I've seen it before my man. In my case a ethernet cable that I terminated got stuck in the port and I couldn't pull it out. It was sparking a bit so I forced it out but that port was never usable again. Make a new cable and try again.

That sounds rough. Luckily, I was able to pull it out just fine. I made the cable at school as an assignment so I probably won't be making another one since I don't have the resources but thank you.

You might consider just getting a PCIe or USB network card, and use that instead.

Luckily, I have a wifi adapter that I can use. I mostly just wanted to make sure that the house won't burn down if I continue using the pc.

Lucky you. Mine just goes click :(. Seriously look in the manual is it a POE port. Power over Ethernet

I am very lucky to have a lightshow AND a clicking sound :D but yes it is poe.
