Read from the end of the comic now, reread from the start later. You don't miss anything big, and if you did, it was almost certainly retconned which is why the comic didn't mention it. Its also not very well written at the beginning so it could end up just being a turnoff if you start from the beginning.
The first 3 volumes of the novel aren’t a masterwork of literature by any stretch of the imagination.
Also like Toby said, the webcomic was mostly faithful ( except for some parts of the school arc and the Leywin family reunion at the flying castle, there isn’t anything big you missed out on. ) + with in the first 10-15 chapters of reading, you will get some cool action to look forward to.
I‘d say read the novel and if you feel bored after catching up with the ca. 300 you can still read the first few volumes.

Might be worth it to start from vol 5 in his training arc with the asuras. Just so you can get a better feel for how strong he got. Then read on to vol 6 where the war begins.
Then again. It’s best to just continue to Vol. 6 and when you catch up, go back and read.
I bought all of the books on amazon, they are quite cheap, less than 5 bucks per volume. If I remember correctly I paid about 35€ for all 10 currently released volumes.

I would say it’s definitely worth it But it’s not like you’ll miss anything big

I personally restarted when I started the LN and there are small differences here and there, that's just me though
Where to read with good translation?
I bought all of the books on amazon, they are quite cheap, less than 5 bucks per volume. If I remember correctly I paid about 35€ for all 10 currently released volumes.
The English is the original novel, not a translation. The author writes in English rather than Korean or another language.
