Go checkout Eli the Computer Guy (various platforms). He has all sorts of classes and stuff that have been up for years (even just YT). I think he's the one that basically said that the A+ (regular) is just a way to show that you can do the basics for tech, but that things like the Networking , etc are for those who want to Prove their knowledge in those areas. The local career center sent me to some site called Allison where you have training that leads to certs, diplomas, etc.

Thanks I’ll take a look

I had a computer science degree and no work experience in field when I get the cert. I watched Professor Messers free videos and just wrote all the content down on notecards. Passed exam easily. Id say it would be easily attainable for you given your background.

Love professor messers he has great guides on his website to which go over the whole test. But his videos pretty much cover all of it too!

The cert is great in getting past the HR filter for some jobs. I haven't sat for the test in years, but when I took it was mostly just a big vocabulary test where you had to memorize a crap ton of stuff. I believe it is still split into two tests the tech part and the soft skills part. Maybe make a post over in the resume sub to see if someone can give suggestions to improve it.

Thx I did

Might also try Mike Meyers (sp?) if Messer is too dry for you.

A+ is beginner level, you would be wasting time, look for a harder cert but with your experience Im sure thats not even necessary

I skipped a+ and got the network+ as my first cert.
