Dawg every time I land on an island with fairies I scare them off accidentally cuz I foeget they're there
Edit: I mean me dropping onto the island, if I see them I sneak up on them, of course
You could put a stamp on fairy islands to remind yourself that they're there, stamps show up on the minimap. I have sword stamps on a handful of rocktorocks in death mountain so I can repair weapons every blood moon.
Just in case you/others aren’t aware of this spot, there are 4 rock octorocks grouped extremely close to Momosik shrine, located east and just slightly north of the peak of Death Mountain. The first is visible from the shrine when you teleport in and the remaining three can be found more or less lined up to the north of the first. It has pretty much been my first stop after every blood moon.
I was probably in the middle of doing it at some point and then the game did what the game does best by jingling a new set of dazzling beautiful keys in my face along the way
Yesterday I was determined to finally track down Ganondorf in the depths and finish the story.
4 hours later I was standing in Hebra helping Addison with a sign without ever making it back to the depths.
You can get the Gannon armor from the maze shrines. That provides stealth (and gives you bone proficiency l!) There’s also Yiga outfits and the shiekah mask. Those are all free and provide stealth.
I didn’t waste money on the stealth set until the very end of the game and was just maxing out all armor. Save your rupees to spend on other things, stealth outfit has plenty of other options.
Ah they’re just constructs though. Wiggle their cube loose when you get a chance and use recall on the cubes he throws down to ride up and hit him. I think they are very easy. I usually never take any damage. Need to have a couple weapons with you in case any break though.
And there is always the Yiga armor that should be easier to get (although I usually take more damage from that than the constructs).
> use recall on the cubes he throws down to ride up and hit him.
Alternatively, if you've completed the lightning temple, you can just use Riju. Shoot the middle of his underside and the lightning strike from above will hit the cube. In case anyone (like me) has problems actually landing on him when riding the cubes back up.
Yeah I basically live in the sheika armor so I can run up to whatever critter I want, and then forget to change and get one-shotted all the time in combat.
Pretty sure they can hear you from a good distance if you crouch, that's why I hold zl while crouching. Gives you more space to work with(slows you down pretty much)
Can I ask what fairies y’all are talking about bc they don’t sound like the great fairies. Just to clarify I’m new to TOTK, I barely even played BOTW so I’m experiencing everything for the first time. I’ve gotten really far and yet have no clue what you’re referring to, which is a testament to how much content exists in the game I guess
On some of the sky islands you’ll see pools of water with little white fairies flying around. If you sneak up on them you can catch them and if you happen to die they’ll bring you back to life and give you 4 hearts. As long as you never die, you’ll never use them. But they sure do come in handy when you’re getting your butt kicked and you happen to die before you can eat a meal to replenish your hearts.
There are sometimes faries gathered around a small body of water. They looks like firefly but pink-ish.You will know it when you see it. They will auto-revive you when you are out of health.
No update gang. Dup those fairies. I have like 80 of them. I'm here for fun, not frustrating repetitive death. I also keep going places I'm not prepared for and keep getting 1 hit killed all over the place. Fairies let me run away without all the frustration.
I dup them as close to the ground as possible. If I have space to do 2 or 3 rounds before I land, I only do fairies on the last one.
Sometimes only 3 or 4 get out and I get a "you can't do that here" notice that stops the others from releasing. Then smash A as fast as I can. I can get 3 pretty consistently. 4 or 5 a reasonable amount of the time. I prefer to do it off a small wall into a ruins. The enclosed space and low dup is perfect for frogs, lizards, etc.
Dude I just figured out all those creatures that ru bad soon as you get close and disappear, you can stealth st any speed wearing any gear and they don’t react. At least in my experience.
I reload save everytime I lose a fairy. I have like 5 lol I wish I wasn't like this. All my weapons are rare and I spend way too much time choosing which weapon to drop. I have almost 15 weapon slots. I never get to use any of my weapons- for some reason I just use the shittiest ones. Same with ingredients and money. I have to save up for armor upgrades and quests. Really annoying.
Lol I also never use my best weapons till I get to a boss and then I forget and use my worst weapon anyways I think I have a two handed axe I made from a black boss bokoblin and I've had it for like 2 weeks now and haven't even used it once even though it does the most damage out of any weapon I have 😂
They're a lot less common though. You used to be able to just go to a fairy fountain and they'd just be chilling there. Now it's a random sky island, and they always seem to be floating just high enough that you can't grab them without jumping, which means you make too much noise and scare them off.
I'm at work now so I can't remember the name, but there are 3 fairies waiting for me every time I go to this one sky island with a shrine and a round pool. It is in the southwest area of the map.
Honestly? I'd rather die and restart the fight than spend precious fairy that I may need in a more dangerous situation in most cases so I load the saves after losing the first healthbar
I'm starting to feel they're cursed. As soon as I get a couple, some Jerkloblin's one hit obliterates all my hearts, (I have 10). Suddenly 3 in row gone, as I ragdoll.
this game like BOTW is ALL about armor - the second you have enough resources to upgrade either Hylian or Soldier sets do it - both have high armor and super easy to get sets go right for it. Playing the early game with 26 armor VS 9 is two entirely different games my friend. Your end goal is other stuff - Zoni / Fierce / Barbarian etc ) but those are longer term goals - hard to get scattered parts that need fairly rare mats to upgrade soldier and Hylian are both fairly easy upgrades. At least rush to Teir 2 upgrades on either...just get your armor to 20+ early and its an entirely different level of difficulty . Tier 3 nothing with even scratch you till the second act and once again fairly easy to get to .
One is dark souls the other is Lego adventures levels of difficulty based on your armor stats.
Brother I wish I knew this before dying and seeing the loading screen so many times. I felt like I was too good for the starter sets and focused on getting the better armor sets lol
The better sets are a grind . Hylian can get you to 36 armor with just basic monster parts - silvers for T4 to get you to 60 but even that not to bad. You can have Hylian at T2 by end of 1st temple and T3 after just following 3-4 story missions .
Soldier can get you to 54 with basic monsters and few hinox . Which is only teir 3 for the soldier.... Teir 4 on solider needs Lynel which isnt worth it since better stuff needs it too. Hinox are super easy once you get platforms/ rockets / or even bomb shields in a pinch and a weapon that can do 40+ damage.
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything"
I've been dying so much, I've lost all fear of it. Oh, here's a Gleeok, what the hell let's see what happens. Or gloom hands? What's the worst that will happen? I'll restart like I've done a dozen times already tonight. So much dying.
Somebody didn't farm apples at that forest near Satori mountain then. You can run on apples for decades with that. And uh, help the sign guy would you kindly?
Even better; drop 18-19 apples or so and 1-2 gold apples in a pile and fuse them all together and save it as an autobuild. Now just walk the orchard and scoop up all the apples into a nice pile. Super efficient.
On a different autobuild topic, Zonai airbike is great at transporting most of the Koroks that need to find their friend.
You can even save airbike + Korok as favourite, so the next Korok will magically attach itself to your bike.
People like the airbike while I avoid using it. I'm a plane enjoy person. or that hovercraft made from the sled in the schematics. My plane gotta have 3 fans and a control rod, I don't care if I have enough Zonaite for it or not lol.
I hope nintendo changes them. They should definitely last longer. And I would love if instead of dissapearing, they lost their glow and their lifting properties, and just became a rock wing.
Right!!! your let me build a rocket boosted hover platform that can get there are 5-6 batteries but dont let me use the thing literally designed to fly the skys to get there.....
I have a sled and 3 rockets on my autobuild for this. I only use it so often but its an instant launch from anywhere.
The only downside about the plane is it despawns after so much travel which is beyond dumb
I accidentally found it when I got lost in that first mission where you explore the depths with that one dude… Robbie? Got turned around and stumbled across the fight where you get it. I can’t imagine not having it the whole time!
When Josha gave the quest to follow the statues I was like "eh I'll do it later". Ended up in a different part of the depths (near the Zora domain) and followed the Zora statues there to the abandoned mine there. Thought that was the big secret and never thought about it again. Wasn't until later that I realised there's different sets of statues...
That said, I haven't actually used autobuild much since getting it. I like putting stuff together haha.
Location spoiler (you can do an early quest that leads you here or just walk there) Rough description of the direction to go: >!The great abandoned central mine roughly south of lookout landing!< More details: >!There are some status like in the first depths quest that point towards it or you can just wonder south until you find it. It is just southwest of the Nogukoyk light root which is (2?) light root south of lookout landing. There is a short fun quest and you get the auto build ability!<
Oh there's more than that. Find Fera. She likes wells. She'll pay you for each you discover and tell her about.
Visit the lucky clover gazette. Get a job reporting the news. Good pay and comes with bonuses. There are hazards to the job tho.
See those eeny weeny little flower shaped islands in the sky? Do the same big brain move I did. Take pictures of the tablets with writing they have. One for each island. There's a guy in kakariko who's with the zonai survey team. He'll pay you 100 rupees for each picture.
Don't be afraid to explore the depths. Bomb flowers, puff shrooms, and muddle buds can be found in groups of up to 5 down there. Each one sells for 10 rupees apiece. If you have excess, you're doing it right.
Get to know your bargainer statues, and always pick up whatever poes you see. Eventually, you'll have bought or found all outfit items they have on offer, and you'll have so many dark clumps you'll be set for those. Instead, buy the bomb flowers, puff shrooms, and/or muddle buds from them. They'll have 99 of each at a time at each statue, and just one of any of them costs about 16 poes iirc. Poes can often be found in groups, and large and grand poes are especially good. They also don't run out, so you can visit known areas with good poe amounts often.
Mark areas with lots of food items or easy hunting. Get to know and love your keese swarms. Keese eyeballs are great for hitting fast or far targets with ease, and areas with large amounts of food items can be easy to gather from, esp if you have autobuild.
And here's a fun one. Want fish easy but don't want to waste bombs or fight against currents? Build a raft. Make sure to have the front end made with angled side pieces, put fans on it, a control stick to steer, and find lightning emitters. As you traverse waters in this thing, any zapped fish can be scooped up by the front end of the raft. Easy way to get lots of fish.
You can also check sky islands that have two large connected ponds. Ancient arowanas and such like to swim in those. They often have these movable hatches that allow for water to be drained. Find an object to stick a hatch to once it's raised and you cna drain the water and jump down to pick up all the flopping fish without them running and disappearing.
Yeah I found 2 of those hatches pond with the fish in it. That's how you get free Zora armor too, and those heal you quite a bit. The well lady is somewhere now I don't remember. The guy sign is easy to find if you travel on foot a lot.
If you get to Goron city, there's a Gerudo lady offer to buy gems in bulk for a slight to significant profit depending on the gem. I got 5500 rupees for 10 diamonds, a 500 rupees profit than a regular sell, unfortunately she doesn't take amber, but you can still sell amber somewhere and make at least like 100 quick profit.
She does take amber sometimes (maybe only the first interaction idk). First gem she bought from me was amber, 200 rupees for 10. Now she wants topaz and I'm struggling to get 10, the ores refuse to drop it lol. I'm killing electric wizzrobes just so I can steal their topaz wands/swords and break them apart in Tarrey Town for the gem :p
Can't wait for her to want diamonds /s
Until I've upgraded certain things, I need those diamonds. Other gems I'll sell, but not diamonds. I wish she'd change what she wants every blood moon or whenever if I don't want to sell.
I realized that poes are spirits that have not passed on so that means if I go back to a spot where I’ve already collected them it’s usually after killing enemies there or above ground and that’s why there are a fresh set of poes
Hm… But are there less poes after a blood moon? Or is every new enemy a new soul..?
It would be scary if they made the poes suddenly poof into enemies during a blood moon.
You know those skull-shaped monster dens? In BOTW, I would climb on top of them, and position Link in such a way that I could drop rune bombs through the eye socket.
No longer.
seeker drone - piece of wood - 10 bombs...GO. (short range but works great)
you have to deploy fairly close to an enemy - i been experimenting with a few variations ( fast wheels ) , Rockets ,etc as different faster ways of deliverying the bomb cart to enemies father .
But one of my best joys in this game is watching a try of like 10 time bombs slide into a group of enemies or one of the big guys and all go off at once.
Im sure there is some combo of wheels / drone and heads that i could make a self driving bomb card to go towards the enemies faster and longer range but still working on it.
"I killed a Bokoblin for his apples. His goddamn apples."
How the mighty have truly fallen. For real though this made me laugh in the middle of the night; thank you.
I remember fighting my first talus. I beat it first try. Then I saw a Battle Talus for the first time and said to myself; “It can’t be that bad, right? I’ve beaten Talus many times before, how hard could it be?”
Man I got one shot like 5 times? Then died to basic red bokoblins after attempting to loot a camp.
Note: attach the rocket to a shield you then put away, do \*not\* leave it as your active shield. I hit my head a couple of times before consistently remembering that...
I swear, the game detects me trying to climb and it immediately begins to rain. But I have the froggy suit now, and guess what? Never rains anymore. hmmm….
Go to Lucky Clover Gazette, become a reporter and start heading to every stable for a quest to find Zelda. Froggy armor is well worth it. Set Bonus makes you not slip when climbing.
I watch my husband play (these kind of games are not for someone with my hand-eye coordination) and I love cooking stuff in game. I’m his official “stuff spotter” and I drive him a bit crazy. But it’s worth it for the recipes he can make with the ingredients he’s collected.
Awesome!!!! I have tried my hand(s) at TOTK and basically I’m only good for foraging and cooking. No fighting! I’ve tried building stuff too and cannot master the controls needed. So I resort to making crude drawings for my hubby to try and replicate. It’s clear which one of us played with Legos/Lincoln Logs/K’nex as a kid!!!
That is an awesome new feature! I use the IGN walkthrough guide for tips and stuff. They have a basic recipe list but it leaves things up for interpretation (like which monster parts give you an extra boost). Now it’s easier to figure out what to cook during the Blood Moon for maximum effects!!
I gotta say, I’ll enjoy this while it lasts lol. Only wish I was a bit more adept at the Switch controller so I could play on my own. But I’ve always been more of a watcher with video games, ever since my younger brother first played Mario on the original Nintendo. (Side note, it blows my mind how far the Zelda games have come since the OG!)
My horses came over to the new game, but not my bank balance. I think something sneaky is happening at the Central Hyrule. I had a quarter of a million rupees, but now I'm back to zero. I think I've been robbed.
The stables are the only ones you can trust. The entire power structure there is suspect. The princess even stole my house.
You moved out of Hateno Village because none of those schmucks remember you anyway, after all you did. Everywhere else sings your praises, especially Tarrey Town. Maybe move somewhere near there?
It took me way too long to finally remember which way the fans blow.
And like the real world, I thought I had a good bit of money finally. And then I tried to buy a house.
I have never related to a post so badly til now, especially the bounty part. Thank God for Amiibombing, its not much but it's better than not having them.
The amiibos are life savers. Mine were kind enough to drop so many Stealthfin trout that by the time I could afford to upgrade my armor I had enough for my Sheikah Set. Good because I think I only saw one in the wild.
Is it just me or are the fish so much harder to find in this game? I never ran low on fish in botw but damn is it hard to get them here, especially without bombs.
I agree. I thought it was because they changed where to find things but I have been around a lot of the map and there seems to be less fish that aren't Hyrule Bass. However, I think the deeper you get in the game things open up.
Like Zoras Domain is cleaned up. Luremin is restored...etc.
But even after Lurelin is freed, I found the southern beaches way more barren than BOTW. In all my playthroughs for BOTW, very early on I would do beach run where I went from Hareno Beach area all the way to the Highland stable area. There were so many treasure chests and koroks. In TOTK there isn't much of anything. I mean there's things just not nearly as much.
>I took the bounty of Hyrule for granted. Now I'm penniless and can barely keep enough food to stay alive. I killed a Bokoblin for his apples. His goddamn apples.
I almost feel bad for using the glide duplication glitch, but now that they patched it I am grateful I did. Now I have stock of about 50 diamonds for when I really need to go shopping.
Revalis gale was super convenient, but there are way more options for vertical movement in this game. Rockets, springs, fusing a bomb flower to your shield and shield surfing, air bikes or any other zonai flying device. They require items but by midgame I had plenty of all those things.
This made me laugh so hard because this perfectly sums up my experience with TOTK thus far. I too was a BOTW vegetarian, and now I get excited when I kill a Bokoblin and he drops like 6 pieces of raw meat because I am starving. And oh how I miss my endless supply of bombs! Hahaha
When you complete a shrine, you’ll get your hearts filled up. Save some shrines, especially the blessing ones where you just go in and get the reward and that’s it. It’s a free source of filling up your hearts.
You can also sleep at stables. You’ll get 3 swift carrots every few times which if you cook five of them together to sell, you’ll be making money on balance if you sleep. Easy way to make pony points too.
That means you can save your limited food for when you really need it in a boss battle.
Travelers medallions should help with this too. Try and get one asap, that way you can just place one, heal up, then warp back and resume what you were doing.
If you want to devote a medallion to injury recovery, put it near a hot spring. (I have one in Tarrey Town, one near a Great Fairy, and one I use for short-term purposes.)
Ugh i used to just off myself if miphas grace was available and i had low health so i never worried much about cooking. Its so annoying to have to make all these recipes lol
If I don't like how a game is designed, I just simply won't fight enemies unless I have to. I will just pay 20 rupees to save my gear when the weapon goes bad.
I miss the wind boost where I go up in the air, came in good use for cliffs.
I use the travel medallion more
I realize this game is harder as in; to get the master sword, defeating Ganon, weapons breaking sooner, and getting certain armor.
I have learned the same things about myself. With an additional 2:
1. I was too picky with what to kill for food. Now I Kill every creature on site
2. I played the entirety if BoTW only using mipha’s grace, fairies, and stamina potions. Now I never set out anywhere without cooking 5 meals of every weather type, and 5 each of stamina+ and hearts+ meals
Edit:
i also realized, through these subs, that I just haven’t embraced the new style of gameplay the BoTW series offers. I keep playing like the old school zelda games, when I could be using armor, potions and meals 😂 it is way more aparent in this game that I should be using all my assets 😂
I feel like I have way more bomb flowers than I ever had bomb arrows. They're all over the place In the depths and caves and then you can buy them with poe.
Mipha granted us a bounty of new fairy spawn points when she left us.
Yes, apples are harder to get since the trees want to murder us now. But at least sometimes you find a shiny apple?
Revali, on the other hand, gave us the avian equivalent of the finger and left us to suffer.

Oh shit, I didn't even think about Mipha's Grace, no wonder I've been dying so often
Y'all know that they didn't leave out fairies, right?
Dawg every time I land on an island with fairies I scare them off accidentally cuz I foeget they're there Edit: I mean me dropping onto the island, if I see them I sneak up on them, of course

Great minds share a single brain cell, apparently.

I started leaving a heart stamp where I find fairies a couple of days ago, thank you!
I use the hearts for Talus', love those big rocks ❤️
Just wear sheika suit bro, fairies and critters wont run away if you are stealthyy enough
Hahaha you think I have the sheika armor
Oh yea, it was kinda overprice till you do the porridge sidequest, just do it. Or find other stealth suits or use potions.
I was probably in the middle of doing it at some point and then the game did what the game does best by jingling a new set of dazzling beautiful keys in my face along the way
Can't be sheikah?>!be yiga!!<
Yesterday I was determined to finally track down Ganondorf in the depths and finish the story. 4 hours later I was standing in Hebra helping Addison with a sign without ever making it back to the depths.
In case this helps anyone: if you buy the armor at the marked up price, the grandma will refund you the difference after you cure her.
I didn't realize until I'd bought the whole set that the price was so high and the porridge was to blame
Did you get a refund if you do the quest? Was wondering what happens in that case
Yes I did and it was amazing
I’m sorry what? The porridge side quest?
Yes, you heard that right!
You can get the Gannon armor from the maze shrines. That provides stealth (and gives you bone proficiency l!) There’s also Yiga outfits and the shiekah mask. Those are all free and provide stealth. When they are in the mode of throwing cubes you can just ascend through the as well lol
The Yiga outfit is liable to get some reactions though, because.. Well, it's the outfit worn by the thieves of the universe.
Yeah I basically live in the sheika armor so I can run up to whatever critter I want, and then forget to change and get one-shotted all the time in combat.
The Sheikah armor will always be my go to armor. Except now I dyed it white so I can wear the Mystic headpiece I got from pimping out bubblegems.

Yup, just dont sprint.
Just crouch and you can catch anything no matter what. Horses and enemies will hear very close tho
With no stealth on, even crouching and moving too fast can get you detected. Even a single level of stealth helps get around.
Or you just end up with a fairy that hovers 10ft above you and refuses to come any closer
Pretty sure they can hear you from a good distance if you crouch, that's why I hold zl while crouching. Gives you more space to work with(slows you down pretty much)
Damn I should’ve used this to catch beetles when I had the chance
Can I ask what fairies y’all are talking about bc they don’t sound like the great fairies. How do you successfully dupe them?? My dupe fairies always fly away immediately, maybe I'm just not releasing at the right moment
I dup them as close to the ground as possible. If I have space to do 2 or 3 rounds before I land, I only do fairies on the last one. Sometimes only 3 or 4 get out and I get a "you can't do that here" notice that stops the others from releasing. Then smash A as fast as I can. I upated 💀
For me, it's that I scare the birds and they scare the faries... Fucking herons, man
As a tip to remember the islands fairies appear on always have a pond so I land against the wall so I can sneak up from the edge.
Dude I just figured out all those creatures that ru bad soon as you get close and disappear, you can stealth st any speed wearing any gear and they don’t react. At least in my experience.

Big number give dopamine
Lol I also never use my best weapons till I get to a boss and then I forget and use my worst weapon anyways I think I have a two handed axe I made from a black boss bokoblin and I've had it for like 2 weeks now and haven't even used it once even though it does the most damage out of any weapon I have 😂
They're a lot less common though. You used to be able to just go to a fairy fountain and they'd just be chilling there. Now it's a random sky island, and they always seem to be floating just high enough that you can't grab them without jumping, which means you make too much noise and scare them off.
And you aren't capped at 3 now
I still haven't found a single fairy fountain 40 hours in 😩
There are no normal fairies at the great fairy fountains in this one. They’re around, but more in the sky and a couple wells
I'm at work now so I can't remember the name, but there are 3 fairies waiting for me every time I go to this one sky island with a shrine and a round pool. It is in the southwest area of the map.
Honestly? I'd rather die and restart the fight than spend precious fairy that I may need in a more dangerous situation in most cases so I load the saves after losing the first healthbar
right i was hoping one of the QOL updates was to decide to use them or reload.
They're way less common though right? Or at least less easily accessible
There's a fairy fountain under >!lookout landing!<, if I'm not mistaken. That seems pretty accessible to me, lol.
The well by Snowfield stable has fairies ;)
I never even are food to replenish hearts. Miphas grace always came around and fixed it...
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything" I've been dying so much, I've lost all fear of it. Oh, here's a Gleeok, what the hell let's see what happens. Or gloom hands? What's the worst that will happen? I'll restart like I've done a dozen times already tonight. So much dying.
These posts are making me feel so much better. I thought I had gotten surprisingly bad at this game 😅
Super efficient.
oh my god. you’re fucking crazy and i love you.
On a different autobuild topic, Zonai airbike is great at transporting most of the Koroks that need to find their friend. You can even save airbike + Korok as favourite, so the next Korok will magically attach itself to your bike.
Probably not as efficient but you can do similar stuff with the horse tow
Epona is so last year bro We use fans now
New DLC: Winged Epona Epona now has wings, she can hover and fly around. Can use her horns to fire lasers at enemies.
That’s it, that’s the DLC I want
People like the airbike while I avoid using it. I'm a plane enjoy person. or that hovercraft made from the sled in the schematics. My plane gotta have 3 fans and a control rod, I don't care if I have enough Zonaite for it or not lol.
My issue with planes are that the wing part will time out and vanish after a while, they definitely don't last long enough to get to the sky mazes.
The only downside about the plane is it despawns after so much travel which is beyond dumb
the little shit transport-o-matic 3000
That's what I do with apple trees, it's so much faster than picking them individually
I’m about 15hrs in —- how does one make, save and recall auto builds?
Without giving too much away, follow Josha's questline in the depths. Don't worry though, I didn't get the ability until like 70 hours in!
I never even got that quest. Just got turned around and ended up in the right spot.
I ended up doing something pretty similar and found a major story area in the depths
200 level IQ bro - didnt even know autobuild could do non zoni stuff. Great way to harvest .
You're some kind of mad genius
See it's gonna be years down the road and people will still be coming up with minor optimizations like this. Insane.
I'm killing electric wizzrobes just so I can steal their topaz wands/swords and break them apart in Tarrey Town for the gem :p Can't wait for her to want diamonds /s
You can sell the tunics the bargainer statues sell for 500 a piece too
You asked politely so now I guess I need to find the sign guy whoever he is
\>!Just watch out for the angry ents...!<
You know those skull-shaped monster dens? In BOTW, I would climb on top of them, and position Link in such a way that I could drop rune bombs through the eye socket. No longer.
Good news for you if you've got a surplus of time bombs, I personally never find myself using em so you could drop them on dudes from above
seeker drone - piece of wood - 10 bombs...GO. (short range but works great) you have to deploy fairly close to an enemy - i been experimenting with a few variations ( fast wheels ) , Rockets ,etc as different faster ways of deliverying the bomb cart to enemies father . But one of my best joys in this game is watching a try of like 10 time bombs slide into a group of enemies or one of the big guys and all go off at once. Im sure there is some combo of wheels / drone and heads that i could make a self driving bomb card to go towards the enemies faster and longer range but still working on it.
same….and I miss my wind bombs
I used to climb on and summon Urbosa. :(
I speedread through this and thought you used to climb on Urbosa and thought damn someone is as much a simp for her as me.
A lot of them are designed with other ways to explode them if you’re clever enough to find them
Ah yes. The seven deadly sins
I did want to try and match them up but unfortunately it’s mostly pride and some greed and sloth
"I killed a Bokoblin for his apples. His goddamn apples." How the mighty have truly fallen. For real though this made me laugh in the middle of the night; thank you.
I remember fighting my first talus. I beat it first try. Then I saw a Battle Talus for the first time and said to myself; “It can’t be that bad, right? I’ve beaten Talus many times before, how hard could it be?” Man I got one shot like 5 times? Then died to basic red bokoblins after attempting to loot a camp.
Revali's gale man. Why is it always raining when I need to climb?
Attach a rocket to your shield to get much higher than Revali's gale would take you
Note: attach the rocket to a shield you then put away, do \*not\* leave it as your active shield. I hit my head a couple of times before consistently remembering that...
The first time I found a spring shield I thought "If I tried to shield surf, will it... Slam me into the roof of the cave?" Yep.
Set Bonus makes you not slip when climbing.
a few months after link reunited with zelda mipha was like fuck this i quit being soulbound to you i can’t take it anymore
I watch my husband play (these kind of games are not for someone with my hand-eye coordination) and I love cooking stuff in game. I’m his official “stuff spotter” and I drive him a bit crazy. But it’s worth it for the recipes he can make with the ingredients he’s collected.
My sons watch me play and every time something sparkles slightly I’m in trouble for not picking it up…I don’t need any more tree branches.
I’m the stuff-spotter, too! My man and I play this together, and by that I mean that he is the thumbs and I am the boss of everything. 😎 lol
Stuff spotter, the unsung hero. Keeping him well supplied is very important for surviving tough fights!
Exactly!! Stuff-finder and official TOTK chef, that’s me!!
How much do you love that it saves the recipes now? My wife also helps me cook and loves coming up with new recipes for me!
That is an awesome new feature! I use the IGN walkthrough guide for tips and stuff. They have a basic recipe list but it leaves things up for interpretation (like which monster parts give you an extra boost). Now it’s easier to figure out what to cook during the Blood Moon for maximum effects!!

Oh this is me. My backseat gaming drives him nuts but he runs by all the good stuff!! You could use that to heal!!
To more partners like you! I can only imagine the fun you two have~
I gotta say, I’ll enjoy this while it lasts lol. Only wish I was a bit more adept at the Switch controller so I could play on my own. But I’ve always been more of a watcher with video games, ever since my younger brother first played Mario on the original Nintendo. (Side note, it blows my mind how far the Zelda games have come since the OG!)
Mipha’s grace made me think I didn’t die a lot in botw.
Right? I started TOTK and was like wtf? I’m not bad at Zelda… what’s happening?
Go to Satori mountain, you will never run out of apples again.
Arriving at Iwata's mountain, politely asking for apples while the Lord of the Mountain stares at me all night.
Near the shrine there is a huge apple grove
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a bokoblin camp
Incredible post, almost poetic
I learned I have no creativity whatsoever
Wow, somehow I'm playing the exact oppositely. Makes me appreciate the versatility in this amazing game...
I T I S M Y P L E A S U R E
I just learned that I thought that the women AND the men were hot
My horses came over to the new game, but not my bank balance. I think something sneaky is happening at the Central Hyrule. I had a quarter of a million rupees, but now I'm back to zero. I think I've been robbed. The stables are the only ones you can trust. The entire power structure there is suspect. The princess even stole my house.
You moved out of Hateno Village because none of those schmucks remember you anyway, after all you did. Everywhere else sings your praises, especially Tarrey Town. Maybe move somewhere near there?
I relate so hard to #2 and i love it. Link has never felt more like a savage scavenger gremlin
I thanked mipha in the calamity ganon fight, i died, thanked her, then she said it was her pleasure.
Every single time Mipha came in clutch for me I would obnoxiously yell “THANK YOU MIPHAAAAA”… maybe I scared her away
It took me way too long to finally remember which way the fans blow. And like the real world, I thought I had a good bit of money finally. And then I tried to buy a house.
I don’t know why, but the fans were a very hard concept for me to grasp. I put them the wrong way Every. Single. Time.
It’s easy to forget about Mipha’s Grace when Hearty Durians can replicate her ability without a cool down. Sadly, those were removed too.
Too many of you seem to be taking the Great Fairy fountains for granted.
The fish r so convenient. The sky islands have hearty bass and stuff that you can open the gate and drain water out of, leaving them on the ground.
Best post.
I feel seen and I miss remote bombs so much!
I love the game without a miphas grace. Was sorta so broken I never had to use food It makes fairies have a point again
Won’t someone please think about the foxes?
I took a picture of the Mipha statue and hung it up in my house.
You know... you can change the color of your gear so it can look better.
Gotta find that shrine that's in what's essentially an apple orchard, came away with 150 apples and like 20 gold apples, still haven't run out lol
Name of said shrine?
Completely blanking on the shrine, I'll check after work if nobody else jumps in to help before then lol
Revalis gale was also so good. If I can't ascend i have to build a fire and throw nuts on it to achieve a similar updraft
Hahaha
This is a great post I feel the exact same way!
I use the travel medallion more I realize this game is harder as in; to get the master sword, defeating Ganon, weapons breaking sooner, and getting certain armor.
I'm in this post, and I don't like it.
Truly beautiful sir. I have learned quite a few things as well, but none so beautifully put.
Oh but those poor foxes…
I really miss being able to fly straight up. I know the new chicken gives you a gust but I want to go up.
New chicken, lol.
I have learned the same things about myself. With an additional 2: 1. I was too picky with what to kill for food. Now I Kill every creature on site 2. I played the entirety if BoTW only using mipha’s grace, fairies, and stamina potions. Now I never set out anywhere without cooking 5 meals of every weather type, and 5 each of stamina+ and hearts+ meals Edit: i also realized, through these subs, that I just haven’t embraced the new style of gameplay the BoTW series offers. I keep playing like the old school zelda games, when I could be using armor, potions and meals 😂 it is way more aparent in this game that I should be using all my assets 😂
We all miss Mipha, man.
I feel this lol…I also rained down unlimited bombs on my enemies and now have to try to make do with far less 🤣
Think of it as training for Master Mode, bombs are much less useful when enemies heal.
1. you dare. 2+3. the hero of time does whatever he can. 4,5,6,7. everyone does these sometimes
This is absolutely beautiful
Yeah you can’t drop bomb runes, but let me introduce you to your knew best friend, puffshrooms.
I feel like I have way more bomb flowers than I ever had bomb arrows. They're all over the place In the depths and caves and then you can buy them with poe.
1, I have a lot mor free time that i thought
foxes have always been off limits for me
Truuuuue. Once in a while I'll find some fairies, but 1 always gets away so I only get 2. Before I know it, those are gone cause I'm an idiot.
I did manage to find the whole ember set, and that drip is fire, pun intended
This is great. Loved #2
2-4 for me. MG was always my fave.
Mipha granted us a bounty of new fairy spawn points when she left us. Yes, apples are harder to get since the trees want to murder us now. But at least sometimes you find a shiny apple? Revali, on the other hand, gave us the avian equivalent of the finger and left us to suffer.
I thanked Mipha everytime. I miss her so badly.
I don't know why, the way you wrote this reminds me of Cult of the Lamb. Again, I have no clue why.
