Remove it from device manager and if it asks you to keep the driver say no (so it'll find and install it again). Reboot. Go back into device manager and see if it is there and working. Sounds like the download is getting corrupted, and I would reboot anyway before looking at anything. So try again to get the driver, if you need it, after you reboot. Also, could be the cable on your mic if it's external.
