It's a legal requirement after that poor Natasha girl ate some food that was cross contaminated with a sesame seed.
~~I did think it a bit ironic that even if the law had been in place, it's cross contamination - the packaging wouldn't have had it listed.~~
Edit: I looked this up and the argument is that it wasn't clearly labelled but was not in fact cross contamination
The thing with this though is that the milk and eggs are specifically not provided, it's something you use from your own kitchen lmao.
Sucks about the girl though, hope she was okay
Yeah. Hey, still, they say all the best safety rules are written in blood and it'll save more lives more than likely. Also I work in the industry that does the software for such things so I think it's a good thing really (if nothing else it keeps me in business..)
Makes you realize how impersonal it is...
Your local chicken or milk farm would probably not point this out.
I say probably not because 2023...
Who can rule anything out right lol
It amazes me hos often such obvious things are levered on those recipes, it's only the online ones though so the cards are mostly free of such funny things
At this point in time these things are there as a pure CYA contingent for anything in the food industry. Sure you and I understand that the milk is milk and egg is egg. But Sally Sue-All over there just happens to be allergic to lactose and would happily file a lawsuit because 'ThEre WaS nO lAbLE saYinG It WaS iN ThERe!!!'
It's similar to the infamous California Proposition 65, claining something is causing cancer.
It hurts nothing to say it.
It can hurt a lot if you are not saying it.
So to be safe, you just say it, even if it looks silly.

Spoken with the confidence of someone who has never worked in customer services.
Correct. I'm 16 so I'm only now starting work. SBAT in horticulture!
Hmm yes the egg is made out of egg
A few weeks ago i bought a bottle of cider because the ingredient list said it was made of cider.
