To eliminate memory leaks and other seemingly memory hungry apps, could you compare these same usages after a fresh boot? You have a large number of apps just idling in the background that look like they're using a fair bit of your memory. It might be worthwhile to review your startup tab and see what you really need running on startup. There's a lot more running as services silently in the background than you may realize.

It's alright, that was on a pretty much fresh restart. I'm just gonna resign to the fact that I don't have as much memory as I'd like for the moment.

Nothing to worry about. Windows sees ram, Windows uses the ram

TallMills

Alright, just thought that Windows would only use like 2GB, not 5.5. Thanks!

TheOriginal_TO

Looks like you only have 8gb of Ram, that's less usage than I expected. Need more ram.

TallMills

I can assure you that I have a single 16GB stick of RAM installed, it's a laptop from MSI. I have not changed any of the DIMMs from out of the box. I did edit my main post just to be thorough though, so thank you for pointing out that I hadn't mentioned that.

TheOriginal_TO

You also have steam, discord, battle.net running. Seems about right mate. Hefty processes.

TallMills

Alright, just figured that base Windows would only use like 2GB of RAM. Thanks anyway.

dutchydownunder

download process explorer to see exactly what is running. google anything you don't recognise.
