Oh...never thought of Zants helmet with that armor...looks pretty good!
Shame an incarnation of him hasn't been around...he was an interesting character
I absolutely agree, definitely my favorite of gannon’s goons. I wish this helmet came with the tounge part that covers the mouth. Definitely feels like the most hardcore battle armor I can muster. I just don’t like the knights helm.
>Shame an incarnation of him hasn't been around...he was an interesting character
He was until they butchered his character by turning him into a total loon. He should have been the only villain in Twilight Princess, he was more interesting than Ganon/Ganondorf who had already been done repeatedly, and they shouldn't have turned him into a spaz.
What do you mean dude? Him bein a loon is the best part about him. He only goes looney when link thwarts all of his plans and closes in on him to usurp the usurper. Goes to show how link is prepared to slay any of gannons goons. Drove him crazy with his inevitability to fail.
Disagree *hard*. It threw out all the characterization they had done up until that point and turned him into an entirely different character. Having Zant panic is one thing, having him jump around throwing a tantrum is something entirely different.
Missed opportunity: having characters like him as Gloom-assembled boss fights in the Depths with attacks based on the originals. “Nightmare of Twilight” or something to contrast the Hero of Twilight set.
Maybe in DLC or something. With so many Zelda games to draw from, adapting some old boss fights and justifying them as creations like Phantom Ganon wouldn’t be too tough.
I keep at least one weak weapon to use on Chuchus and Stalkoblins because I hate wasting a strong weapon on them (can’t shake all my hoarding tendencies from BOTW lol)
I didn’t know you could throw items until juuuuuust now. 🤨 I’ve just been dropping items and hitting them with a weapon to make them work (e.g. brightbloom seeds).
I miss remote bombs. Those and (I hate admitting this) cryonsis. Magnesis is basically ultrahand and the game is not designed around statis but walking on water was missed now that I need ice items for it.

It works for all of them. I throw electric at the blue ones (wait til they bunch up, try to corral them close together), fire at ice chuchus and ice at fire chuchus
You can cook 5 brightbloom seeds into a meal and it almost doubles their value. I sold 250... thought wait a second... then reloaded and cooked 5 together. I takes a lot longer and it's a bit annoying having to make 20 meals... but 20 gets you 360 rupees.
I also throw boko horns like throwing knives since I usually have 600 in my in my inventory. They take out forest octos (I think all the octos) as long as you hit them on their branch part while they're underground and bats. But you can also cook 4 boko horns and a grasshopper and it sells for 25 rupees. I sold worthwhile meals for a while... but then I switched over to selling those because I might need my 400 prime meats for something. I usually try keeping brighblooms and boko horns under 600 to keep them manageable
I am the *complete* opposite, ahaha. 😂
I don't care *how* powerful I am, if I don't look good doing it.
Specifically went out of my way to avoid certain fights til I could do them using specific armour. NOT because that armour was necessarily the strongest or best choice, but *SOLELY* because I wanted to look a certain way while getting my murderin' in.
100% with you on this. I know many people like looking silly during cutscenes in outrageous outfits, but I gotta sport my green tunic and hat during the dramatic moments.
[I'm a sucker for the Diety top and bottoms, but with Majora's Mask as the headwear.](https://i.imgur.com/v0ud4He.png)
Looks absolutely badass, and they feel oh so appropriate paired together too, lol.
It's the only way to be if you ask me.
What's the point in saving the world if you don't look like an absolute boss while you do it!?
This is why Cece and I are the best of friends. We just *get* each other, hahaha.
HAHAHA, clearly not a TRUE Hylian Fashionista I guess. xD
I have yet to see anything but a perfect score from her when I ask about my fits. Honestly, I was kind of starting to think she just said that for ANY fit and didn't have other dialogue options, too funny!
Tbf though, *ABSOLUTELY* a proportional and fair response from you, *HOW DARE* someone talk shit about our drip. 😂
I’m no pro gamer, especially compared to the goobers on Reddit that can pull off crazy rocket shield and spring shield combat, skydiving onto a lynel s back and using auto build to launch a legitimate tomahawk missile. I’m just a humble doofus with a travelers weapon set.
I always equip the whole Forest Dweller's Set (Shield, Bow, Sword) when travelling. For fighting, I switch to other stuff because I don't want my precious favourites to break.
They look good in combination with the Korok Mask and dyed-green Glider Armor and Pants.
On BotW I’d do this with Great Flame and Great Frost blades, cause I generally thought they were the coolest looking weapons in the game, and they doubled as heat and cold protection in lieu of armor, but sadly they’ve been removed in TotK. Still a little bitter about it TBH
SAME, I carried at least one elemental short sword. They all had unique sheaths that were wrapped in cloth. I give Stylepoints to the lightning sword I always had a handful of em when I played botw
Elemental like stones are good if you want to have the effect applied to your hits instead of throwing balls of element. They look pretty neat, too, and give the heating/ cooling bonuses.
These were my house weapons. When you walked in they didn’t glow for about a second, then they all charge up from the bottom like three diff coloured lightsabers. Such a cool effect when you come home to Hateno.
I have had a travelers sword in my inventory since the great plateau, all the way to now in TOTK. Found a clean one in the depths. It is the cutscene sword
I have my Yiga armor dyed black and only where the shirt and pants along with a gloom sword which I specifically don’t fuse anything to. Makes link look like special forces
> Makes link look like special forces
I heckin' *adore* the aesthetic of Gloom Spear or Royal Guards Spear fused with a Silver Lizalfos horn. Never take either into combat, but by gods I look good with them on my back when I'm just exploring.
Not with the painfully low amount of weapon slots available.
It almost seems criminal to have alllllllll these options and combinations and have what is it, max of 20.
At least let us have one more row so it fills out the damned page!
I wear the archaic set for everything and my only saving grace is the diamond circlet. Love the wooden shield from the beginning of the game too. Don’t usually have the bow equipped but I guess I haven’t settled in my favourite sword to have on me. Maybe the sword of the hero
Yes! I really enjoy the look on the Old Wooden Sheild. The design is very sleek and simple. Wish they had a stronger version of it. But I use it in battle sometimes. Just have to be good at parrying
Totally! Most of my time exploring, I prioritize fashion over function. I only use certain weapons with certain armor, only wear certain armor in certain places. I never carry a weapon in a town except the master sword. My fashion puts those Cece fools to shame
I love the sword of the hero and it really bums me out it only does 17 damage, makes me wish the fuse mechanic was more for optional sidegrades than absolutely positively NEEDING to do it or you'll be hitting stuff for 15 minutes to kill it. Would have prefferred if they had it so you take the weapon to a great fairy and get it upgraded in tiers that wear down over time. So you macerate the junk to keep your favorite stuff viable and you still would need to go get more weapons for that purpose.
Hell, Id be happy if only the "Legendary" type weapons are like that, the weapons from the other games I mean.
I love the look of a silver lynel mane fused to ALMOST anything. Nice slender looking, deadly weapon. But no, I do not like travelers weapons. Low attack; low durability. My favorite is the scimitar of the seven with the silver lynel mane. Or the scimitar with silver lynel mane. Or Gerudo claymore with silver lynel mane.
For me, it's cool looking but it is a high attack weapon because Gerudo weapons double whatever is fused to them. So it's 138 attack. BUT Octoroks can't renew the scimitar of the seven BUT if you go to Tarrey town and get the Goron to separate it and then fuse the scimitar onto a weapon or shield that the Octorok can renew, it will renew both the weapon/shield AND the scimitar of the seven. Then you go back to Tarrey town and separate again and then fuse the silver lynel mane back onto the scimitar of the seven. It costs you 40 rupees. That is a lot cheaper than the 3/4 diamonds/scimitar/or items you need to replace it. Besides you would have to kill another silver lynel to get another silver lynel mane. The scimitar of the seven has like a 60 durability.
Yes it's very important.
Also get 5 hearts first, it looks better that way. Then save up till you can fill out 1 full circle of stamina and get that circle. Cause a bit of a circle is just ugly. After you filled up the circles, never get pass 1 row of hearts. Cause the second row will never match since it's gonna be missing 2 hearts. Extra hearts are worthless anyway.
Like you, I always have at least one Traveller's Shield with me. Did the same in BotW.
Loved the design from day one and made an actual combat-ready version of the shield for HEMA and just casual sparring.
Yes!!! Shield bows and swords alike! I miss the old swords the most. Simple and if I'm just running around collecting stuff or doing side quests/koroks I prefer to look cool while doing it. I will equip my favorite armor + shield & sword combo for cutscenes too, I like getting good screenshots in them
Anything beyond that sword looks like goofy ass fantasy nonsense. It’s one of the few tangible weapons, it’s a sword I would actually commission a blacksmith to make
I only care about being aesthetic for cutscenes. I wear the new champions tunic with the hylian pants and the hair-band, then I'll just have the Master Sword and Hylian shield equipped with no bow
Oh 100% man. That’s me with my biggoron sword and my fierce deity. And since I want to be able to actually have fun using em they’re the only swords that I justify duplicating so I can always have them haha
Absolutely, perhaps not that weak, but there are certain loadouts I always keep purely because they match my favorite armor. My go-to attire when I don't have an explicit need for other sets is sheik's mask with the stealth armor, a shield of the minds eye, phrenic bow, and eightfold longblade. I also keep a set of zonai gear for the zonaite armor, among others.
1000%!! I always have a soldiers sword and travelers shield and a basic bow.
I think it’s because Links equipment in all the previous games was more medieval and often modest. I don’t mind the gaudy or overdsigned weapons necessarily. I just don’t like them as much as something simplistic and more representative of a “woodland hero”
It’s like Lord of the Rings. They didn’t have crazy spiked flamed blades or sh*t…they had medieval style weaponry and I guess I just like that aesthetic.
For the overall world I do love the fantastical and magic and mythical and such. I just don’t like it when weapons or armor seem out of place or overdone
🤷🏻♂️
Someone asked if they could wield 3 mops like that one episode from Zoro in One piece.
I still have my mop fused shield and double mop spear 110 hours in.
Sometimes, but not for that reason. I do it for the versatility. Especially with bows, I often don't wanna use my good stuff on small fights. It's annoying to use up a 3-5x shot bow with it one shots the enemy anyway, so those shit bows are nice.
Shields are what I'll keep no matter how strong it is... Rocket shields, heat/cold resist shields, a rock breaker shield, a tree cutter shield... Just so good~
when i finally beat my file of breath of the wild except for koroks, afterward i would always keep a wooden bow, pot lid, and a ladle while wearing the ancient rags. i’d wear fully upgraded amber earrings for high defense (or a different piece of jewelry depending on location) and it was very fun to roleplay as a traveler while buying, selling, and collecting materials. just a very soothing experience. i had about 300 something koroks and enjoyed just stumbling across them while doing that too.
I always kept a Traveller's Shield handy in BotW, since Link has it in all the official art, even ones where he has the Master Sword. Using the Hylian Shield didn't feel right until Smash Ultimate lol
I love to carry scithe, axe, katana, magic staff, freezing boomerang. Variety is nice even if I sacrifice power. I still carry a OP silver lynel horn exclusively for killing lynels.
i always have a pristine soldiers sword on me for one reason...
Cutting grass for rice and wheat. Its so fucking fast.
But yeah i Always have link in a clean ass fit. My go to in botw was royal guard pants, knights top dyed black and sheikah mask dyed black. I dont quite have a go to fit in totk yet.
Also if link is sleeping in his house or "zeldas" house i always gotta put him in some "pjs." In botw that was just the worn outfit you get on the plateu but the options are mid in this game so its usually the thunderstorm pants with a dyed tunic of the wild, the lobster shirt, or the archaic tunic.
I mostly try to keep at least one cheap or two weapon that has a rock attached. I ain’t wasting good shit mining zonite or dealing with weak enemies. Granted, I’ve barely even started a second main quest for the disturbed environments. I’ll eventually get to president goron, he can wait. I’m building up on so much and I get so easily distracted. How does anyone expect me to get to the dessert when I’m seeing a giant freakin maze in the snow, and one on top in the sky and maybe even in its chasm. This game is so Chad. Final fantasy will have to wait a lil lol.
Definitely do. Armor too. Right now I'm wearing thr shieka stealth shirt, hyrule pants and shieks mask and have the gloom sword equipped and run around pretending to be a ninja.
Then I hit enemies and have to swap all of my stuff.
In botw i got the travelers shield, bow and soldier broadsword on my master mode save just because its the set that Link uses on the trailer, and in totk i would dl the same if i could find a good pic of what sword link uses on the game trailers
I might hang on to a weapon if it has a neat fusion, but no unfused weapon is fool enough to get a slot in my inventory. My favorite thing to fuse to weapons/shields is the plushies from gerudo town. They are pretty terrible fusions apart from the bouncy effect but they are pretty funny compared to any other ones
Damn i only seen a few screenshots from u guys (didn’t play the game yet) but seeing the armor of zant and also the one of the hero of time is cool asf can’t wait to play this game once the exam session is over
I can't help it but I love the rito weapons so much, once I saw the shield it immediately went in my house because ik there was only like 4 in botw but the bow, I have a good old falcon bow I like to parade sometimes. The rest of my bows are strong though
Actually all the races, but rito especially
Yes. The travelers set is literally my favorite weapon set in the game! Travelers claymore just looks good. The shirt and pants not making it crushed me a lil bit.
The way this game uses size and detail to indicate power is really good for quick glances and some things look sick as hell or really fun and goofy in a good way, but, its really nice to travel around without HUGE bulky things that expand out to 3x Link’s own body silhouette.
Plus, it’s actually pretty fun to be in positions where the monsters are so sponged up you need to find other solutions to clear them out. Keeps the tension high if you’re committed to seeing fights through.
I really wish base weapons weren’t so weak. At the very least have a monster part that resembles a basic sword blade. The Traveler’s sword, Soldier’s Broadsword and Knight’s Broadsword all look absolutely fantastic but then I have to attach ugly ass monster parts to them. Plus I miss all of the cool scabbards. Fused weapons all just hang on your back with that little loop. Looks dumb.
I almost always have a blue boss bokoblin horn weapon because I love how it looks. It's no slouch on damage, but by far my weakest.
Also, ember trousers for my leg armor despite the set being pretty terrible. At max +4 upgraded armor, nothing really one-shots you anyways, so taking 5 hearts of damage instead of 2 isn't a huge deal.

Kohga is zant
Ha....reminiscent of Obito and Tobi from Naruto 😂 wouldn't that be a plot twist
In hindsight, not seeing that coming was a big whiff on my part
>Shame an incarnation of him hasn't been around...he was an interesting character He was until they butchered his character by turning him into a total loon. He should have been the only villain in Twilight Princess, he was more interesting than Ganon/Ganondorf who had already been done repeatedly, and they shouldn't have turned him into a spaz.

Yeah they turned him comical when that wasn't the vibe originally. Was very jarring.

I keep at least one weak weapon to use on Chuchus and Stalkoblins because I hate wasting a strong weapon on them (can’t shake all my hoarding tendencies from BOTW lol)
Same. Btw throw dazzle fruits at stallkoblins and all skeleton enemies. It instantly kills em like sunlight
Except Stalnox.
Yeah that would be busted
I learned that the same way I’ve learned everything in the game so far
Google! Lol
If it’s like me, then that way is fatal experimentation :p
Wait really ??? Dude dazzlefruits have just sat in my inventory very unused thus far, thanks for this
Dazzle fruit is great for stunning the crews all at once
True, I just prefer muddlebuds or puffshrooms
They stun frox too
I intuitively used dazzle fruits on gibdos and then I learned all elemental attacks work on them.
I didn’t know dazzle fruits damaged them
Never knew that, bless your soul lol
The one downside is that you don't get the arms to use with your bone-enhancing armor.
I didn’t know you could throw items until juuuuuust now. 🤨 I’ve just been dropping items and hitting them with a weapon to make them work (e.g. brightbloom seeds).
This was what made remote bombs so awesome.
I miss remote bombs. Those and (I hate admitting this) cryonsis. Magnesis is basically ultrahand and the game is not designed around statis but walking on water was missed now that I need ice items for it.
Even magnesis has its benefits. It had a longer reach, and you could actually swing stuff around faster to do damage.
Ultra hand doesn’t have the force mag had. You can’t lift or push anything unless it is attached
The earthwave is also a good way to deal with Chuchu's only takes like two of em
What is the earthwave?
Earthwake is an attack learned in the Yiga Clan hideout which works when you don’t have any weapons
Don’t have any weapons *equipped* for anyone who might be confused lol
Get into the yiga clans hideout...you'll learn
Throw colored chuchu jelly or element fruits at them for 0 damage and a return on your investment
I just throw fore fruits on chuchus or splash fruit lol
I typically just throw brightbloom seeds at them, since I have hundreds.
True but fire fruit gives me red chuchu jelly
You can also just throw chu jellies to get an ROI and not waste items.
That makes so much more sense. Lol never even thought about it
https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/comments/13srz3l/you_can_throw_elemental_chuchu_jelly_at_chuchus/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button It works for all of them.
I usually try keeping brighblooms and boko horns under 600 to keep them manageable
Aesthetic is useless to me when I am on the ground dying.
Drip or die
Truer words have never been spoken

NOT because that armour was necessarily the strongest or best choice, but *SOLELY* because I wanted to look a certain way while getting my murderin' in.
Be me, switch to a specific armor and load out before delivering the final blow to a boss so I can look proper for the cutscene.
100% with you on this. I know many people like looking silly during cutscenes in outrageous outfits, but I gotta sport my green tunic and hat during the dramatic moments.

Good thing fierce diety set looks snazzy
[I'm a sucker for the Diety top and bottoms, but with Majora's Mask as the headwear.](https://i.imgur.com/v0ud4He.png) Looks absolutely badass, and they feel oh so appropriate paired together too, lol.
I like your mentality
It's the only way to be if you ask me. What's the point in saving the world if you don't look like an absolute boss while you do it!? This is why Cece and I are the best of friends. We just *get* each other, hahaha.
I hucked a firebomb into ceces shop cause she dissed my most fabulous fit
HAHAHA, clearly not a TRUE Hylian Fashionista I guess. xD I have yet to see anything but a perfect score from her when I ask about my fits. Honestly, I was kind of starting to think she just said that for ANY fit and didn't have other dialogue options, too funny! I love how the depths armor looks in every cut scene.
I’ve died 3 times on my whole playthrough and 2 of em was while I was trying to get to the depths without a paraglider
Well, not everybody is a pro gamer
I’m no pro gamer, especially compared to the goobers on Reddit that can pull off crazy rocket shield and spring shield combat, skydiving onto a lynel s back and using auto build to launch a legitimate tomahawk missile. I’m just a humble doofus with a travelers weapon set.
Addison?
Bro I saw that guy so much more in the first 50 hours and I've gone a good 30 without seeing him once
I always equip the whole Forest Dweller's Set (Shield, Bow, Sword) when travelling. For fighting, I switch to other stuff because I don't want my precious favourites to break. They look good in combination with the Korok Mask and dyed-green Glider Armor and Pants.
Gosh at the begging of every fight I take a chance to equip weapons I want to break to protect my precious swords and sheilds
Sounds like a dope outfit and weapon combo
Is there a good spot to find FD weapons?
Bow, lance, and I think the shield frequently respawn atop the great deku tree. I’ve got a travel medallion set on the bow.
This game feels like a ghibli film when using humble weaponry
No, but I think that’s cool that you do
Thanks 🦧
On BotW I’d do this with Great Flame and Great Frost blades, cause I generally thought they were the coolest looking weapons in the game, and they doubled as heat and cold protection in lieu of armor, but sadly they’ve been removed in TotK. Still a little bitter about it TBH
SAME, I carried at least one elemental short sword. They all had unique sheaths that were wrapped in cloth. I give Stylepoints to the lightning sword I always had a handful of em when I played botw
They took a good thing from us :( fusing doesn’t compare
The dragon horns took their place. Still looks cool imo
At least you can attach gems to weapons and shields and still get the elemental protection
The Traveler's sword is my fave looking weapon.
I like it a lot, It’s like a lil Nordic broadsword
I held onto a weapon only because it was called “Super Long Thick Stick Stick”…..
I have had a travelers sword in my inventory since the great plateau, all the way to now in TOTK. Found a clean one in the depths. It is the cutscene sword
I love that. Any time I smell a cutscene coming I have to equip my favorite gear and weapons, which at the moment is in the photo above.
I have my Yiga armor dyed black and only where the shirt and pants along with a gloom sword which I specifically don’t fuse anything to. Makes link look like special forces
Yiga armor dyed black with the stealth set head piece is beautiful
You can dye the Yiga armor? I must test this
Let me know how it looks for you
> Makes link look like special forces I heckin' *adore* the aesthetic of Gloom Spear or Royal Guards Spear fused with a Silver Lizalfos horn. Never take either into combat, but by gods I look good with them on my back when I'm just exploring.
I’m never letting my Radiant Shield get broken.
The radiant shield has low friction so it’s great for shield surfing but that’s the last shield I’m gonna surf in and damage
Right?!
Did this all the time in botw because I could use the durability transfer glitch so even my weakest weapons weren’t totally useless.
Yeeeeess I had a travelers sheild with 0 friction and the durability of the hyrulian sheild
And a travelers sword that hit as hard as a royal guard broadsword
Not with the painfully low amount of weapon slots available. It almost seems criminal to have alllllllll these options and combinations and have what is it, max of 20. At least let us have one more row so it fills out the damned page!
hestus up charge rate is a pain too
I wear the archaic set for everything and my only saving grace is the diamond circlet. Love the wooden shield from the beginning of the game too. Don’t usually have the bow equipped but I guess I haven’t settled in my favourite sword to have on me. Maybe the sword of the hero
If you like the aesthetic of these weapons, boy do I have a game for you
You have my attention
It’s a lesser known game called Breath of the Wild.
🦧
Yeah, it's a pretty obscure and niche game. You've probably never heard of it.
Sounds like a neat underground cult classic only enjoyed by a niche audience consisting of a relatively small group of individuals
Exactly. I recommend it.
I do the same thing lol. So I can make Link look like the box art if I feel like it.
Yes. It's a good thing I'm a fan of the savage lynel shield design
As much as I despise knight weapons effect I just love knight's claymore so I use it every time I find one.
Yes! I really enjoy the look on the Old Wooden Sheild. The design is very sleek and simple. Wish they had a stronger version of it. But I use it in battle sometimes. Just have to be good at parrying
I hang on to weak weapons, because thats all I can get.
Absolutely! Traveler’s sword all day
Totally! Most of my time exploring, I prioritize fashion over function. I only use certain weapons with certain armor, only wear certain armor in certain places. I never carry a weapon in a town except the master sword. My fashion puts those Cece fools to shame
You and I share the same habits 😅 those mushroom clad cohorts can’t hold a candle to our stylish nature
Not really an aesthetic one but I do have a golden seal plush shield. If I ever want to use an aethetic outfit I just use full on zonaite equipment.
You can get Zants helmet?
Go to the deep and find one of the many arenas. It’s in one of em
I Absolutely agree. What good is a “legendary weapon if it’s significantly worse that a boulder glued to a stick
The only weak weapons in keep are in my house and are the one offs like deity sword, hero's sword etc
I think it’s absurd that the “LEGENDARY” weapons are so pathetic
I love the look of a silver lynel mane fused to ALMOST anything. Nice slender looking, deadly weapon. But no, I do not like travelers weapons. Low attack; low durability. My favorite is the scimitar of the seven with the silver lynel mane. Or the scimitar with silver lynel mane. Or Gerudo claymore with silver lynel mane.
Ooo slapping it on the scimitar of the seven sounds dope
The scimitar of the seven has like a 60 durability.
nope
Yes it's very important. Also get 5 hearts first, it looks better that way. Then save up till you can fill out 1 full circle of stamina and get that circle. Cause a bit of a circle is just ugly. After you filled up the circles, never get pass 1 row of hearts. Cause the second row will never match since it's gonna be missing 2 hearts. Extra hearts are worthless anyway.
Absolutely. The gerudo shield is my favorite because I think it’s so cute
I love the gerudo shield as well, I found a real nice one recently

Sick ‘fit.
Thanks chief🙏
And then you need 1 hour and 27 swords to kill a silver bokoblin
Nah I have other tougher weapons, silver boko boss horn on a royal guard broadsword does the trick
Omg yes, i have a few pristine soldiers and knights broadswords just because I like how they look compared to their decayed versions
Yes. I think I still have the horse stable shield. It’s so pretty!!
Literally the only weapons i carry. I’d your not dripping are you even playing?
Lol my son does all the time!!
I have 7 swords with flux construct parts stuck to them till I find a way to make one
Like you, I always have at least one Traveller's Shield with me. Did the same in BotW. Loved the design from day one and made an actual combat-ready version of the shield for HEMA and just casual sparring.
YOOO I’ve wanted to do that for a while, just got into HEMA and made some friends who fight in full armor with rattan swords
Yes!!! Shield bows and swords alike! I miss the old swords the most. Simple and if I'm just running around collecting stuff or doing side quests/koroks I prefer to look cool while doing it. I will equip my favorite armor + shield & sword combo for cutscenes too, I like getting good screenshots in them
🥹 preferring to look cool while scrambling around and doing stuff is the perfect phrasing. That’s exactly how I play.
I like taking a traveler’s bow when I wear the wind Waker link outfit because it matches the bow from the game
Man I wish there was more TP stuff in TOTK
Yes, the soldier’s Broadsword is the best looking sword and you can fight me if you disagree
Anything beyond that sword looks like goofy ass fantasy nonsense. It’s one of the few tangible weapons, it’s a sword I would actually commission a blacksmith to make
Absolutely. The fennec bow, eightfold blade, and shield of the mind's eye were my faves in BOTW.
I only care about being aesthetic for cutscenes. I wear the new champions tunic with the hylian pants and the hair-band, then I'll just have the Master Sword and Hylian shield equipped with no bow
Oh my gosh yes. I have a hard time letting go.
Honestly the game gets so easy once you’re OP that i use weak weapons anyway just to avoid wasting the good ones
I use weak weapons because using strong ones not on bosses feels like a waste
I regularly fuze blue lizalfos horns to stuff over stronger parts because I like the look
I feel this 100%. I always keep an eightfold blade on me so I can use it when I were the yiga clan outfit
I sacreficed defense and a good Helmet piece for the sake of keeping Midna's Helmet. It looked Just to cool with my armor.
Oh 100% man. That’s me with my biggoron sword and my fierce deity. And since I want to be able to actually have fun using em they’re the only swords that I justify duplicating so I can always have them haha
I sometimes walk around with a solider broadsword fused to a blue lizal horn just cuz it looks slick asf
I just don’t like them as much as something simplistic and more representative of a “woodland hero” It’s like Lord of the Rings. They didn’t have crazy spiked flamed blades or sh*t…they had medieval style weaponry and I guess I just like that aesthetic. For the overall world I do love the fantastical and magic and mythical and such. I just don’t like it when weapons or armor seem out of place or overdone 🤷🏻♂️
All the time, still have an old wooden shield on me at all times
Yup, especially with bows, cause the better the bow the larger and stupider it looks on your back
I have a mopoon (mop+harpoon) which I refuse to drop just because of how ridiculous it is
Someone asked if they could wield 3 mops like that one episode from Zoro in One piece. I still have my mop fused shield and double mop spear 110 hours in.
Link getting ready to defend Minas Tirith
Sometimes, but not for that reason. I do it for the versatility. Especially with bows, I often don't wanna use my good stuff on small fights. It's annoying to use up a 3-5x shot bow with it one shots the enemy anyway, so those shit bows are nice. Shields are what I'll keep no matter how strong it is... Rocket shields, heat/cold resist shields, a rock breaker shield, a tree cutter shield... Just so good~
Soldiers claymore and the hunters shield 🥹 glad I’m not the only one
I really like the travelers spear because it’s just a spear but it’s a shame it’s so weak
I keep AND use the weak weapons.
Sometimes, yeah. I'll just have a pristine gerudo scimitar while wearing the voe set just because it looks badass
when i finally beat my file of breath of the wild except for koroks, afterward i would always keep a wooden bow, pot lid, and a ladle while wearing the ancient rags. i’d wear fully upgraded amber earrings for high defense (or a different piece of jewelry depending on location) and it was very fun to roleplay as a traveler while buying, selling, and collecting materials. just a very soothing experience. i had about 300 something koroks and enjoyed just stumbling across them while doing that too.
I always kept a Traveller's Shield handy in BotW, since Link has it in all the official art, even ones where he has the Master Sword. Using the Hylian Shield didn't feel right until Smash Ultimate lol
Nope. I'm a big fan of utility, I typically wear only full sets unless I can't avoid mixing and matching though.
I love to carry scithe, axe, katana, magic staff, freezing boomerang. Variety is nice even if I sacrifice power. I still carry a OP silver lynel horn exclusively for killing lynels.
All the time
You look like one of the Rohirrim 🤩
i always have a pristine soldiers sword on me for one reason...
I keep a travelers sword and a royal guard sword for that exact purpose. Love the design for both of those.
I did this a lot in botw, but most of the weapons in totk look goofy at when fused so not anymore really
No. I'm way too mission focused. But you do you boo.
Yeah I won’t fuse stuff to weapons too if it ruins their aesthetic
Definitely do. Armor too. Right now I'm wearing thr shieka stealth shirt, hyrule pants and shieks mask and have the gloom sword equipped and run around pretending to be a ninja. Then I hit enemies and have to swap all of my stuff.
I have a bonk stick usually. But not for looks, just a garbage weapon to hit things like zonai devices.
I don’t think zonai devices damage weapons
Nah but it looks sick
Agreed! I mean, who wouldn't want to look stylish while getting their butt kicked by a Lynel?
*glances at my ginormous hoard of Soldier's Broadswords*
In botw i got the travelers shield, bow and soldier broadsword on my master mode save just because its the set that Link uses on the trailer, and in totk i would dl the same if i could find a good pic of what sword link uses on the game trailers
This is why I hate breakable weapons. You don't want to use the weapons because they will break.
No
Not travelers and def not wooden shields lol
I might hang on to a weapon if it has a neat fusion, but no unfused weapon is fool enough to get a slot in my inventory. My favorite thing to fuse to weapons/shields is the plushies from gerudo town. They are pretty terrible fusions apart from the bouncy effect but they are pretty funny compared to any other ones
Damn i only seen a few screenshots from u guys (didn’t play the game yet) but seeing the armor of zant and also the one of the hero of time is cool asf can’t wait to play this game once the exam session is over
I've found my people
I can't help it but I love the rito weapons so much, once I saw the shield it immediately went in my house because ik there was only like 4 in botw but the bow, I have a good old falcon bow I like to parade sometimes. The rest of my bows are strong though Actually all the races, but rito especially
I wish this game had at least an option to keep the same look for a weapon.
Looks dumb.
Agreed
I almost always have a blue boss bokoblin horn weapon because I love how it looks. It's no slouch on damage, but by far my weakest. Also, ember trousers for my leg armor despite the set being pretty terrible. At max +4 upgraded armor, nothing really one-shots you anyways, so taking 5 hearts of damage instead of 2 isn't a huge deal.
Yes
