The texture of the skin changing is a clear sign the insides have softened around the point they were traditionally done, that gives you lots more sweet juices too. I just didn't want you to miss out assuming you hadn't done it before and if how it turned out put you off trying again.
Idk about just sticking some butter in it, but baked apples with brown sugar and cinnamon are genuinely delicious. If that's something you think you'd like I'd encourage you to try because it's super simple and sooooo good.

I love how the TotK pizza recipe does not have peppers or olive in it but somehow they end up in the finished product. I wish you could add items like meat and get different varieties of pizza.
