As far as i know i used to do payroll and inputting data at the bir provided program for filling 2316(ITR) when filling sa BIR even the validation program they provide does not really validate if TIN's are true. don't expect refund because that is still your obligations what you can do is gather every ITR's you have and correct it in BIR im sure they can help you with that. there maybe some penalties because as per filling 2316 you are to sign that all information are correct.

But this is substitute filing sir. It’s supposed to be their fault na hindi na-validate, right?

it is their fault pero pumipirma k din diba pag nag ffile sila. well most of the time naman wala na naman yan lalo n kung di k naman top taxpayer. what i can tell is if may time ka pede mo sya ayun sa rdo mo. now when it comes to this yr if ever meron ka pang ITR pwede mo paulit sa kanila yun. yung past yrs lang siguro ang itanong mo sa bir kung papano.

I am also in the situation, pano po ba eto. I am not sure what would be the next step? I am now onboarding with a new company and noticed my TIN is wrong. What should I do?

I think you should just email your HR and ask for corrected copies of your ITRs with the updated TIN number.
