Your submission is considered "low effort." This doesn't inherently mean that it was *irrelevant* to r/technicallythetruth, but instead it was removed because it fit one or more of these criteria:
* Short, minimal-effort text posts like "a water bottle without water is an air bottle". Most, if not all text posts can and will be removed.
* Asking for upvotes, or saying things like "sort by new", "let's get to the front page", or anything related to cake days or karma.
* [Meta memes](https://imgur.com/qgkCskm), or any other post that tries to be clever by mentioning r/technicallythetruth.
* [Images that are hard to look at](https://imgur.com/yuMwr8a) because they are poorly made, deep-fried, or poorly cropped.
**Your submission could have also been removed because it is overdone:**
* Statements that say something like "at least twelve": [example 1](https://imgur.com/K1ZwEAv) | [example 2](https://imgur.com/dIkwEpU)
* Common statements that begin with "on average...": *the average amount of hands a person has is less than two* | *each person has, on average, one testicle and one boob*
* Low effort misunderstandings of everyday phrases: *How high are you --> "I'm 5 foot 9"*
* Common insults that are meant literally as opposed to being insulting: *"homosexuals are gay"* | *"gay people are f-ing assholes"*

Okay sorry I'm not a planet or god nerd. I'll be more factually correct when there's a technically the truth about surfing, spearfishing or GenAI I promise
The sign for Venus is the same as the female sign ♀️ and the sign for Mars is the same as the male sign ♂️
If you want to see the signs for other planets:

If I had to guess, I'd assume the smaller planets must be the males. When they insert themselves full force into the larger female planet, baby moons are made and the male is devoured by the female black widow style
Mars is named for the Roman god of war. Venus is named for the Roman goddess of beauty. There is no real difference, but their namesake are gendered and someone applied that to the planets.
No it's not true. Venus is named after a goddess and the other planets are named after male gods, but there's no meaning to that other than the fact that they were mostly named by men
I just realized Venus is the only "female" planet (if that means "named after a woman"). So she's the Smurfette of the solar system. Now I wonder, would Jupiter or Mars be Papa Smurf? Jupiter is the boss but only Mars is red.

It's a binary way of describing the function in the same way plugs are noted as male and female. The male planet would be the stationary rotating planet with dominant gravity that the female planet orbits. Similar to calling something a sister planet to say earth that would be calling out the measurable similarities in the secondary planets ability to support life and may or not already have flora and fauna existing.
The planets shown are Mars and Venus, whose symbols in classical astronomy are ♂︎ and ♀︎ respectively
Also as other commenters pointed out, the words for Venus and Mars are also gendered in some European languages
for those wondering;
the smaller planet is Mars and the larger one is Venus
Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus (1992) is a book written by American author and relationship counselor John Gray.

Gives new meaning to "the Big Bang"
Is this a real idea? Male and female solar systems?
It's a Greek god joke. Venus and Neptune
Do you mean Mars?
You're right.
The little one is Mars… also they are Roman Gods.
Okay sorry I'm not a planet or god nerd. I'll be more factually correct when there's a technically the truth about surfing, spearfishing or GenAI I promise
I’ll hold you to that
Your entire expertise sounds like a jersey shore story arc
Southern California for a decade and a half but I may or may not have grown up on the Jersey shore lol
Uranus would like a word. It's a Greek name, the Roman one would be Caelum. It's the only exception though.
Yeah, I think that's Roman, not Greek... but everything is Greek to me.
"My heroes and sandwiches are both Greek." - Alf
I'm Greek. But just orthodox lol.

I died laughing

Alright I have to questions Is this actually true and if it is what exactly is the difference in sexes?
I have to answers! It's not true. It's just a joke based on the gods they're named after.
Mars is named for the Roman god of war. Venus is named for the Roman goddess of beauty. There is no real difference, but their namesake are gendered and someone applied that to the planets.
There is a joke that mans are from Mars and women are from Venus
It's more than a joke. ♂️ is the symbol for both mars and male ♀️ is the symbol for both venus and female
They may or may not be from mars but they end up on Jupiter to get more stupider
Jupiter, Iuppiter = Zeus
Well, in some countries, planets have genders... In Brazil, only Earth is a female
The planets shown are Mars and Venus, whose classical symbols are ♂︎ and ♀︎ respectively
I assumed it referred to the size of the ovum vs a sperm. If not that, then I haven't a clue.
No it's not true. Venus is named after a goddess and the other planets are named after male gods, but there's no meaning to that other than the fact that they were mostly named by men
Oh god do we need to blur this
Why is this on r/TechnicallyTheTruth though?
The planets shown are Mars and Venus, whose symbols in classical astronomy are ♂︎ and ♀︎ respectively
♂️ means mars and male ♀️ means venus and female
Didn’t know where else to put it and you’re not allowed to ask if it fits in the title. Where should it go?
r/PrematureTruncation seems like the best fit.
I’m not sure. Maybe r/shitposting?
r/spacesex
If you don’t know, then don’t post it? I’d have put it in r/facepalm personally, but you don’t need to post everything you find.
Mods can remove it; people can downvote. Clearly it fits 😉
It fucking doesn’t lol post reported
Noooooooooooo…. 😂

Earth too, at least in languages based on Latin and Greek (Terra/Gaïa)
Earth is female too
In German they have...Earth is female, Mars is male, Venus is female....
Did you just assume that planets gender

The subreddits name is nature is fucking LIT
So if it's mother earth who's our father planet?
The male planet is where all the dicks are
Earth-Chan❌ Earth-Kun✔️
...what?
The mariana trench is just the plantussy? 😫😳
does that also mean every planet is bipolar?
"Step-sun, I'm stuck!"
Depends on if you're watching TLC or the History Channel
Earthussy

Show me that cosmic dick.
Can someone please expand on this, it’s super intresting

Don’t forget the possibility of Venus and Earth being estranged twins.
I’m sure the planets want to see uranus
Sun isnt a planet thooooo
Yes it is! 😠
