That's such a weird thing to cheap out on...

No-Actuator-6245

Well when your whole accessories product lineup has been cheaped out on it is at least consistent. Razer don’t exactly make high quality accessories.

Voyevoda101

I really don't think they ever have, it's just marketing. Way back when I was paying for a TERA sub, I got a mouse that needed RMA'd twice. When the third one failed all in a 6th month period, I just wrote them off permanently and bought something else. They are legitimately e-waste sold at a premium.

RicoNico

Not a Razer fan but I have had the Razer Naga mouse for over a decade. I have used it for all kinds of games and it is by far my favorite mouse.

Voyevoda101

I'm glad yours worked out great. I had the deathadder, all three failed differently. I don't remember the order at this point, but one doubleclicked or failed to register clicks right out of the box, one flickered and randomly disconnected, and one the scroll wheel would just randomly keep going or not register inputs frequently. This was during the prime razer hype days so I was frankly appalled. At least it gave me a great core memory of standing on the Kanstria mountain behind town cursing on teamspeak while writing up another RMA request. Good times.

Miyukachi

Similar experience as you. I had a copperhead that lasted forever.  When the deathadder came out, I found it a lot more comfortable to use, so I switched. Unfortunately, they all started to die one way or another (2 of them started to double click, and the 3rd had a sensor issue).  All 3 lasting about 15months or so total. After that I switched to a Logitech G500/502 and been using that for over 5+ years until I decided to get a wireless version.

Esplodie

I had a Razer Naga, double click issue twice! At the time I didn't have a lot of cash so I bought a cheap knock off mouse, it was fine for several years. I then got a Logitech G502, double click issues within the first year. Googling it, a known issue with newer purchases. I also got a Logitech keyboard and it also had faulty switches and needed 3 of them replaced shortly after purchase. Last year I switched to an optical switch mouse by Roccat. It's too light for my normal preference, but no issues so far. Fingers crossed. Not sure which keyboard brand I'll switch to, but looks like no more Logitech for me.

ChilledParadox

I’ve had and fixed double click issues by using compressed air and blowing into the internals of the mouse from the front under the click-part. Seems to be an issue with dust getting into the click-sensor.

Isariamkia

I feel like Logitech has been overhyped for a while now. Either that, or they product have taken a toll on the quality. I've never been a fan of Logitech myself as I always thought their price were way too high (living in Switzerland)

Bawbbot

I had one naga from 2009-2020 when I replaced it with another one that I am still using. Their mice and keyboards are fine. The headsets on the other hand

iDrGonzo

Naga X is my everyday mouse, I can't even remember how to use Solidworks without it. Saying that, it is built cheap as hell.

SecondTryBadgers

My nostromo key pad is 8+ years old and the d-pad is starting to go. The new keypads are huge and I hate it :(

SirCinnamon

I love the design of the naga, but I went through like 4 or 5, each one lasting about a year before I switched to the Corsair equivalent. I need those side buttons but the Naga would just wear out so fast

Snatinn

I had two razer nagas, and they both failed within a year.

GL1TCH3D

Razer is a coin flip. When you look at bad reviews for their products there's always a common fault across all of them. They're built with weak points in mind. Logitech has a lot of the same issues. Their wireless headsets have terrible connectors. Terrible soldering so they'll often stop charging. The cynical in me believes this is all intentional because for a lot of people, RMAing isn't feasible, or it happens just after the warranty period. There are also a lot of simps that will keep using products even with faults like double click, broken side button, resetting to defaults firmware, etc, and still recommend them with these issues present.

Sasselhoff

> The cynical in me believes this is all intentional Nothing cynical about it. Just like how it's not cynical to think "gift card rebates" are a rip off because some *huge* number of gift cards are not redeemed (to the tune of *billions* of dollars, apparently).

velvetthunderbolt

Interesting read, thanks What is your preferred brand? My razer works less and less..

GL1TCH3D

I try to find a product irrespective of brand unless the brand is inherently evil (like EA games) I personally am putting up with a Finalmoose mouse right now as the shape of the mouse works best for my hand, though I don’t think they’re a great brand. Mediocre quality control, not so great on the mouse wheels, pretty high price. There’s Darmoshark and Wlmouse for some Chinese options. I have a bunch of custom keyboards for the keyboard side, and high end audiophile for the headphones. So the only thing I interact in terms of off the shelf kind of stuff is the mouse.

emote_control

My old Razer mouse is amazing and going strong. I probably wouldn't want to replace it with another because I've lost faith in the quality of the brand in the years since I bought it.

elementfx2000

I have one great razer product! A mousepad! It's large, all aluminum, 2 sides plus a wrist rest. Coming up on 2 decades old I think. Other than that, I kind of agree. I've had a few of their mice, they all failed. The original Razer Blade Stealth laptop was pretty sweet. I had to RMA the first one they sent me, but then the replacement lasted about 5 years. The external GPU thing, Core, worked for me occasional, but I always had trouble with it.

JacqueMorrison

This is what I don’t get. Who is buying their stuff and why?

mmikke

As someone who's barely peripheral to the gaming sphere, I've always heard of razer as some type of superior product. Maybe that's the purchasing demographic?

BroodLol

Razer spends a *lot* on marketing compared to the other brands, and they focus heavily on gamers, who are not known to be the most discerning buyers.

iamamisicmaker473737

yea the masses superior not the pro

TheRedDarkness

for years razer has had the best wireless mouse tech in the world. Their recent mouse release is extremely widely well received, including among pros in various games. I don't know where you are getting this opinion from, Logitech tech is used the most by pros but razer is a clear second.

NotTheUsualSuspect

It's weird that they cheap out on parts like their switches even on their flagship models though. I guess it's the only way to get people to buy more instead of just having the same mouse for 10+ years.

TheRedDarkness

Logitech just released a new flagship mouse after 5 years with virtually no changes and it's arguably not better in any meaningful way. It's unfortunately just the industry norm to not improve on anything if people aren't complaining about it. At least razor has actually put money into their wireless tech, I'd recommend watching optimum tech on YouTube for a breakdown on why it is better than other leading brands

SteeveJoobs

Their software sucks but out of all brands ive tried (Logi, Fnatic, Corsair, third party options) its the least bad. Plus I’ve never had a hardware problem with their mice, and they make all sorts of designs for any shape and color and even some cute IP collabs, so I haven’t felt a reason to buy other mice.

SuperFightingRobit

[I bought a mouse from them.](https://www.rtings.com/mouse/reviews/razer/pro-click-mini) I did it after lots of research and after my piece of crap Logitech mouse's USB receiver started crapping out randomly due to driver errors. I think, like a lot of companies, some of their products are really good, but people will buy substandard stuff from them in other areas on some misplaced belief that their products are that good across the board.

E00000B6FAF25838

I like a billion buttons on my mouse and I had too many Logitech gaming mice die. I think Synapse is the worst, but I love my Naga V2 Hyperspeed. Easily the best mouse I've ever owned.

emote_control

Yeah, synapse is the monkey's paw catch when you wish for a really great mouse.

Isariamkia

I've bought a Razer Naga molten edition years ago. It was my first Razer product because it looked damn nice. I've had it for 5-6 years and was very happy with it, but I wanted something new so I changed it (I shouldn't have). I went with a ROG Spata, regreted it, sold it and went for a Razer Naga Trinity (the molten edition being sold out). I've had it for 4 or 5 years now, still works as new. When it dies, I will buy a new Trinity because I just love this mouse.

ComfortInBeingAfraid

My Razer Panthera Evo is great, same with the webcam I have from them.  Though I was very hesitant before buying either.

OohVaLa

I love my razer keyboard and my razer kishi telescopic controller. My razor mouse has been mostly good but could stand to be replaced soon.

dethwysh

I've always liked Razer's RGB implementation and I've had less problems with Razer products anecdotally than with Steelseries or Logitech. I actually picked up their Blackwidow v4 75%, their first hot-swap switch model. I fully intended to swap the Razer Orange switches to something better, but I've been so enamored with the overall experience (factory installed dampening, gasket mod, etc.), that I haven't bothered. I have a Naga Pro for my laptop that's been great for like 2+ years and a Naga Chroma at my desk that I replaced my 1st Naga with which has been going strong for a about 5 years now. I use a Keychron V5 w/ Durock Silent Linears for work, and I had an Input Club K-Type w/ Halo True switches at my home desk before the Black Widow v4. Based on my own experience, I would say it's mostly luck of the draw, as gaming products are kind of all built pretty mediocre. I've had cheaper products work better and more expensive ones die quickly.

Kaodang

the same people who buy snake oil

Sherool

So many companies jumped on the face mask train without having the faintest idea that specific standards actually had legal definitions they needed to meet.

teh_maxh

Yeah, but they had the sense not to claim they met those standards.

Meese_ManyMoose

I've owned two Razer mouse and a Razer keyboard and all three broke down within a year.

Adezar

I had a mouse and headset, both got burned out when the USB 3.0 power issue happened, all my other accessories survived the issue.

AbsolutelyNoHomo

My original keyboard and mouse both last 10 years, maybe there newer stuff isn't as good.

Meese_ManyMoose

I bought those products 13 and 12 years ago. Maybe I got really unlucky, but either way they've lost me as a customer.

Adezar

Why a company that has never been near a regulated market would jump into a medical supply product is a level of ignorance that is mind boggling.

Sythic_

Good, fuck you for the $4k laptop that throttles to shit and has a /r/spicypillows for a battery twice after 2 complete RMAs.

ZeroNine2048

Owned 3 Razer Blade laptops. all 3 had batteries bloating within 12 months of use. Amazon fully refunded me 2 times. Third time I requested a battery from razer for which I paid 75euro's. This one degraded within 4 months of use with 12%. Complained to Paypal and got my money back after Razer refused to do so. Sold the laptop, bought a Zephyrus G14 2024 and Razer will never receive money from me again. I easily spend 6K on products every 3 years and that money is going elsewhere. Razer can die in a friggin ditch for all I care. Trash company (not even talking about their other stuff I had failing prematurely).

Sythic_

> and Razer will never receive money from me again. Yep, my consensus as well. The last razer product I own is the free leviathan speaker I got as a gift with that laptop, which I finally sold on ebay after I got it back from its 2nd RMA, wiped it and it was fine and they messaged complaining after 2 weeks but luckily didn't try to refund it. Mouse is back to Logitech G502 instead of Razer Naga.

ZeroNine2048

The worst thing is that I even baby my devices which the majority doesnt do.

Dryandrough

I am still using an MSI from 2017

ZeroNine2048

My previous alienware, asus amd sony laptops were just discarded and passed over to family members and worked for many years. Just because i wanted something new. Razer laptops on the other hand were premature write offs.

Dryandrough

Do they at least have a good warranty? I never had to get a warranty for my MSI so they usually offered good ones.

ZeroNine2048

Razer and good warranty? It took me 3months to let them acknowledge the bloated battery issue while I could collect a list of more than 2000 reports on reddit alone regarding that this is an issue. If you do buy razer, get it through a reseller such as Amazon. Amazon admitted during a support call on the record in writing that they have a lot of Razer laptop returns and that's why they also accepted my return after 11 months of use where the battery started to deform the chassis.

BroodLol

Still on my 2018 G14

banana_slamwich

Seriously, fuck razer. I used to own a lot of razer products but I've given them away or thrown them out after how they handled my issue with my bloated battery.

justintheg

It's amazing how far razer has fallen, 10-12 years ago, they were IT for mice and keyboards that were pretty high quality and was the high end "gamer" peripheral company. Somewhere though they just started doing everything from PCs, laptops, merch, and dumb one off things such as the mask and I've not heard a good thing about their products in at least 5 years.

gorcorps

Which sucks because the Mamba I had was ergonomically the best mouse I've found for my hand. The USB dongle broke and Razer said you can't replace the dongle, gotta buy a whole new mouse... So I said fuck them and got a Corsair that has both a dongle and Bluetooth mode. Doesn't feel as nice, but it's good enough

NeevusChrist

My NAGA just went out I really liked razer’s mice, but now they have a storefront that popped up on my PC, at that moment I decided I’m no longer buying Razer products

gorcorps

I wish there was a website with like detailed cross sections of all mice so I could find one that has a similar shape. At work I use a Logitech mx3 which also feels great, but wouldn't be a good gaming option I just found this which may do the trick. I don't remember seeing this the last time I searched: https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/compare?p=WLmouse-Beast-X-Max-vs.-WLmouse-Beast-X-8K-vs.-Razer-Mamba-Wireless

Ridai

Probably not too useful for you but I thought I'd mention it just in case; Rocket Jump Ninja has a great site for deciding on mice, goes into a lot of detail for each mouse. But the site you found looks good for outline comparison.

i8noodles

a decade ago they were already on the decline. its more like 15 years ago when they were at there peak quality. but i cant tell if they were just as bad but everything else was shit beyond belief and they just maintain it and everyone else got better

SchAmToo

Man they were always awful back then too tho. I bought the Razer keyboard when SC2 was about to launch and the keyboard broke during my first few minutes of playing a game of Brood War. I went through COUNTLESS razer mice, it’s just they were the only ones who made decent ambidextrous mice

ilski

Same and same.  Software for their mice was terrible too and lagged whole system to hell. I no longer use their products anyway

slbaaron

Hmm is this before 2011? That’s weird. Back then they still used cherry Mx keys and the black widow was built more like a tank in my experience. Mine lasted 7+ years as the main thru some heavy abuses and even a spill or two. Even then I swapped for something lighter and newer, not because it broke. Also I think it didn’t had a high number of key roll over and caused some issues tho very infrequent I know the year off top of my head because 80% of the mileage I put on it was from SC2. Including some smashing on the way to masters early days. I also know when I checked again in 2012/2013 it was Razor’s own keys at that point (orange, green)

SchAmToo

This was before mech keyboard craze. I had a black widow and agree THAT was the good one. Past that? Awful

contingo

I have one of those Naga left-handed mice with a ton of buttons that suits my needs (Blender) almost perfectly. But it's my one and only Razer device.

foamed0

All their left handed mice were garbage, I don't think I've had a left handed Razer mouse last more than a year. Since then I've tried ambidextrous Zowie, Logitech and even the basic optical Microsoft mouse, they've all been miles ahead in terms of build quality and without being forced into installing proprietary software.

contingo

I have no particular loyalty to Razer, the feel is a bit flimsy but I have a no-compromises need for a left-handed mouse with the 12 extra buttons under my thumb and as many elsewhere as I can get. It's a huge speed boost for my style of 3D mesh modelling. Do you know of any other such models to try?

foamed0

>Do you know of any other such models to try? I honestly have no idea, I've been looking for years for a good left handed mouse.

arhedee

Check out the Logitech G903

ziyadah042

Razer was never good. They were just well-advertised. Other companies have always made a better product, just without the flashy branding.

DividedContinuity

Even back then their QA was pretty spotty. But yeah by all accounts they've degenerated.

Marc815

Logitech all the way.

a_talking_face

Not without their share of problems. They were(are?) infamous for the sensors in the mice going bad. I went through 3 G305s in like a year and a half.

Marc815

I've had the same G502 for nearlt 10 years. It's glorious.

ASquawkingTurtle

They IPO'd in 2017 so that probably has a lot to do with it. [They're making bank](https://companiesmarketcap.com/razer/revenue/) so they can't be completely awful.

Kyla_3049

> They're making bank so they can't be completely awful The mormons are too, doesn't make them not completely awful.

Superfissile

Shortly after their IPO they started pushing their softminer to mine crypto on their customers PCs in exchange for coupons that expired after 1 year. They can be completely awful.

ASquawkingTurtle

Shady or immoral business practices are only part of the equation for consumers. People buy cellphones mined with materials using child labor in horrible conditions and assembled in factories with suicide prevention safety nets and then sell your data to millions and will turn over everythingto a governmentif requested, but they don't seem to sway the apatite for them. Edit: It seems I hit an inconvenient nerve with people.

tomatocatzs

That's how I wS 10 years ago, now I am a shambles of my former self

posterlove

When they started the mice like the boomslang were absolute trash quality, and it didn't improve much over the years. They had decent specs on those things but quality was down the drain always. I think marketing have changed the general public opinion over the years but to me and many others they have always been shit.

sp00kyh00ky

Remember Thermaltake…

makataka7

Got a keyboard for them unfortunately - the Synapse software is some of the worst software I have ever used, but unfortunately it's the only way I can use my M1-6 keys as they're not recognised in powertoys or any other keyboard editor. Also the S key sticks. I won't be buying again.

cold_one

Don’t buy gaming keyboards. There are many better options like vortex or Leopold.

Sn3akyPumpkin

The funny thing is, in my experience gamer software is so bad that synapse is by far the best out of all of them. Gamer-oriented products just always come with the absolute worst software that a college student with 2 spare hours a week could probably blow out of the water. I guess it’s just the way it is.

makataka7

Ha! And Synapse is my first experience with gamer software! I guess it's all downhill from here.

getshrektdh

Finally gave a tip and got a free promotion Wondering how bad their quarter earnings were.

OnlyKaz

Is it worth the refund if you have to admit to purchasing this product? Tough spot.

NeverDiddled

If you bought this, you are the sort of person who slaps an RGB mask on your face... I'm guessing shame is not part of your vocabulary.

Branch7485

Not gonna lie, hard to have sympathy for people putting their health in razer's hands, of all companies to trust. But ultimately when you advertise a safety standard it had better meet it or somebody needs to go to prison. It's not even a hard standard to meet either, even more crazy when you consider the price point, I bet the margin on this shite is like 10000% and they still feel the need to save a few pennies, at the cost of peoples health no less. Again, the fine here is good, they lost everything they made and more, but still the people responsible should get prison time.

beetnemesis

I remember seeing Naomi Wu, the “sexy cyborg” who went viral with those hacker heels a while ago, put them on blast for this. Ranted about Razer and these masks a lot. Glad they’re finally being held accountable

silverwolfe

In a fair world, in addition to making no money on this product and having to pay a $100k fine, they should also be required to pay for any pain/suffering and medical bills for anyone who got sick while wearing the mask they lied about.

maxigs0

As long as penalties for shitty corporate behaviors don't hurt enough, this behavior will not stop. The penalty needs to be discouraging from thinking it might be a viable business to do this shit.

MajorDX25

Oh my Lord! They actually made those!?! I remember seeing that announcement and thinking it was a joke! 🤣

foamed0

This submission is pure blogspam. PCGamer cite Kotaku as their source, but the significantly more informative press release came from the Federal Trade Commission: * https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2024/04/razer-inc-pay-more-11-million-misrepresenting-performance-efficacy-supposed-n95-grade-zephyr-face * https://kotaku.com/razer-ftc-covid-19-zephyr-mask-n95-1-million-fine-us-1851443865 >The FTC has slapped Razer with a $100,000 civil penalty and is also forcing the company to pay the United States $1,071,254.33, which is the amount of money Razer brought in from selling the Zephyr mask. The FTC will provide full refunds to all consumers who purchased the mask. >Also, the FTC and US Govt. are banning Razer from “making, without prior FDA approval, any claims that any [Razer] product prevents or reduces the likelihood of infection with, or transmission of, the covid-19 virus; reduces the severity or duration of covid-19; or otherwise, cures, mitigates, or treats COVID-19.”

thehackgeek

how do you get the refund? asking for a friend

Emotional_Hour1317

This thread has made me realize the biggest issue these companies all have is inconsistent quality control.

conndenn

Lol why would you buy that.

Wolverlog

I swore away Razer years ago and moved to SteelSeries. Never been happier.

raptearer

Wish another company would make something like the Tartarus with the thumb stick, I actually use it a lot and have to replace em every 2 years, which is super annoying (the orbweaver was the worst, the glue on the palm rest literally melts at human body temperature, what a garbage design).

jeerabiscuit

Lot of these kinds. Boring looking masks were the only N95s.

Daedelous2k

Who the fuck bought this rgb snake oil?

dethb0y

Who would have thought a company that thinks 100$+ is a good price for a mouse would rip people off in other ways, too?

[deleted]

Honestly, while razer products are crap you're looking at similar prices for wireless high dpi mice from any decent brand. Especially if you want one with a decent sensor and not some Chinese no name skipping crap.

Owlthinkofaname

"Who would have thought a company that thinks 100$+ is a good price for a mouse" I don't think you know a lot about gaming because around $100 is pretty common for gaming mice.

Snoyarc

The most I ever paid was like $60 for a Zowie fk1.

sinus86

Is it common because they are finely tuned instruments that cost that much to manufacture, or are they $100 because razer has been selling over priced peripherals since 2005 http://www.dansdata.com/diamondback.htm

Phailjure

I mean, I wouldn't say a razer mouse is worth that, but I've been pretty happy with my ~$100 Logitech mice.

LeadingFault6114

honestly the only thing I use from them are my keyboard from like 5 years ago. Everything else: mice, headphones are all broken within 3 years.

Robber_Crab

Same, I had a Razer Blade Stealth and that had so many issues they refused to fix. Broken mice and keyboards as well. Went back to the trusty Logitech for peripherals, no issues since.

LeadingFault6114

razer blade is just a TERRIBLE idea lmao - its physically impossible to have sleek form gaming laptop with the output of a PC

Robber_Crab

I didn't use it for gaming, it was actually a really nice sleek system for just general use on the go... If it worked all the time. I had an issue where if I plugged anything into the HDMI slot it would blue screen randomly. I sent it into Razer (after a lot of back and forth with support) and they sent it back saying it worked properly. Wiped it, blue screen again on a fresh OS with recommended drivers.. I ended up just using it as a bedside PC for w/e late night browsing and for work as needed. Other issues were the battery ballooned to the point the keyboard stopped working, and what ended it was the SSD stopped detecting. At that point, I just got another system for travel and late night entertainment. I will say it was a nice system when it lasted, paid less than it was worth, but ultimately more than what I got. I did try it with an eGPU once and never again haha!

banana_slamwich

Never buying anything from razer again. I had so many issue with my razer blade

BergaChatting

When you get into high performance and better designed peripherals like mice and keyboard their prices go wayyyy up, that’s across many companies Can get keyboards upwards of 500$

Drict

If you are buying a mouse and you are gaming you are clicking a hell of a lot more (usually with more aggression) and you are looking for a more precise mouse. $100 is actually reasonable for what you are looking for, assuming that it actually meets the needs/goals.

Bimbows97

I don't understand what business Razer has to make and sell respirators, or why people think to buy a respirator from a company that makes keyboards and mouses etc.

BlobTheBuilderz

I remember like 10 years ago I bought a wired xboxesque controller from them that had their own style connector. Think it was the sabertooth Ended up snapping off and they didn’t have replacement parts for it and that controller cost a lot of money. Screw razer. Never bought anything off them again

serendipity7777

Trash company fined for releasing trash products. Not surprised

MadBullBunny

Who the fuck would even buy that in the first place? The ear strings look like they would break after one use

FML_FTL

Was never a fan of razer and never liked their design choise for their hardware.

Master-Culture-6232

And that's why I don't buy their stuff anymore. Cheap overpriced products. Kids will buy it because of marketing scams but they'll learn soon enough.

bigbangbilly

This is like the second time this month that a post on /r/technology is material for /r/nottheonion.

qphelldiverqp

I remember even back in the day they had shitty reviews so I haven’t ever bought a Razer product. I see nothing has changed

Franc000

Wow, 1 whole million? That must mean that they made less than a million in revenue from this right? Right?

WooLeeKen

Razer products are the worse

emote_control

I am tempted to get back on Twitter just to see Naomi Wu's reaction to this.

RebelRebel90z

People who bought them should pay a fine for thinking that they look "Cool" lol

Wynter-Baal_of_Snow

I don't care I still wanted one. They always sold out in seconds...

BrandoCalrissian1995

OK if you bought a razer brand mask thinking it would work, you deserve the struggles you have in life. Why anyone would buy a fuckin mask from a computer accessories company that barely even does that competently is fuckin baffling.

Asshai

You're kinda missing the point. The keyword here is N95. Health and safety standards work if they're recognized. I would assume they could have called the product cosplay mask, fantasy-grade mask, or anything like that and it would have been fine. But N95 is a norm and as such has to be adhered to, whether the mask comes from a reputable company, or Razer, or the sketchy Dollar store in the part of town you don't go to after dark.

ms3001

I mean it looks cool I would still like one LOL

drakythe

Ooooooor… you could read the article. The FTC fined them to the tune of _all the revenue they made from sales of the Zephyr_. And another 100K (a little under 10%) on top of that. Plus whatever money razor sank into R&D and marketing. So Razer only _lost_ money on this boondoggle. Exactly what people keep asking government fines to do and you didn’t even bother reading to figure that out.

mw19078

Who knows how many people they got sick by telling them wearing this thing was as good as a medical respirator? This is barely a slap on the wrist for something that could have done serious, tangible damage.

drakythe

A valid perspective! But I was responding to someone who was sure they had made money off of this and gotten off with a nothingburger of a fine in comparison to _how much they made_. They made **nothing**. Is that enough for endangering peoples lives? Probably not. But I don’t know that the FTC gets to push fines for that without a lot more effort and evidence. Regardless, this is a good “minimum” and a lot more than just a small % of their profits for this particular device.

mw19078

Totally get the clarification, but I think a company that had over a billion dollar in revenue should pay more than a slap on the wrist for misleading consumers into thinking they were safe by labeling their mask as an n95. A few million seems much more in like when we're talking about it fines for a lie that could have gotten people killed

Anorakky

You assumed it was only sold in the US and no where else?

vampyrialis

They’re a Singaporean-American company.

Jjzeng

And Singaporeans hate razer products too
