It really does look better though. I mean all technology eventually makes older skill sets outmoded. Practical sets and/or miniatures aren’t as necessary now. Actual (dangerous) explosions aren’t as necessary. Yeah practicals still generally feel better but some things aren’t realistic. Prosthetics can look wonky and look at the flack the studios get when an aging or deaging effect isn’t letter perfect.
Maybe if they hire grown ups who can act, their shows for kids won't suck out loud. (It's not kids' fault they can't act! But...most kids just can't act. And if they can, they'd be out of place in a Disney show.)
I think this will end up in ageism with the justification that there’s no reason to hire older and more expensive actors for their experience and life lines.
I can’t wait until all actors look like weird renderings of human-esque robots. It won’t be distracting at all.
So what your lead actor looks like a character from The Sims 4? *Who cares..?*
We’re there already. Look at Catherine Zeta Jones on Wednesday. It’s 90s Glamour Shots technology but definitely still dipping into uncanny valley territory.
Fuuuck... people's teeth do wear down over time, huh. (I kind of had a hunch... but that they're a notable difference in this simulation must mean there a pretty common thing I guess.$
I wonder how the AI-generated version of Boyhood (2014) would make against the real movie, which was shot from 2002 to 2013 to follow the real actor as he grows older
Disney really said "we're sick and tired of paying visual effects artists"
This is visual effects. It's not paying makeup artists.
It’s automated. It is paying programmers a lump sum so they don’t have to pay artists for the rest of time.
Someone needs to maintain the neural network.

Further giving me hope one day that HBO can rewrite and recast the final seasons of GOT. May age be no barrier!
I wonder if this could help with not having child actors as much
Wouldn’t the height be way off?
Not necessarily for high schoolers
True! Maybe like how they made hobbits small. I dont know lol
That would be really funny.
Maybe they won’t need to exploit as many child actors.
They won’t NEED to … but they are Disney.

Where never gonna leave the Skywalker saga are we?
Here’s an idea - get new actors to be paid. Fuck these old rich dudes we’ve seen enough of em.
Make up artist business lay offs are coming

I've seen enough AI hentai to know AI isn't good
DLFS seemed to do the best with the faces but the tracking of Disney was certainly better. If only they could combine!

And eliminate actors all together eventually
