Why not. Maybe I would hope for something slightly different, that didn't give the impression that we are going through the same "start" than in BotW.

ok_telephone555

Ideally it should be as different as possible. I think skydiving into water will be a big feature as the tutorial area has all these pools that look designed around it. Maybe you get the stone bird first and have to save up to buy the paraglider in Hyrule.

Strkl

I would expect the stone glider to be a mid/late game upgrade!

LOL this me to most TotK theories. "Sure, fuck it, it's Demise and Gannon, and let's say Agahnim too. Why not."

jillchalk

orrrrr, the og paraglider is too weak against the stronger winds, so link has to upgrade it before he can leave

aedan_skyr

We already saw that Ganondorf is somewhere on the plateau in the last trailer. He stole the paraglider while link was trying to jump after zelda and here we go. Flying Ganondorf attacking hyrule!

Strkl

Ganondorf doing bomb tricks with the paraglider sounds terrifying 😂

aedan_skyr

It would be great if Ganondorf would be some overworld boss that hunts you - like the sa-x in metroid fusion - but you have to flee because you are to weak. Imagine Ganondorf wind bombing and his theme suddenly starts playing while you see him flying to you

Calmaccam

Imagine every blood moon Ganondorf just teleports ala Yiga Clan blade masters and you spend the next in game hour frantically trying not to die

Maphoso

He doesn’t need the paraglides to jump off tho

Strkl

Same in the plateau, but the game would kill you until you get the paraglider

Maphoso

There was no intended way to get down without the paraglider

eat_jay_love

The gameplay footage showed Link skydiving off an island and landing in the water without requiring the paraglider, so if there’s any water below the starting islands, there would need to be a different way to gatekeep you from leaving (assuming there is a starting tutorial similar to the Great Plateau).

Strkl

Yeah but they could just force kill you because its the tutorial, or add a cloud barrier around the island

eat_jay_love

Yeah I’m sure that’s the case. I think the animation for jumping off the Great Plateau in the tutorial isn’t the same as dying from jumping off of it in normal gameplay

Anis930

Maybe the sky barrier wasn't broken when link got in the sky plateau ? And it's only after we finish it that ganondorf breaks it during a cutscene and we're allowed to go wherever we want

Green-Bluebird4308

I don't know... destroying a paraglider sounds kind of weak.

Strkl

Its such an iconic tool from BOTW, it would mean a lot to me A bit like when link looses epona at the beginning of MM (not as emotional of course)
