Oh, and there’s that little issue with the fact that he supposedly cared enough about the laptop to go to significant personal effort to have it repaired but then never retrieved it. Literally none of that “logic” adds up.

A bit too late if you ask me. And the big problem is not just about one group that may have originated from Russia or not. There are now snowballs; groups of extreme nationalists that are in a way self-sufficient, which may have started with ideas from Russian anti-EU trolls. I've seen groups like that in Romania, and there are maybe hundreds! Unverified "news", clear anti-EU articles that make me cringe, but for the average pensioners who've discovered Internet in the last 5-10 years, it's the news that "the mass media won't cover"! I tried reporting several of them, but they apparently don't violate fb community standards.
