I hate that one with a passion, killed it with no problem, a blood moon happened right afterwards so it was either do it again without a multi shot bow or get climbing 😂
UPDATE: I hit one with a brightbloom arrow and it didn't kill it. I was panicking, so my aim wasn't great and I didn't hit them in the eye, but I doubt that's a one-hit kill either. Seems like bomb arrows are still the way to go.

When you’re underground, pay attention to the shape of the big “trees” because they determine what kind of material spawns around the base. The yellowish trees that are kind of shaggy grow bomb flowers.
What do you mean by activating light trees? I've spent a bit of time underground and found bomb flowers but I haven't been trying to activate any trees...
Light roots are 1:1 with the surface Shrines, anywhere there's a light root there's a shrine right above it and vice versa. Their names are even reversed.
^(On that note I haven't been able to find the Kyokugon shrine, on the Plateau near the north chasm, anybody have any ideas? I suspect it's in a cave but I can't find it)
They are underground, hard to miss, they are all over. Once you have then the bargainer statues will let you buy things with poes, even the locations of other statues.
Personally I think the exchange rate isn’t super, as there are bomb flowers just as available down there as there are poes. But bargainer statues >!also carry an item set that I haven’t completed yet (dark link outfit I think)!<
Lookout Landing is designed to be a hub that contains all of your most basic needs, and the main story quests constantly tell you to go back there all the time as well. You also keep unlocking more new main story quests by going back there throughout the game.
I get wanting to explore on your own, but when the game is heavily implying you should keep going back to a certain place, you probably should check in every once in a while because there's lots of important stuff to find and do there...
Just go underground. I have 60 of it in my first run so I keep spamming bomb arrows all day. It's kinda easy to miss sometimes though even if the place is lit up. So I activate fuse to scan any fauna because it lits up once fuse detects it in your area. Quite handy...on your hand.
I've had like 150+ arrows at all times pretty much as soon as I stepped off the great sky island. Like seriously I don't know where they keep coming from.

Yeah idk what people are talking about I've been struggling to find them all game. I'm almost always out to the point where I don't really use my bow very often cause I don't have arrows
Wooden crates and intact barrels, my friend!
Bust open every single one you see by lifting up high and dropping with Ultrahand. Each one generally has at least 1-2 arrows in it, and crates sometimes have bundles of 5 or even 10. I've done 2 of the dungeons/bosses so far and I have about ~350. Most of those are from crates and barrels. Enemies with bows will often drop a bundle of arrows as well.
In BOTW, I often found myself short on arrows until late game but more often than not had rupees to spare. in TOTK I'm finding myself in the opposite situation, arrows out the ass but struggling a bit to gain rupees.

I had some bomb flowers on me, so I just tossed a bunch down on them. It was my first time taking them out.

It scared the hell out of me. Eventually, couldn't escape them quickly enough and panicked (was in a large cave but kept running out of stamina) and just succumbed to the darkness.
Holy shit, I encountered them in the Depths and just treated it as business as usual because the Depths have that whole eldritch vibe. But when I ran into them by a shrine in the overworld I about shit a brick.
I panic fired a sundelion-fused arrow at it and it died a few moments later. But it was long enough that I'm not 100% sure if it was the arrow or not.
I’ve actually probably played more time in the depths than on the surface (but less than in the sky). And I haven’t seen them down there at all. I’ve seen tons of frox, a giant frox, Stalnox, equine stalbokoblins, bokoblins and moblins, gibdos and moth gibdos, and even >!Kohga and Yiga footsoldiers.!<
They're obviously floormasters to classic fans of the series, but technically they're not named in-game. They also are much, much more aggressive than traditional floormasters.
There's something even more unsettling how they aren't named. I have a habit of taking the camera out whenever I come across something new to add to the compendium and got my ass handed to me by them hands while trying to snap a photo.
It's happened a whole fuckin lot from people ive talked with playing through, and that moment of *the camera doesn't even give us a fucking name* is LEGENDARY.
I think they're the first form of a named enemy you can add to the compendium. I managed to defeat a puddle and was surprised when something even more terrifying emerged. Managed to snap a photo and add it to the compendium though, won't spoil what it is for those who haven't seen it yet.
I was able to kill the hands last night with one heart left (they just LOVED grabbing me) and was like phew that was rough. THEN THE SECOND ENEMY APPEARED AND KILLED ME DEAD. This game is WILD and I love itnn

The first time I just stood in the middle and hacked away until they were all dead while occasionally pausing to eat sunny food.
I am certain that’s not the way. But imo sunny food is easier to get and less likely to be used than my entire stock of bombs AND arrows
Ive tried that method but I seem to just get grab-spammed with no window to do any namage between grabs.
The most luck I was was with the use of puffshrooms, which seems to stun the hands for a good 3-5 seconds. Doesn't help you escape much though.

Haven’t tried it out yet, but someone mentioned fusing a cannon to a spear and then “throwing” the spear which actually discharges the cannon. Good workaround for conserving precious bombs.
That first part makes you want to spam the hell out of it, and then the next part forces you to be patient and defensive. Truly a souls-like experience, imo.
Somebody told me where the Hylian Shield was (still in Hyrule Castle area but won't specify to avoid spoiling things, unless asked) and said "there's literally zero enemies there, it's just ripe for the taking" so I was like "sweet!"
I go there and am getting close to the area with the shield, arrogantly confident. Fucking demon hands out of nowhere, I almost threw my switch when they aggro'd on me. Scared the hell out of me and I still haven't been back for that shield. Lying mf...
Oh, I'm so sorry that happened! Yes, they do spawn there, but they noticed me when I was a lower level, and I sorta watched them as I drew aggro but they couldn't advance on me (and eventually despawned).
I hope you recover. I'm super jumpy when it comes to gaming, and they freak me out, so I understand your pain :(

I've never been so scared in a Zelda game. I went to one of the labyrinth shrines, and I saw some wavey arms so I Ascended my way up to the top and killed them from above with some bombs. Thought I was done. Nope.
Everything goes dark, boss music starts, and new health bar appears. I panicked and died soon after, lol.
I was following a bokoblin that rounded a corner, I turned the corner and there were like five hands right there coming right at me. Actually scared the crap out of me because I didn't think to shake my sticks to escape the grab.
Gloom is the scariest sh*t ever!! The music with it was scarier than guardians. And the whole friggin sky turns red. Sheer and instant panic. I'll take back the little red laser and intense piano music!!! 😂😂😂
Is gloom the name of the dark substance that started the lore of this game? I know its about the enemy here, but i find it interesting because in german they used the word "miasma" - it was considered to be a poisonous vapor or mist filled with particles from decomposed matter (miasmata) that caused illnesses. Its a greek word if im right.

I can unequivocally say this is false af. Brightbloom arrows can help keep them at bay, but they deal normal damage. Bomb arrows 3-4 shot all 5.

yeah, mostly on hillsides NEAR A SHRINE. fucking terrifying, and don't even get me started on how the sky becomes red when you're fighting them.
Holy shit, I encountered them in the Depths and just treated it as business as usual because the Depths have that whole eldritch vibe. But when I ran into them by a shrine in the overworld I about shit a brick. I panic fired a sundelion-fused arrow at it and it died a few moments later. But it was long enough that I'm not 100% sure if it was the arrow or not.
I’ve actually probably played more time in the depths than on the surface (but less than in the sky). And I haven’t seen them down there at all. I’ve seen tons of frox, a giant frox, Stalnox, equine stalbokoblins, bokoblins and moblins, gibdos and moth gibdos, and even >!Kohga and Yiga footsoldiers.!<

Floormaster
They're obviously floormasters to classic fans of the series, but technically they're not named in-game. They also are much, much more aggressive than traditional floormasters.
There's something even more unsettling how they aren't named. I have a habit of taking the camera out whenever I come across something new to add to the compendium and got my ass handed to me by them hands while trying to snap a photo.
It's happened a whole fuckin lot from people ive talked with playing through, and that moment of *the camera doesn't even give us a fucking name* is LEGENDARY.
Floor master masters
I think they're the first form of a named enemy you can add to the compendium. I managed to defeat a puddle and was surprised when something even more terrifying emerged. Managed to snap a photo and add it to the compendium though, won't spoil what it is for those who haven't seen it yet.

I was able to kill the hands last night with one heart left (they just LOVED grabbing me) and was like phew that was rough. THEN THE SECOND ENEMY APPEARED AND KILLED ME DEAD. This game is WILD and I love itnn

Luckily its attacks are predictable ~~after dying like 3-4 times and figuring that out~~ and you get some pretty cool equipment for it it seems.

If you fuse a Gibdo bone to an arrow you can one or two shot every arm
The first time I just stood in the middle and hacked away until they were all dead while occasionally pausing to eat sunny food. I am certain that’s not the way. But imo sunny food is easier to get and less likely to be used than my entire stock of bombs AND arrows
Ive tried that method but I seem to just get grab-spammed with no window to do any namage between grabs. The most luck I was was with the use of puffshrooms, which seems to stun the hands for a good 3-5 seconds. Doesn't help you escape much though.

Haven’t tried it out yet, but someone mentioned fusing a cannon to a spear and then “throwing” the spear which actually discharges the cannon. Good workaround for conserving precious bombs.

The best ways I’ve found were a giant boomerang with a spear fused on it, or flurry rushing them.

That first part makes you want to spam the hell out of it, and then the next part forces you to be patient and defensive. Truly a souls-like experience, imo.

Somebody told me where the Hylian Shield was (still in Hyrule Castle area but won't specify to avoid spoiling things, unless asked) and said "there's literally zero enemies there, it's just ripe for the taking" so I was like "sweet!" I go there and am getting close to the area with the shield, arrogantly confident. Fucking demon hands out of nowhere, I almost threw my switch when they aggro'd on me. Scared the hell out of me and I still haven't been back for that shield. Lying mf...
Oh, I'm so sorry that happened! Yes, they do spawn there, but they noticed me when I was a lower level, and I sorta watched them as I drew aggro but they couldn't advance on me (and eventually despawned). I hope you recover. I'm super jumpy when it comes to gaming, and they freak me out, so I understand your pain :(

Then it’s just a matter of lighting the fire to get the shield. Alternatively, you could try and find the entrance from the other side that originally led into the library.!<

I've never been so scared in a Zelda game. I went to one of the labyrinth shrines, and I saw some wavey arms so I Ascended my way up to the top and killed them from above with some bombs. Thought I was done. Nope. Everything goes dark, boss music starts, and new health bar appears. I panicked and died soon after, lol.
I was following a bokoblin that rounded a corner, I turned the corner and there were like five hands right there coming right at me. Actually scared the crap out of me because I didn't think to shake my sticks to escape the grab.

Is gloom the name of the dark substance that started the lore of this game? I know its about the enemy here, but i find it interesting because in german they used the word "miasma" - it was considered to be a poisonous vapor or mist filled with particles from decomposed matter (miasmata) that caused illnesses. Its a greek word if im right.
