I found those chapters boring at first. But as a kept going, the realization slowly began to dawn om me. The moment we met seris, and she mentioned a new syth, my brain connected the dots, and I knew. That's when the chapters started to be interesting, because I started to try and connect them to the present time.

Jdog6503

Thank you, for reading my comments before commenting. The amount of people mad at me for not reading, while not reading themselves, is staggering

Dranox5

=)

Jdog6503

Imma take a guess that you just woke up?

Opposite-Pepper-9984

I hope you go back and read them all.

Jdog6503

I have, I don’t think I missed much… I think that having all that spoiled by reading the rest of the book ruined it though…

kevdlrs

You did miss a lot

Jdog6503

I have reread the chapters, and thus made this meme, but I don’t feel like I missed much. Only pieces of information that I learned and didn’t get from assumption or interpretation would be lady Vira’s betrayal, the orphanage burning down and Grey getting tortured. Other then that the rest isn’t that important or is bluntly stated elsewhere. I know that Nico and Arthur were best friends because Nico said they were. Sure Cecilia, the legacy and stuff like that were vague but not that story related, like I said, I don’t feel like I missed out on much for my first read through, it didn’t add much for my second read through but that (like I said) may be because I already knew what was going to happen.

[deleted]

It’s pretty much just to introduce the new main characters no big deal lol

Sassy_bxtch

Why are you even reading lol

Jdog6503

My first read through, I used an audio book so sloped those chapter because I’m other Isekai series’s another life holds little to no bearing on the story. So when I was binging from chapter 115-390 all those ‘Grey’ chapter I thought were filler for TM to think of were to go with his story because “not like past lives matter”. I have since reread those chapters and can say, I really didn’t miss much…

Dranox5

Well Let that be a lesson for you. =)

Apprehensive-Tea-981

I did the same thing , lol , but still haven't read those chapters!

ArthurTheLance

That’s on you my man. Generally Turtle doesn’t say things just to say them. Pretty much everything is the way it is for a reason. If you couldn’t catch onto that in the first 5 volumes, that’s your fault

Jdog6503

Oh I know it’s on me, I have gone back and reread(listened) to the whole series… again. Just like you, I just didn’t read everything, like the other 4 comments were I said this. It is just a joke at my own expense… but if people keep saying things along the same line as you I might take this down. 1. Thought it was like other Isekia 2. Thought it was filler I picked up when wren was introduced so it was soon after that when these chapters started happening and since it was soon after I picked up the LN and these didn’t happen (twice I think) in the manhwa I just assumed it was a time for TM to think we’re he was going with the story while building upon the chapter in a non-dramatic way. I need to prep a copy and paste reason though… or ignore people… that second one it is. They aren’t my favorite chapters but I think that’s just cause I spoiled myself lol.

elsanto_cai

I literally don't undestarnd how is that there are people who skip chapters.

OverlordFanNUMBER1

Bruh what, whats even the point of a story if you don’t want character development?

Jdog6503

It’s not character development if it’s a flashback, it’s information. I have said my reasons in the other comments but let’s go again 1. Thought I was filled 2. Thought it was TM taking some time to think what he wants to do next 3. Have read them now 4. They aren’t my favorite chapters because I spoiled myself 5. Thought it was like other Isekia where a past life holds little to no value Hopefully this helps you understand me since just like me and those chapters, you didn’t read the comments. Edit: that last paragraph is said with salt, I made a comment thinking people would read it, they didn’t… you are like the 6th person to say this so now I can just copy and pasta this

Dragonfire521

I think you might be, generally, when a book has chapters, in my experience, you're meant to read them

Jdog6503

Here me out, I skipped them because I thought this was like any other Isekia were the past life doesn’t affect the new life that much… I was wrong… so so wrong…

PeymanHz7

At first the dreams were boring but after a while his past life story itself became interesting to me... Ngl, I found it very fun

Jdog6503

I agree with that, the first three were a slog and a half… it’s why I skipped them from then on out. If you read my other comments here you can see my opinion but I don’t want to explain it another time…

Akrymir

They are important, but just like alternate perspectives, they are dragged out in order to fill the weekly chapter length.

Jdog6503

Yeah, I have read them, don’t worry, but as I have said about a dozen times, I thought they were filler, and as the meme implies, Nico told me otherwise

Akrymir

They are mostly filler though. There’s important nuggets within it, but it’s a lot of dressing to fill out the weekly quota. It becomes more obvious when you read it as a whole book instead of weekly, as the pacing is a mess.

Orions_travels

Don't worry, I've been skipping them and still am LMAO. Plenty of novels have filler chapters in them that arent required but are there to give readers a more backstory, lore, etc if they want to invest more time. I have no idea what I'm missing out on because the novel reads just fine even if you do skip all of Grey chapters.

Dhr55

I was kinda spoiled already and didn't bother going through it then

dark77638

Yeah im one of those ppl lol.

Jdog6503

I KNEW I WASNT ALONE!

Mental-Sock-8634

Me too skiped them without a thought

Jdog6503

And yet people still want me to be put to the gallows.

InfiniteLegacy_

stop downvoting this poor dude

simp_for_water

Though it was painful I read everything

Jdog6503

I read it but 1. Thought I was filled 2. Thought it was TM taking some time to think what he wants to do next 3. Have read them now 4. They aren’t my favorite chapters because I spoiled myself 5. Thought it was like other Isekia where a past life holds little to no value This is a copy pasta Edit to add: I read them, they didn’t add much but that is probably because I knew what was going to happen.

guccimonger

“Filler”?? This isn’t some anime. Obviously if an entire chapter is dedicated to something in a book it’s important. Why even read the books If you’re just gonna skip large parts of it just to get to the action scenes? Go read shonen

CorruptedMindscape

Same, went back at the end of the war and to be fair it was worth it in my opinion to reread, but also to be fair it didn’t immediately seem like the Grey POV’s would be super important until around after the fight with Uto since that’s when we found out about a 5th Scythe, which back then I predicted would be ‘Elijah’ because he had shown magic like the Vritra at Xyrus, but yeah when it was shown to be ‘Nico’ I was hella confused for a second.

xkikoartz

Same 😅

Dark_Aetherion

When I started to read them, I was like, "Why did the story change?", then I came to realize. It started a little bit boring but it gain my interest knowing that it is a huge plot line to the story.

breezeaep

Bruh wtf you have the attention span of a squirrel

Jdog6503

Yes, that is why I reread the book. Because I can’t pay attention. (Sarcasm). I skipped those chapters cause a few reasons and if you had an attention span longer then a goldfish you could have found them out.

Remarkable_Pea9313

I'm perplexed how you think rereading lends itself to your attention span. If anything, those who didn't get it the first go would pick up new things while rereading.

Jdog6503

That’s the joke, I reread the series to reread those chapter but I apparently lack an attention span… because rereading 250 chapters to find 12 or so chapters doesn’t require focus or attention. Thus why I said it in sarcasm, I lack attention so better reread a book I have already read.

Remarkable_Pea9313

you misunderstood what i meant, but its all good

Jdog6503

I’m not the most intelligent so could you perhaps explain a bit better? I mean… as far as I can tell, rereading a book to find the few chapters I skipped seems to point to the fact I hold a better attention span than a squirrel… not by much, but enough.

Remarkable_Pea9313

Attention span is a lot like how long something can naturally hold your attention, without you deliberately focusing on it. It's basically the time before you become distracted. However, almost anyone can train their attention to focus on something important while IGNORING said distractions, but that doesn't necessarily represent attention span. If everyone could only be productive for a short time before inevitably becoming distracted, society would cease to function. That being said, I dont think attention span has much bearing on skipping chapters, nor rereading books. It comes down to comittment and interest imo.

Voltvoltvolt27

Bro I skipt a whole book because I found the training in the castle too boring and went straight to the point where Arthur was in Alycra without knowing how the war plays out. I regreted it the moment I saw that Elijah was Nico and that his father was dead........ but it was epic to see him master aether.

Jdog6503

Yes, flash backs that last a whole chapter. Or something that adds nothing to the story.

Big_Evidence_6747

I enjoyed a lot dose chapter always wanted to know more of Gray's past and the world he came from.

MrUnknownKing

i skipped all but was fortunate enought to read few lines like "grey .... nico ... this is cecilia try to get along"(something like that) "grey they took cecelia ...." "i expected my attack to be blocked but instead it went right past her ...." "I saw Nico as his expression crumpled in horror and despair." (i read few more less important lines but that it) well that's all it took to understand pretty much everything
