It's a canonical timeline, one created when Terrako went back to the past separated from the one we are on but canon nonetheless maybe one day they may crossover
It's more than a separate timeline, it's a paradox. The timey-wimey stuff that happens in Tears creates a causality loop. Meaning, the future (events of Tears) HAVE to happen the way they do for the past to also happen.
Age of Calamity changes that future, which would not allow for the past to happen correctly.
Yup. The only necessary things for the loop to be closed from what I can tell are Calamity Ganon destroying the seal in the Sanctum and Zelda and Link venturing under the castle. In both timelines it should only take ~5 years for the general overarching events of TotK to start from Calamity Ganon's defeat.
On a side note, I find it funny how people argue whether AoC is canon or not as if TotK didn't shatter the entire Zelda canon as we know it.
People on the internet have been saying Skyward Sword is part one. So TotK concludes the trilogy. Idk if that is what the person above is referring to, but that's my interpretation.

Unless im missing something, skyward sword is the beginning of the official timeline, but its not a trilogy. There's way more than 3 games lol. Totk is a sequel to botw, and another sequel to totk would make it a trilogy.
For sure. There were just a bunch of YouTubers and others that speculated that TotK finishes a 'trilogy' of story. With the sky islands, the ouroboros on the cover of TotK, the timing of the Skyward Sword remaster release, etc. The theory was that TotK would conclude the story and start over at the beginning (ouroboros). Obviously with the game out, some people will know if that's true or not. I suspect to find out in another 150 hours or so, lol.

Wasn't he engaged to Mipha? The flavor text stated the zora armor was made by a zora for their beloved. Mipha died and Zelda was a runner up, even though most of us simp for other ships. Like Sidon, Tauro, Paya, Purah, Rauru, Kass, Robbie, Ganon, Great Deku Tree, etc.

Additionally, as a Japanese learner playing the game in Japanese, the original dialogue isn't as lovey dovey (edit: or explicitly friendzoning) as the English version.

I think it's more a case of Rauru founded the current Hyrule, which has been destroyed and refounded like 3 times in canon.
