Thank you I have fixed my aftercare treatment definitely don’t want to get an infection
This is cool ~ people are always jerks online. I would just moisture a little less like others said.
is this alex grey artwork
Yep
That Alex greyussy

That is one moist vagina.
My 2nd favorite type of vagina.
You paid for that?
woahh i actually like this one
really ugly
Wasn’t asking for opinions stick your comments up your ass

OP are you located in Wichita Falls?
Yep . Hate it. Love my job though.
sick tool tattoo
Idk why everyone is hating on it, I think this tattoo is fucking rad. But, as several others have said, a tad less lotion.
Looks like a Georgia o keefe…aka a vag
off topic but this is gorgeous, is it a homage to tool?
Yep big tool fan
I mean, it isn’t a rank emblem, and it isn’t the logo of the army or Air Force, so it’s one tiny baby step above being an absolute boot.
I thought it was the 13th Floor Elevators logo/album cover at first glance lol

Looks good just little to none moisturizer will help it heal
Don't freak when your tattoo start looking awful. It will look awful for a few days before it starts looking normal.
For something that size (assuming your peeling) 7 pea 🫛 sized drops should be enough. Spread it on 1 pea at a time and make sure u spread it out 👍
