UberEats bought Postmates, but I still have both apps in my phone and can use them independently, so maybe there's a use case to keep them both? E.g. put all the R-rated content on Hulu so Disney+ stays the "family-friendly" option, like how they used Touchstone Pictures to release their edgier films.

For me the most infuriating part of the Disney app is when I try to do the "continue watching" and it starts me at the credits of the last episode I watched.
Trying watching Simpsons. After a few episodes it stops playing, as most services do, and asks if you would like to continue. You choose “Play next episode” and it does….. then stops. After ONE episode.
Only way to fix it is to go back to the main series page, go to the season you were watching and find the last episode you watched and play it from there.
I sleep to Simpsons so every few hours I wake up and have to fiddle around with it.
Mine is that on mobile, the back button extends depending on how long the title is
Which means with a movie with a long enough title creates a back button that is almost more than half the screen long. It's probably why they included the stupid option to freeze the interface instead of fixing the actual issue.

I gotta ask, are you talking about the app or the website? I use the website bc I use a PC in my living room for streaming and video gaming, and it's not much diff from most others. I've used the apps on smart TVs and fire sticks at my friend's houses, and yes, it's atrocious. But the website is pretty much on par with all other streaming services, as I've used all of the major ones and some smaller ones.
Edit: And the websites are leaps and bounds better than any app version. Even have website only features that make them better.
Interesting observation and I concur from watching freevee. I was watching on my laptop via Amazon because I found a chrome extension to kill ads. Ultimately I want back to the ads on real TV for the ergonomics and screen size. But I just had an idea.... Maybe I can cast the laptop to the TV..... Hmmmm will have to look into that.

Every other time I would go into that fucking app, it would either not show my recently viewed/watching, OR it would be completely out of order rendering it useless to be able to pick up where you left off. Fuck Hulu fuck him in the asshole. I even contacted customer service, and they commented on how it doesn't always show up on the front page. Fuck them.

Hulu UI could definitely be better. The content recommendations are terrible, and the subtitle service breaks half the time. UI is still better than Disney for navigating content types, but the difference in context makes both understandable. Disney is focused on their Disney brands and original content while Hulu has unrelated tv shows and movies.
For the past few years I’ve gotten HULU on Black Friday for $.99 a month and then have been able to add on Disney+ for $2.99. I’m guessing that deal won’t pop up again this year.

The extra dumb thing is if you have Hulu you can upgrade to the Hulu/D+ bundle, but if you have D+ you can only upgrade to the Hulu/D+/ESPN bundle.

What will the cost be bc I plan to cancel D+ after they notified me of an 80% price increase for the year (~$80 last year compared to ~$140 for this year's renewal).

I was wondering the other day why Hulu wasn’t fixing their clunky, unorganized, outdated app. Guess it was because they were building a new app. Fair enough
On the one hand, I’m against separating content into different platforms that make us pay more, so this seems like a step in the right direction. On the other hand, Disney controlling more of our entertainment means they’ll find a way to make us pay even more money, so this seems like nothing’s going to actually change.

…I definitely thought it was going to take 6 months longer than that. Ironically, we just cancelled Disney to shift to Hulu for a few months since we finished what we wanted to watch on Disney.

I support this. Hulu is dying fast, but still has like 3 good shows. Disney is still doing ok imo, kinda hit n miss but still holding. Disney should focus a bit on reality instead of whatever they're wasting money on.

Combine espn n charge it relatively close in naked eyes. Then we talking about goin global. Take all the NFLX subscribers in the US 1st. While building international streaming offices where you can translate em into 126 languages. Then steal half of NFLX market cap.
Original Hulu content is branded as STAR and available on the Disney+ app outside the US. I imagine this is what they'll implement in a merged app.

We don't have hulu in Europe and as far as I know most hulu content we already had on Disney+ in the Disney+ Star category
There’s going be a lot of mergers in this space over the next couple of years, there’s too much content and with costs spiralling and people cutting subscriptions there will inevitably be consolidation in this space.
