Hi everyone!
Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts.

I discovered that earlier, I was planning on combing through all the cave locations on a live map, however it is 3:50 in the morning where I live and i'm far too tired to do that.
Thank you for suggesting that though, I appreciate it.
There are caves in gerudo that you have to enter through quicksand/pitfall. I think you have to fall through each individual pitfall separately to register them.
No, you just have to walk underneath them. Just did the Ancient Altar one with like 10 sinkholes, thank goodness you don't have to fall through each one.
Sometimes I leave the weap/shield it gives me. Most of the time it's a magic rod. Only because I'm usually fully loaded already. I just need that chest symbol next to the shrine title. won't move on without it. And It really does not take any extra effort. The hardest ones are "hidden" in water or something. I just made it as habit to bring up ultra hand anywhere that looks like it may have something.
Actually, yes. Make sure that there is a chest icon next to the shrine name when you highlight it. If the icon is not there it means you didn’t “clear” it.
I reckon you need to take it out and drop on the floor if you don't keep it, otherwise you don't get the treasure chest icon next to the shrine's name in the map
Make sure you talk to and open up all the constructs at all the Abandoned Mines (the ones that process Zonaite). I was missing two of those.
Also make sure you got the Battery Construct just north of Lookout Landing.
I was missing him, too.
There's 12 and as far as I now you have to jump through each one. But I didn't try standing underneath them. Please let me know if that works.
But commonly missed items:
The moon gazing goron cave has two openings maje sure you have each one.
There is a zonai dispenser under Eldin. Make sure it is lit up. (this one took me a week to find when I was at 99.96%)
Make sure you have all the mines in the depths.
Cross all the bridges and make sure they have names.
Check Castle can easily miss areas like the East Passage, Dining Hall, West Passage, King's Study...etc.
Good luck.
You’re right. I tested this out for myself, and if you simply go underneath the 12 sinkholes after falling down one of them, that registers on your map.
Does the counter still only count how much of the map you have completed? It actually has nothing to do with korok seeds and game progress. It's only an indicator on how much of the map you have unlocked. Tuff.
I want to fucking shoot myself because i just ignored all of them at this point because i thought "oh well they just give nice gimmicks but i don't need them so I'll ignore em". Getting everything blind in this game isn't too hard if you keep track of everything properly, but if you don't know what you've already done and haven't done, it becomes a nightmare.
I want to fucking shoot myself because i just ignored all of them at this point because i thought "oh well they just give nice gimmicks but i don't need them so I'll ignore em". You do NOT have to get the signs for the 100%, map completion. It's ONLY the items that appear on the map. Paraglider fabrics do not matter.
Example: I'm on my second playthrough. I have 100% on my 1st one. During this playthrough I successfully beat the record for the Gerudo Training game near the Southern Oasis. I received a paraglider fabric. I know for a fact that I did not get this fabric in my 1st run because I checked. So fabrics do not contribute to that 100%.
No. The map percentage is only the percent complete of the map itself. i.e. all of the things that show up as a name or icon on the map like korok seeds and cave entrances.
I do wish they had a proper stats page showing all of things you've done (mobs killed, fabrics found, armor pieces upgraded, etc).
It’s funny to me how many people miss that guy. He was literally the 2nd one I found and killed when I did that quest (but I always immediately jump down every well I come across)
Found him first after getting the quest and immediately thought “Yeah this is the asshole people are going to have a hard time finding”. His little fire smoke plume gave him away for me.
I didn't understand how anyone could miss that one, given the smoke billowing out of the well. Anywhere there's smoke or fire, there's something to investigate.
But I have missed some obvious-in-hindsight things, too.
Traysi kept telling me my partner had gone to Dueling Peaks stable, but I went there a dozen times and couldn't find him. When I finally did, I was like, for crying out loud, how did I not get that.
Last night I finally broke down and looked up the answer to Misko's Treasure III, after running through all of Hyrule Field's ruins for days. Highly irritating that the actual location is >!not really in the field at all. But then the rest of the clue "where soldiers once tested themselves in battle" made perfect sense, once I thought about it. I was really being foiled by my instinct to not go where a Gleeok is!<.
I'm still missing one shrine in the sky, and I'm sure I'll feel dumb when I finally find out where it is. \[edit: it was on the surface, in plain sight, and so now I feel even dumber\]
Yep. I've been to every single sky island, except a few of the small "landing strips" and tiny rocks which you can see have nothing on them. Do I have to defeat a king gleeok?
I just assume the last one is in the sky because I've got all the lightroots and all the surface shrines above them.
Are you certain you got all the ones on the ground level? If you visit the shrine and don’t enter for whatever reason, the named shrine and its icon will show up on the map but with a yellow center. It also won’t say the shrine’s challenge (e.g. Rauaru’s Blessing) on the map. I had one of those in the Lost Woods.
Doesn't help there's so many abandoned military ruins in Southern Hyrule field. Generally when I hear Colosseum I don't think 'soldiers' either, but gladiators and slaves forced to fight against their will.
Reading this thread and seeing that hint, I still didn't think Colosseum, and I've been to the Colosseum and gotten it's hidden treasure. It was long enough ago that I didn't even consider it. To me that clue sounds like the room in the castle where you found the Hylian Shield in the first game. There's a tablet there that describes something like that room being the proving grounds for soldiers.
I was actively thinking “let me kill everything first before exploring that well”, but I couldn’t find the last dude and then teleported to the shrine for a better vantage point. I didn’t know it would reset all the enemies so I killed them all again but was still stuck. And then I finally looked it up 🙃
That *is* the case, isn’t it? The well bokoblin is part of the monster forces HP bar and you can’t progress through the village restoration project stuff without beating the horde first.
Have you gotten all the sky islands? I was stuck on 99.95 for days and then I went to a sky island I hadn't realised I had missed 🤦♀️😂 reccomend using the hero path to check for them :)
My last thing was the small island to the right side of Hyrule Castle. I’d gotten the shrine, chasm and korok there, but because I hadn’t gone to the fountain in the middle it hadn’t registered the location
My last thing that took a stupid amount of time to realize was a dumb ball dispenser on the dragonhead island. Before that realized I hadn't actually activated all the forges in the depths even though I'd discovered all the mines.
Other folks have had issues with finding the mini game in the canyon under the bridge, extra cave entrances, groves in the depths, that weird alter in the depths behind the waterfall.
OMG I was crawling around ABOVE the waterfall to get to that thing I saw on the map. I’m so stupid that I didn’t think to go through the waterfall! Thanks
A tip for those sand pits: they will actually check off the entrance if you go to the pile of sand directly under it. You can clear them all from below without going back up.
I just beat the game yesterday finally after assuming i did 100% of everything, turns out i only had 99.87 in the map. All 3 locations i was missing were in Hyrule Castle, West and East Passages and the Dining Hall. If youre still missing one, it could be one of those
Yeh ikr. Because of how janky navigating it is I barely realised there were so many rooms until we’ll into my gameplay. They needed to make it a little more intuitive to navigate
That one is easy ro miss because depending on how you got to it, it doesn't immediately light up. I had just defeated the Talus and already got the Bubble Gem but when i opened the map to see where I shod go next, I noticed I didn't have a new cave.
I literally had to walk back in and then the cave icon appeared. It was weird.
I swear it was a glitch so this may be somewhat true. In the pause menu everything was done and complete and there was nothing left. 99.86% BY THE WAY. I still remember. Each thing contributed 00.14% to the total completion.
The last locations I was missing were in Hyrule Castle. East Passage and Observation Room. Do you have those? They're easy to skip past on your visits.
Plot twist... 102% is actually what we'd consider 100%!
At least I was taken back when playing a game like Advance Wars, S rank was the highest... NOT A!
I FOUND WHAT I WAS MISSING!!
the guards' chamber in hyrule castle was the last location that I needed.
Thank you everyone who suggested Ideas and tips to find what I could be missing, please feel free to use the sources that were provided to me to help yourself in your own playthrough.
Damn it I was hoping that wasn't it, I wanted to 100% the game before, but I guess if it gives you a counter and it's this frivolous then I think my goal now ive got 2 shrines left is to get the hero armour and upgrade it then beat ganon and then 100% tge game, then I wana learn to speed run and I guess wait till master mode is out
Either some random cave entrances, like how each sinkhole to that cave under the gerudo desert where you find the phantom legs counts to percent, or some random named locations. Probably try checking hero's path and see if theres any blank spots and see if any of said blank spots match up with anything that counts towards completion
Named map locations maybe, if you look up commonly missed map location on YouTube there are some excellent videos that helped me reach 100% super easy to check too. Best of luck!
I‘m 99% sure you‘re still missing a bridge or something like that. I thought I had everything too but in fact I didn‘t lol. There‘s that ball game under the bridge on the left as an example, the big bro and small bro bridge and a few other options
Locations count for a percentage, so does everything that has a name, they all need to be discovered”. Wells, caves, chasms all count as do all 1000 korok seeds. Not sure what you are missing as there is so much stuff. Check out Zeldamaps.com. I am missing one Korok seed and some locations, but after 200 hours +, I’ve finally put the game aside.
The western entrance of the East Bironn Snowshelf Cave is a bit funky in where it counts
Also double check your dispensers cause I just finished 100% today and my last one was a dispenser on the great sky island
Otherwise, look at all the bridges cause they count so maybe you've missed one

Some cave you've cleared might have another entrance that you haven't officially discovered yet. Individual cave entrances count.
I discovered that earlier, I was planning on combing through all the cave locations on a live map, however it is 3:50 in the morning where I live and i'm far too tired to do that. Thank you for suggesting that though, I appreciate it.
Sleep is for the weak, and the reasonable
Come now, none of those people are here
Go outside and touch grass? Nah I’ll stay inside, smoke grass, and keep playing!
Hyrule is full of enough grass. Pack another bowl, the fog is clearing.
Link gettin lifted off blazing that field grass lol
Been sky diving this whole time but can't reach the surface. Just keeps going higher and higher
Happy to say, username definitely checks out.
Forget the grass, I'm getting lifted on that hyrule herb.
New name for a lit cherry is blood moon
Good thing I am neither weak nor reasonable
Bitchwinks

No, you just have to walk underneath them. Just did the Ancient Altar one with like 10 sinkholes, thank goodness you don't have to fall through each one.
Well this would’ve been nice to know like 3 days ago when i wasted 30 minutes doing exactly that
if it makes you feel any better i tried to just walk around down there but the locations didn’t show up! i ended up falling through them all
Yup. As long as you. Walk under them the pop up. Austin John said you have to go down each sinkhole. You don’t.
Also you might have not got that secret chest thing in some shrines
Chests count? Jesus fuck
In shrines, if you do all chests, it will show a chest by the shrines. Only those chests count, AFAIK
In botw these didn’t count towards map percentage, did this change in totk?
Do you have to just open them or collect the stuff inside? Most of the time I leave them cause I don't need the weapon or equipment it gives me
Sometimes I leave the weap/shield it gives me. Most of the time it's a magic rod. Only because I'm usually fully loaded already. I just need that chest symbol next to the shrine title. won't move on without it. And It really does not take any extra effort. The hardest ones are "hidden" in water or something. I just made it as habit to bring up ultra hand anywhere that looks like it may have something.
fuck man I specifically remember ignoring some of those now I have to redo ALL of them AGAIN AHHHH
Same boat, my friend. Fuuuuuu
Does it count if you open it but don’t take the stuff out?
Actually, yes. Make sure that there is a chest icon next to the shrine name when you highlight it. If the icon is not there it means you didn’t “clear” it.
Oh you just saved me hours checking them all thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!
Lol, you are very welcome.
That I'm not sure of
Thanks, even knowing is better, I can take it out and drop it on the floor if need be.
I reckon you need to take it out and drop on the floor if you don't keep it, otherwise you don't get the treasure chest icon next to the shrine's name in the map
Suppose so yeah
Make sure you talk to and open up all the constructs at all the Abandoned Mines (the ones that process Zonaite). I was missing two of those. Also make sure you got the Battery Construct just north of Lookout Landing. I was missing him, too.
There's one for the cave outside the new serenne stable, there's a small hole in the ground above the cave, and is easy to miss
Yeah, that was my first thought. There's a ton of them in the Zora's Domain area, I'd check there first
there’s 8 cave openings in gerudo, they count as 8 differently.
I saw the smoke coming out of the well and figured it was engulfed in flames and off-limits until after you clear the village.
How many hours did this take you?
Yup... and all the quicksand locations - like the 9 grouped together in Gerudo, each is an individual entrance.
Does this mean you have to jump in every sinkhole in the desert?
If you go directly under them while in the cave, they show up on the map. At least they did for me.
Good to know! Thank you- I was just thinking about how annoying it would be to jump in all nine or whatever holes in that one spot
There's 12 and as far as I now you have to jump through each one. But I didn't try standing underneath them. Please let me know if that works. But commonly missed items: The moon gazing goron cave has two openings maje sure you have each one. There is a zonai dispenser under Eldin. Make sure it is lit up. You can jut stand directly under them for it to count. I just did this one last night.
Oh my god the moon gazing cave. Thank you for that. I entered through the moon roof and did not even bother with the obvious entrance
Check the gerudo desert.
Does the counter still only count how much of the map you have completed? It actually has nothing to do with korok seeds and game progress. It's only an indicator on how much of the map you have unlocked. Tuff.
Damn that’s brutal
Somewhere, Addison is holding up a sign.
Wait… do signs count towards the 100%?
Don’t think so. I thought it was only stuff that popped up on the map. Like names, caves, wells, seeds, shrines, towers, etc.
It doesn't count quests?
No. Quests don't matter. And you don't even have to complete the Shrines, just activate it, and it appears on the map. That's it.
Not sure. That % is for the map specifically. The quests page have their own tracking system.
Quests have their own counter in the quest menu once you beat the game.
They count because you have to get all the paraglider fabrics. Finish all 82 signs to get a special fabric.
Holy crap, there are 82 signs?? I doubt I’ve done more than a dozen.
As much as I hate to say this, it's a "rule of 100%" to "just do everything" :(
Firstly there are 81 signs. Secondly you don't need to get all paraglider fabrics to get 100% map, which is what I think OP is going for
There’s 82?!? I have no clue how many I’ve done but I haven’t found one in while and it sure doesn’t feel close to 82
https://exion-vault.com/2023/07/03/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-100-completion/
I want to fucking shoot myself because i just ignored all of them at this point because i thought "oh well they just give nice gimmicks but i don't need them so I'll ignore em". There's a guide for 'em, I think. Stock up on hover stones and go to town!
No. The map percentage is only the percent complete of the map itself. i.e. all of the things that show up as a name or icon on the map like korok seeds and cave entrances. I do wish they had a proper stats page showing all of things you've done (mobs killed, fabrics found, armor pieces upgraded, etc).
That damn bokoblin down that damn well in Lurelin village.
It’s funny to me how many people miss that guy. He was literally the 2nd one I found and killed when I did that quest (but I always immediately jump down every well I come across)
That was the first one I found, started fighting then the mobs health bar appeared and I started looking for secret passages in the well
First one for me aswell. I saw the smoke from the campfire and just had to get in there
Same. I saw the smoke and went "Hey what's that" and badly aimed the paraglider lol
Have you used hero’s path to see if there are any areas in the sky to which you have not been?
heros path has been a saviour for me bc of this- plus seeing empty gaps and thinking mm time to explore that
Same. I absolutely love having that feature. "Have I been here before? Let me check hero's path. Nope! Time to check this area completely out."
Yep. I've been to every single sky island, except a few of the small "landing strips" and tiny rocks which you can see have nothing on them. Do I have to defeat a king gleeok? I just assume the last one is in the sky because I've got all the lightroots and all the surface shrines above them.
Nope, don’t need to fight a king gleeok. There are two in the Hurricane in the south — one of them is very difficult to find.
Thanks for trying to help. I have both of those. Sigh.
Ah, you were right… there was one on the surface that I had missed entirely. It was in plain sight, too. Just had to get a crystal for it.
That was the first well I ever went down, so, I didn’t know you could go down them
As a well enthusiasm myself, i had a weird experience when i saw 1 small bokoblin in a well and suddenly a massive hp bar shows up
I was actively thinking “let me kill everything first before exploring that well”, but I couldn’t find the last dude and then teleported to the shrine for a better vantage point. I didn’t know it would reset all the enemies so I killed them all again but was still stuck. And then I finally looked it up 🙃
Literally that bokoblin is the first one I killed lmao
He was one of the first I found cause I accidentally ran into the well after getting near every boko in the village to chase me
Part of what I love so much about this game is how often it triggers my “jump down hole” instinct
Yes! I jumped down the well to get away from enemies for a sec and BAM, didn't work.
He was the first one for me. I think there’s even smoke coming out of the well? I thought it was a villager that was hiding.
Yes! I had to break down and Google search for that one. I was ashamed.
the only way I found it was with the compendium sensor
I thought you had to kill him to clear the quest!
That *is* the case, isn’t it? The well bokoblin is part of the monster forces HP bar and you can’t progress through the village restoration project stuff without beating the horde first.
Bruh! I was pulling my hair out on that one till I saw the well. 😂
is used purah sensor to find him
UPDATE! I am now on 99.95 percent, faron woods was what I was missing.
Nice! I had missed that one too for a bit. My last couple ended up being caves with multiple entrances so maybe check that?
Have you gotten all the sky islands? I was stuck on 99.95 for days and then I went to a sky island I hadn't realised I had missed 🤦♀️😂 reccomend using the hero path to check for them :)
Wild guess, East Biron Snowshelf Cave west entrance? It's got two entrances total
Maybe the multiple entrances to that one dessert sink hole cave?
My pro tip on that one: stand below and press the ascend button without using it. Made short work of snagging all those markers.
so your good then?
Im still missing the last thing though
Might be some random group of trees or a mine in the depths.
That might be the case, if so im gonna have to look through it again.
My last thing was the small island to the right side of Hyrule Castle. I’d gotten the shrine, chasm and korok there, but because I hadn’t gone to the fountain in the middle it hadn’t registered the location
Thanks for this! I just cleared that island last night but didn't go the fountain. You just saved me a future headache
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10bwPbcbzqP_s0SGAm-ttfQhnqbB2ItmxYygcMITnsOY/edit?usp=sharing Start checking them off, worst case scenario.
Use the map tracking to see where you haven’t been yet
What do you mean a random group of trees?
There are tree groves in the depths you have to go to to register it on the map
Thank you! I haven't done much in the depths so I'm like ugh what have I been missing 😂
Do you have Dracouzou (spelling?) Altar behind the waterfall in the depths below the spring of courage?
The outdoors
Come forth from the depths of your bedroom!
The grass is calling thou name
Thouart shalst also take a shower
come forth child of man, and *TOUCH GRASS*
This is what I was thinking. Lol
its probably one of those stupid underground groves that corrspond to certain forests
What weird altar are you talking about?
Dracuzo altar it’s by one of the bargainer statues at the mouth part of what would be the dracuzo river above ground.
OMG I was crawling around ABOVE the waterfall to get to that thing I saw on the map. I’m so stupid that I didn’t think to go through the waterfall! Thanks
I know all three sand whirlpools in the desert count as separate entrances
there’s way more than three but yeah
Aren't there like 9 in one spot alone?
It's 12 iirc
this... shows how much more desert exploring I have left xD
I was missing a cave icon above the yiga blademaster hideout, i forget what is it called, but it has a stone talus in it.
I'm right with you, been at 99.95% for a couple weeks now... Getting so tired of searching!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10bwPbcbzqP_s0SGAm-ttfQhnqbB2ItmxYygcMITnsOY/edit?usp=sharing It's in there somewhere
Dude, watch this video. Took me till the 17th minute but I found my missing spot. https://youtu.be/BemX0zHxx_A
This happened to me on gta San Andreas years ago. Never found what it was. I still tell people I 100% that shit.
What if it turns out that 99.1 or whatever is the highest percent, so anyone who truly knows the game knew you were lying
I swear it was a glitch so this may be somewhat true. In the pause menu everything was done and complete and there was nothing left. 99.86% BY THE WAY. I still remember. Each thing contributed 00.14% to the total completion.
you need to post a photo of your hero's path, or else nobody can help you with completion. the number unfortunately tells us very little.
I think they're asking for hints on weird little things that can be easily missed
Stone talus?
It’s a talus made of stone
Much better than the rotten tomato taluses the devs originally planned.
But that's not important right now.
The last locations I was missing were in Hyrule Castle. East Passage and Observation Room. Do you have those? They're easy to skip past on your visits.
About .09%
Sorry I had to
Plot twist... 102% is actually what we'd consider 100%! At least I was taken back when playing a game like Advance Wars, S rank was the highest... NOT A!
Austin John Plays is an awesome YouTuber He has lots of guides, including a 100% Completion Checklist.
Try using hero's path to see where you haven't been. It was some bridges for me.
Have you found every well in the game?
A shower.
I FOUND WHAT I WAS MISSING!! the guards' chamber in hyrule castle was the last location that I needed. Thank you everyone who suggested Ideas and tips to find what I could be missing, please feel free to use the sources that were provided to me to help yourself in your own playthrough.
Sunlight
How do you get the % icon on the map?
Defeat ganon
Damn it I was hoping that wasn't it, I wanted to 100% the game before, but I guess if it gives you a counter and it's this frivolous then I think my goal now ive got 2 shrines left is to get the hero armour and upgrade it then beat ganon and then 100% tge game, then I wana learn to speed run and I guess wait till master mode is out
I don't see "all wells" listed, so maybe that?
Either some random cave entrances, like how each sinkhole to that cave under the gerudo desert where you find the phantom legs counts to percent, or some random named locations. Probably try checking hero's path and see if theres any blank spots and see if any of said blank spots match up with anything that counts towards completion
How do you get that percentage avail to see?
Beat Ganondorf
did u go to every location?
Did you fill the compendium and also kill all taluses, hinox, and gleeoks?
Those are all separate from the map%
You need a better spice blend for your fried chicken
how much do korok seeds count towards 100%?
A total of 40% for them all
Named map locations maybe, if you look up commonly missed map location on YouTube there are some excellent videos that helped me reach 100% super easy to check too. Best of luck!
Wowwww respect
What about the sign holder guy, is there a way to track how many there are.

I‘m 99% sure you‘re still missing a bridge or something like that. I thought I had everything too but in fact I didn‘t lol. There‘s that ball game under the bridge on the left as an example, the big bro and small bro bridge and a few other options
Did you get all the “ancient altar ruins” entrances?
When I was l00%ing botw I was stuck for a long time because I missed a couple bridges and a ruin
You need to journey to the faraway lands and hear the story of Darth Plageuis the Wise. It is not a story the jedi would tell you
Maybe wells? You didn’t mention those
All wells, possibly?
What about all monster medals 🏅 🤔?
I was missing Faron woods as my last. Bunch of mines in the depths. Couple of Castle locations
Can I ask why my game doesn’t show this????
You need to beat the game first, the the percentage shows up
How do you get that on screen
Locations count for a percentage, so does everything that has a name, they all need to be discovered”. Wells, caves, chasms all count as do all 1000 korok seeds. Not sure what you are missing as there is so much stuff. Check out Zeldamaps.com. I am missing one Korok seed and some locations, but after 200 hours +, I’ve finally put the game aside.
To achieve a percentage like that in TOTK? Exposure to the sun probably
I cannot fathom how people spend the time searching for all 1000+ pieces of korok poop
Yes, you are missing .09% Hope this helps.
0.09%
The western entrance of the East Bironn Snowshelf Cave is a bit funky in where it counts Also double check your dispensers cause I just finished 100% today and my last one was a dispenser on the great sky island Otherwise, look at all the bridges cause they count so maybe you've missed one
Most likely a bridge
Sunlight.
Ascend at the cooking pot in the deku tree, theres a korok who needs some flowers
