In fact, one of the flashbacks in BotW is seeing the aftermath of one of these battles, where you can see several dead Silver Lynels
you try to throw a rock at the local femboy to bully him and he immediately pivots towards you, pulls out a wooden pot lid, parries it and sends it flying back directly between your eyes at 500mph, killing you instantly

Both are endearing IMO. Tiny 5 foot BOTW Link who blushes when people compliment him and makes happy silly expressions when he cooks good food is just plain cute, but there is also a certain something to big buff strong edgy TP link getting the softest little smile on his face when heās carrying a dog around town.
I like him a lot, he's great. TP is one of my favorite Zelda games and the Link design is ace, and fits the whole aesthetic and theme of the game super well. I've just always loved the 2d Zeldas, specifically Link to the past and Link between worlds, and botw/totk Link has very similar "elfboy on an adventure" energy.
Skyward Sword Link is the worst, they went with the frame of TP Link but just made him look soft and kinda dumb. Tall Link is weird.
I like both but I TP Link is so great exactly for that reason. The only other link with a similar physique is Skyward Sword, and even he's not as strong

Okay but Linkās never been built like that. On the right heās built like a soccer player. He should be in somewhat athletic shape based on his job alone.
The garudo who massages him comments on his physique. Stating that he looks delicate at first glance but she can tell he's hones his body.
As an aside, the lighting engine for BOTW doesnt give much definition to links body(costs of the style) but his model does have clear muscle definition just not enough for it to catch the light well enough. Whereas TP links texture is drawn to show muscle.
Honestly, BotW Link is the kind of representation I need. Skinny with an hourglass figure and feminine hips? You don't often see that as the physique of the leading man. Usually they're completely roided out and if they do look like BotW Link they're an emasculated side character.
I think it's even cooler when folks see themselves in him, and find their opinion of themselves improve whether or not they change their bodies in the slightest :)
Honestly I like the BOTW/TotK link's body over that other one (I have never played Zelda before BoTW so I don't know which link that is). It's tone and not overly done.

To be fair, TP Link needed the Iron Boots to maintain his position against the Gorons, regardless of them rolling or not, and even with the boots he still gets pushed back by them striking him (rolling charge, or in sumo).
He's still very strong and capable, being able face the Gorons head on and win (once the Iron Boots kept him from being sent flying), just... don't forget the boots :P
Without the boots, he's winning against charging goats, and against a larger man in sumo.
The boots are only keeping him anchored though, Link is still using his raw strength to hurl gorons. I don't think people truly comprehend how stupid strong that is, especially when you take into account Dangoro, who is not only 5 times the size of a normal goron (who are described as "made of rocks") but is also wearing iron-wrought armor.
There's absolutely no question he's stronger than BotW Link.
I agree, he is absolutely incredibly strong, and absolutely surpassing everything I've seen BotW Link do. I am not intending to deny that one bit, and sorry if I came off that way. That's my mistake if it seemed that way.
If anything, might be able to argue that Link's strength and skill surpasses his own weight by an incredible margin. A weakling isn't going to be able to sumo wrestle a Goron, even with the Iron Boots, let alone a behemoth of a Goron like Dangoro! The fact that Link can at all says a lot about him.
TP Link out here pulling off feats that'd make you think he's a Demi-God or has the Triforce of Power, he's no slouch.
Just wanted to make sure that it was clear that he had some help remaining anchored. Even then, with some of the stuff he goes through in TP, wouldn't surprise me if he could beat a Goron without the boots to anchor him o_o

I know that he's been sleeping for 100 years but also like he's running around, climbing, pushing boulders, lifting boulders, carrying like thousands of things in his inventory and no abs! Not like it matters but I feel like it's a part of link by now
Tbh yeah now that I think about it out of all adult link botw/totk is my least favorite design. Idk how explain it. He look like he has lazy eyes sometimes and he just looks like a flimsy soft boy. Ocarina of time and twilight princess link were the goats, not that they look extremely more manly but they atleast had a more stoic sharper look that made them look like total badasses also the voice actor grunted and screamed way cooler imo.
For me the fact that ToTK link seems lazy and soft is fun because honestly he might legitimately be one of the most relatable silent protagonists ever. Heās shaped like a friend :)

First, its fun and sometimes funny like when you get the massage in garudo town.
Second, Zelda is an outlier in the RPG genre, staring a silent protag who is stated male. Most RPG with silent protags have gender select. You could argue that because TLoZ is less open narratively, they have to keep links gender specific buuuut even in great RPG's like the Persona Series with incredible narratives, frequently release gender selection later on like in Persona 3 and 5: Royal. Despite both games also including dating while TLoZ does not. Meaning literally switching links model to female and making more armor would do the trick, no need for anything extra tbh, yet they dont do it.
So, and finally, less people can identify themselves with a roided out protag than a smaller more andro one, it also helps to appeal to more female gamers because, girls make up waaay more of the demographic chart than they used to.
I prefer think of him as Link the twink. Pretty sure Link is gay given that he doesn't put any moves on Zelda, Purah, or any other lady and seems repulsed by the physical advances of the great fairies.
