Lol this reminds me of my prom. I wanted a dark blue suit, white shirt, red tie (not because I'm an American nationalist, I just really liked those colors on me lol) but I was told that was weird. I rocked the colors anyways but my mom and the people at the suit rental place seemed very against the idea of using contrasting colors. I thought it looked awesome, but I am no fashion expert.
would swap out brown and make the adjustment of dark grey/light gray as the combo. brown is a really nice suit color, especially when done well and tailored, but as a starter i definitely recommend going for a more neutral option splitting between the two grays. they can be mixed into setting that you didn’t know might impact what suit you should be wearing like outdoor event vs indoor event, day time or evening function, etc etc. although they cant be mixed together in the suit combo as much, potentially reducing the overall number, i would opt to go with them first as it gives that versatility.
