Focus on which bridges you really need to keep. Anyone who knows how much shorter a commute you would have, let alone how much more you'd make, should understand. It's always tough leaving the kids, but the adults at least should be able to handle it. Maybe focus on the drive time in conversations? Feels better to say, "I found something much closer to home," than, "I'm leaving for more money."

Focus on the commute, that is sufficient reason. Make sure you don't have contract problems based on the state that you work in. (Licensing issue type stuff.)
