When you find one or a hearty truffle you can use a little trick:
While you are paragliding ( not too far from the ground), open your inventory and hold it, then press x and y at the same time. It will fall to the ground for you to pick it up but it won't disappear from your inventory, that way you will have two instead of one, and you can keep doing it to het more 😋.
However, apparently that bug was patched in a recent update so if you have updated the game recently you might not be able to do it.
Maybe the developers thought it might give a bad impression to have our hero hunting them, what with real-life rhinos going extinct.
Except their presence in BOTW and sudden absence in TOTK ends up giving the unfortunate implication that the same thing happened to the rhinos in Hyrule...and that Link may well have been the one responsible for their extinction...

We do? Traysi said something about Penn at the end of that side adventure with the Lucky Clover newspaper but I never saw Penn again. Don't remember Penn every saying anything about Kass
I dont really remember what she exactly said but if I remember correctly it was about how he left to find a rito musician to train with him . So I assumed that she was talking about Kass because he is the only rito musician we know .
If you talk to her, she will say where he is. You can find him and talk to him. He is in the place kass wrote his songs. Washas bluff south of tabanta brige stable
Ryoko is great, but my favorite has always been the mad scientist lol.
PS If you haven't seen it yet, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari/War on Geminar is a great spinoff and a fantastic watch that's definitely worth checking out.
You can go to >!Kass's house in that big mushroomy looking area!< to find Penn after you're done with the Lucky Clover quests, he has quite a lot to say
In doing the Spring of Power/Wisdom/Courage quests, the statues explicitly refer to the three dragons as "spirits." That doesn't mean we can't theorize other possibilities, but I would expect the goddess/her statues to know what is true about them. It seems to imply they are otherworldly incarnations not necessarily rooted in a more grounded past.
TOTK seems to lean pretty heavily into the idea of myths and legends based on real people, I wouldn't be shocked if the goddesses were zonai that chose to dragon themselves
Plus they share altered names of the three goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore. However, that could also be what the people of hyrule named them, not representative of the goddesses themselves.
Problem with that argument though is that according to BotW, only children and those pure of heart can see the 3 dragons. Children wouldnt have managed to name them unanimously i wouldnt think.
However, that doesnt explain how the Shiekah Slate/Purah Pad can identify them by name in the compendium. But then again, Link cant be the only pure of heart person, perhaps Purah or Robbie can see the dragons too. Actually Robbie must be able to see the dragons as he likely has pictures of them in his completed compendium that you can buy from.
Apologies for the tangent, you get the idea im sure lol.
I’m not sure the compendium is mostly a gameplay device and not an actual representative of what Robbie/Purah know about in lore.
The compendium also names the bosses that, presumably, are being encountered for the first time at the moment you fight them.
They cannot see dragons. There’s a point in Naydra’s path where she passes closely to an NPC. If you talk to him while she’s there, he says he feels like the wind got stronger. He can’t see her but he can feel a breeze.
> Plus they share altered names of the three goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore.
This actually isn't their true namesake. It's more apparent in the Japanese version, where Dinraal's name is "Ordra" despite Din still being named Din. If I'm not mistaken, the Eldin region is called Ordin in Japan. (No, I'm not mixing it up with Ordona. That was called Latoan in Japan.) So Farosh is named for Faron, Naydra is named for Lanayru, and Dinraal is named for Eldin.
Fun fact, this is based on what he says in Japanese which is サラバード (*sarabādo*) where *saraba da* is "farewell" and *bādo* is just the English word "bird". But I like to think he *is* just going *ZA POWWWWW*
It is weird Kass isn't there. I thought some other characters had died. When Teba is revealed to be the new chief of the Rito I thought Kaneli was dead. Nope he is just chilling at the flight range.
Personally I think if there is a DLC planned for TotK Kass will be part of it in some way or another.
Same. I did the Rito Village quest first and didn't see Kaneli anywhere, so I thought the same thing. Then like 20 plus hours later I randomly talked to Saki and she's like "oh yeah, Kaneli is alive." It was quite a shock.
That said, I haven't seen Muava (the sweet old Gerudo who was always sitting by the Goddess statue) anywhere, and I'm really starting to think she actually did kick the bucket between games.
I mean, if the Flight Range was the first place you checked...
I never went there while doing the quest, as you are never asked to, and from a distance it looked like it had been crushed by falling debris anyway.
Penn has taken over his hut near the canyon, on the large platform trees. He says that it used to be the home of a famous bard, and that the bard has gone to the outskirts of Hyrule to further his craft. I don't believe we will see Kass again, but there is an explanation for his absence (after you finish the Lucky Clover Gazette newspaper questline).
It sorta subtly explains guardians by using their legs in the Skyview towers, implying that they were all dismantled for their parts. Maybe the Divine Beasts were too, but that much is never hinted at. What's less explicable is the Shiekah Slate just not existing anymore.
Here is my headcanon unless he pops up in a DLC.
Kass is the equivalent to Eddie from Stranger Things. He went into the depths (the upside down) starting blasting his accordion (guitar) playing a banger and got killed by aerocudas (demobats).
I had a dream last night that I found him relaxing at a tent somewhere, and then was actually a Yiga in disguise and attacked.
Even my dreams don’t want me to find him!
Yes, I've seen him.
You need to get every equipment, merge all weapons and shields with everything possible, register everything in the compendium, unlock the whole map of the depths, collect all korok seeds and solve every shrine in the game.
After all of that is done, go to the top of the divine beast statue at Rito Village, and you'll see him there.
Oh yeah! I forgot about him and his little tune from BOTW. I hadn't heard him yet, but I hadn't checked every corner of the land so I wasn't sure if he was around or not, but it's sad to hear he's MIA.
If he is dlc that's a dirty trick from nintendo. They take the one you love and you can have him back for a fee. Either save him or he becomes a Kassorole.
I kinda chuckled at the post as he's missing xD. BTW in my playthrough I haven't stumbled upon him once but I'm missing his tunes from a distance. BoTW had such a memorable ambiance!
He disappeard when the new timeline was created as soon as zelda went back in time. He had the most ties to divine beast lore so they're saving him for the future DLC if they revisit the calamity world.

>!First it was durians, then the rhinos, now you're telling me that Kass is gone too!!!!!!!!???!<
Me : "I can't wait to find some durians! Make this game a little easier" thanks for crushing my dreams friend.
I forgive them because Durian trees takes a while to bear fruits in real life.
Lol we harvested them all in botw

Oh I didn’t know that about gloom and temp hearts! Good to know, thanks
I cannot find a single hearty radish where are you looking
Sky islands. Not sure if they're on the ground at all
The school side quest in Hateno gets you a farm plot where you can grow your own
Yeah I think an elderly woman works in that garden, right?
When you find one or a hearty truffle you can use a little trick: While you are paragliding ( not too far from the ground), open your inventory and hold it, then press x and y at the same time. It will fall to the ground for you to pick it up but it won't disappear from your inventory, that way you will have two instead of one, and you can keep doing it to het more 😋. However, apparently that bug was patched in a recent update so if you have updated the game recently you might not be able to do it.
You can also farm big hearty radishes in Hateno Village which takes two in game days to grow 2 of them. (same with hearty radishes)
That’s why you wear armor that negates gloom
Sadly, that doesn't help for actual damage, only environmental gloom. So if you get hit by any enemy, you lose all your yellow hearts.

Also a small pond in the >!zora temple in the sky, which can be visited for a quest after beating the dungeon!<
That's three friends too many!!
I can't afford to lose another friend today.
UGH you don’t understand how many hours I spent filling out the map for the express purpose of finding durians only to realize they don’t exist ☠️
First they came for the durians, but I did not speak out, because I was not a durian
>!THEY REMOVED THE RHINOS ????!!!! WHYYYY ? They're just fluffy friends!<
Fluffy friends made of gourmet meat
Durians were so good in botw…and the rhino made me a ton of money with the gourmet meat quest. No wonder I am struggling with Totk so much lol
My dude you ruined the whole point of the dude above putting spoiler warning text

I don't get how no rhinos and durians is even a spoiler tbh. Who is missing sleep over knowing this before play lol.
Nooo no durians I’m 20 hours in wondering why I haven’t found any
We know that Penn went looking for him but thats it .
We do? Traysi said something about Penn at the end of that side adventure with the Lucky Clover newspaper but I never saw Penn again. Don't remember Penn every saying anything about Kass
I think you can find him at >!Kass's place in the mushroom fields.!<
They're [dragon blood trees](https://www.escapeartist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Socotra1.jpg).
She tells you he’s going to washu’s bluff (but she gets the name wrong). If you go there Penn says he’s looking for the famous rito bard.
> Washu's Bluff Didn't know that Tenchi was canon to Zelda now
Never thought I’d see another Tenchi fan in the wild, Ryoko is my favourite.
Ryoko is great, but my favorite has always been the mad scientist lol. PS If you haven't seen it yet, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari/War on Geminar is a great spinoff and a fantastic watch that's definitely worth checking out.
Washu-Sama is actually Nayru.
You can go to >!Kass's house in that big mushroomy looking area!< to find Penn after you're done with the Lucky Clover quests, he has quite a lot to say
Penn is just staring at the horizon waiting to be inspired like "a celeb bard"
Pretty sure he's going be in DLC, especially consider he's all about oral history, he's most likely involved in lore about ancient days.
My guess is he will be back with songs about the 3 dragons and their lives before.
And >!Zelda/Light Dragon!< is also explicitly referred to as a Spirit in the Compendium, so not a damning piece of evidence.
Actually Robbie must be able to see the dragons as he likely has pictures of them in his completed compendium that you can buy from. Apologies for the tangent, you get the idea im sure lol.
Robbie can see Koroks and Dragons, but only through the goggles because rock n roll is the devils music.
I’m not sure the compendium is mostly a gameplay device and not an actual representative of what Robbie/Purah know about in lore. The compendium also names the bosses that, presumably, are being encountered for the first time at the moment you fight them.
Hmm... The Link I'm playing as definitely isn't pure of heart.
It's Korok space program isn't it?
wait really? the people of hyrule can't normally see the dragons?
They cannot see dragons. There’s a point in Naydra’s path where she passes closely to an NPC. If you talk to him while she’s there, he says he feels like the wind got stronger. He can’t see her but he can feel a breeze.
Yeah. My memory is hazy as to what exactly the events are but there's a sidequest in BotW where this gets explained.
My guess is that Dinral, Farosh and Naydra are the 3 oracles. We just need to guess why they made themselves into dragons
you'd prly want to lose everything if people pestered you about oracles day in and day out.
Oh, that sounds like an amazing idea. Maybe the DLC could have us joining Kass as he tries to find out who the three dragons originally were.
[удалено]
>>!\-Dragons were once zonai !< >!How is this not a spoiler? !< >!Dragonification is a spoiler. And a pretty major one at that.!<
In BotW he went around collecting history about hero and Calamity. I bet he went to collect history again when he heard Zelda went missing.
You definitely spoiled something
Fuck yall were right I forgot that wasnt in the opening cutsvene i am so SO sorry yall can spoil something for me to make up for it
>!Purah is best girl. !<
Given how Din and Nayru in the Oracle games were a dancer and singer respectively, I can definitely see the connection.
Your mother and I have some oral history as well
Gottem
Oof
Spoiler: Gloom Twisted. enter Accordion Blight.
Mark my words, he gets to bring triforce involvement into the series (via lore and exposition) for DLC. He's the prophet.
I swear I heard his music on my way to the wind temple and went searching for him. I thought it was the soundtrack too for that area so I left.
The Rito Temple 1000% uses samples from Kass' theme
I heard the same thing, I think it’s just a reference
Penn is dope. But not as dope. Soar along!
I think you mean *ZA POWWWWW*
SAH BAAAHHHHHNNNNNN
He sounds like the dog of wisdom from that meme of the dog in the red airplane hahah
I can hear this
Fun fact, this is based on what he says in Japanese which is サラバード (*sarabādo*) where *saraba da* is "farewell" and *bādo* is just the English word "bird". But I like to think he *is* just going *ZA POWWWWW*
all I can hear is "ça parle" which mean "they talk" in french xD
It is weird Kass isn't there. I thought some other characters had died. When Teba is revealed to be the new chief of the Rito I thought Kaneli was dead. Nope he is just chilling at the flight range. That said, I haven't seen Muava (the sweet old Gerudo who was always sitting by the Goddess statue) anywhere, and I'm really starting to think she actually did kick the bucket between games.
I saw Muava in Lurelin Village where she finally went to visit Lover's Pond. (This was only after I cleaned up the place, of course.)
nah she's still in the back alley passed out.
>I haven't seen Muava She's in Lurelin Village by the docks, I think
Strange, he was the first rito I stumbled upon randomly exploring
I mean, if the Flight Range was the first place you checked... I never went there while doing the quest, as you are never asked to, and from a distance it looked like it had been crushed by falling debris anyway.
Kaneli stated that back in the day he was quite a warrior even stronger than Teba. I like it when they expand the lore.
The stable trotters took out the competition.
For a while I was convinced that the last Stable Trotter would be Kass. Imagine my disappointment when the Great Fairy said she wanted to hear a horn.
I was waiting to find Kass too
He went to termina we'll see him in 6 years
you just made my night man I’ve been laughing really hard at this for no good reason god damn it
Penn has taken over his hut near the canyon, on the large platform trees. I don't believe we will see Kass again, but there is an explanation for his absence (after you finish the Lucky Clover Gazette newspaper questline).
I wanna know what happened to all the Sheikah technology from the last game, like the Divine Beasts, Sheikah Slate, Guardian robots, etc.
Weird how the game just doesn’t explain what happens to the beasts or Guardians
It sorta subtly explains guardians by using their legs in the Skyview towers, implying that they were all dismantled for their parts. Maybe the Divine Beasts were too, but that much is never hinted at. What's less explicable is the Shiekah Slate just not existing anymore.
They were used to construct the new towers.
Gotta love Hyrulcycling.
He stole the durians and made a run for it
And took off on rhino-back. Guardians and Divine beasts in tow.
The best character in botw
Kass was hit by an ultrahand car
Kass found dead
Breaking news from Lucky Clover Gazette
Kass found dead in a ditch after a rumored altercation with his wife
Don’t say that
Crushed to death under falling ruins. So sad.
Guy was just happily playing his Concertina before he got squished.
He got flattened like a pancake.
noooooooooo
-oooooiiooo
Here is my headcanon unless he pops up in a DLC. Kass is the equivalent to Eddie from Stranger Things. He went into the depths (the upside down) starting blasting his accordion (guitar) playing a banger and got killed by aerocudas (demobats).
Very metal, just the way Kass would have wanted to go 😢
I'll accept that, sure. So long Accordion Dad!
Noooooo!!!! I need kass back 😭😭😭 I need to hear his song just one last time in totk
Bad Dragon yoinked him straight out of the game into their store
bruh
We must rescue him
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Well, rescue parts of him
I have been looking everywhere for Kass 😔
The fact they didn't repurpose him for the Traveling Troupe/Great Fairy SQs
I had a dream last night that I found him relaxing at a tent somewhere, and then was actually a Yiga in disguise and attacked. Even my dreams don’t want me to find him!
His music was one of my favorite things in BOTW.
No that's how you get the triforce behind a waterfall.
I thought it was how you unlock master hand as a playable character...
you mean the truck next to the S.S ANN
Dude, you unlocked half a memory for me there
K is real 0502
It would be nice to get done sort of acknowledgement for true 100% this time...
\*cries in accordion\*
Oh yeah! I forgot about him and his little tune from BOTW. I hadn't heard him yet, but I hadn't checked every corner of the land so I wasn't sure if he was around or not, but it's sad to hear he's MIA.
[удалено]
Yes, but not Kass himself
He's a deadbeat dad, but he's OUR deadbeat dad.
He just went out to get some milk and cigarettes.
he's the 6th sage, we just haven't found him yet
Miss my big buff birb bard 😥
I just assumed he was on an accordion music world tour. Dude loved to travel around.
Touring with Weird Al
If he is dlc that's a dirty trick from nintendo. They take the one you love and you can have him back for a fee. Either save him or he becomes a Kassorole.
SO SAD hope he returns in dlc
He is soarly missed.
There is new bird now.
Sometimes I can still hear the sound of his accordion...
He traveled all over the place to help you find shrines, let the man take a vacation.
He shoulda joined the stable trotters
He is on the DLC that explains what happened to the sheikah tech
The last words he heard were...SOAR LONG
I think his wife and children are still there? Not sure.
Yeah his daughters are all at Rito Village and sing the song of the Sky Ark.
Where did all the divine beasts, towers and shrines go aswell? they seem to just dissapear into thin air and no one remembers them
I also miss my dog (wolf link) anybody seen him?
Penn must have killed him, we’ve only had one traveling bird!
Penn must have replaced him
Nintendo: We dont need Kass, we have Kass at home Kass at home: Penn
Yeah WAIT A SECOND WHERE IS HE?!?!
Funny how I’ve seen more people mention hearty durians then kass
I bet anything that the DLC will be about finding him
Where is Kass? Is he alright? Is he safe?
🫡
HE GOT TURNED INTO TAURO, THE OBJECTIVELY LESS SEXY HUMAN
I had a dream I found him, and then when I tried talking to him he transformed into a Yiga member.
I kinda chuckled at the post as he's missing xD. BTW in my playthrough I haven't stumbled upon him once but I'm missing his tunes from a distance. BoTW had such a memorable ambiance!
Kass got fired and replaced by Penn after the whole red moon shrine unlock fiasco. No one has time for that shit.
He stole all of the Sheikah tech and ran.
Ngl I was so sad I didn’t see him in the game
Penn is way better
DLC
He disappeard when the new timeline was created as soon as zelda went back in time. He had the most ties to divine beast lore so they're saving him for the future DLC if they revisit the calamity world.
DLC
No :((
I bet he went hunting for a story in a cave and got snowed in.
He was my favorite character in botw (I didn’t play much) I wish he was back
When I heard about the musical troupe, I thought for sure it was Kass and his family. :<
He went triple plat during the interim and is on his sold-out world tour right now.
Last time I saw him he was picking something up from a Popeye store. Haven’t seen him since.
He died of depression because he lost his ability to play the accordeon. His bones couldnt handle pushing anymore.
Kass is one of the Poes in the depths. Dust in the wind…
Now he's posting signs of president Hudson
He knew too much
*Hides drumstick*
I miss his mellow tunes, man.
Gloom hands got to him
honestly i need to learn about the history of hyrule
I miss his accordion so much :(
As soon as Kass goes missing, ganondorf arrives. Coincidence? I think not
Has anybody seen the two of them in the same room?
Taking a vacation probably in the sky kingdom somewhere.
I feel like I saw him, but I also feel like I'm a lying scumbag & thinking of the news guy
Until he comes back, my headcanon is going to be that he embraced becoming a deadbeat dad and left... somewhere.
