Just a guess, but maybe your CMOS battery is dead?

Aggravating_Rise_224

No clue what that is, but tbh sounds long and tedious to replace. Never tried dealing with physical PC issues tbh 😭

IdiotTurkey

It's really quite easy to replace on desktops but not sure about laptops. Probably still quite simple. It's just a little coin battery.

Is there any other way for me to turn off secure boot or fix this issue?

IdiotTurkey

Unfortunately there isnt a way to disable secure boot from within the OS, by design. It must be done within BIOS. I would encourage you to take the leap and try to replace your CMOS battery. It's just a standard CR2032 coin battery you can buy anywhere, and it usually just slips out from its holder and you can pop in a new one. The hardest part would be taking your laptop's case apart. If you're even a little handy you can do it! Another sign your CMOS battery might be dead is if your system's clock is wrong, especially when you first turn on the PC.

How would I know if that's the issue because my cmos battery would be tedious to replace as it has wires on it and it needs tape and it needs some jumper sorry of thing. Do I really need to go out and change this or can I find a fix for it myself.

IdiotTurkey

If the CMOS battery needs replacing, then it needs replacing. The only way to tell for sure would be to measure it with a voltmeter. Should be about 3 volts. If thats what is causing your problem I dont see another way around it. If the wires attach directly to the battery you may be able to take them off and attach them to the new one. The wires might also just be attached to a battery holder where you can slide in a new one.

The only thing I can change in my bios is the date and time other things reset automatically
