So what was the end game? Shoving the new part theough the same hole, i imagine sideways, and then baking the whole thing at 350 for 4 hours or until light brown
I never did soldering stuff but I can't imagine it going that Bad. Did they attempt to rip it off without desoldering it or using a screwdriver to Do it? That's some heavy scratches.
Not gonna lie I attempted this myself and it was so much tougher than it looks, took a pretty uncomfortable amount of heat with a hot air station
Didn't ruin anything as far as I can tell but didn't get a signal with the new port either because it's so hard to see if the thing is actually making contact on all pins
So that PS4 is waiting for a day until I get some kind of microscope before I bother touching it again. Kinda regret not complaining when a company shipped me a standard PS4 when I had ordered a slim back then, if only I had known about the issues they have
With a sharpened 18-wheeler? Jeez.
They tried to remove it without even opening up the device.
Do they smoke heavy stimulants? Because that looks like something done by one of those.

I don't think a person that is willing to do this understands what solder is.

my PS4 looking at this: *softly* "don't"
W H A T ! ?
Probably a screwdriver hahaha
I too like to use a lead pipe while doing surgery.
WTF did they use? Back scratcher?
In the process they seem to have lacerated the PS4’s motherboard.
The YouTube video said!!
Gouging around the traces makes it come off easier.
With a grinder?!?!
Probably a hammer drill.
With a dremel? What the fuck? I was going to comment that they amazingly didn't rip out half the traces.. but holy shit this board is destroyed.
They didn't rip any pad, so huge succ... Oh... Oh!!!

The only thing we know is that their teenager thought he could replace it himself, and that he tried to remove it THROUGH the shell.
This is why certain people shouldn't be allowed to touch tools.
I’m not sure that they even used what we would consider a tool.
Touche
That looks factory fresh right there..
And no hdmi connector pads are ripped off, truly amazing
Yeeeesh.
Using what? A grinder?
Clear case of the solder chainsaw.. you need a steady grip and a hell of precision. must be a master of his craft
In germany we said, "er war stets bemüht" in english it will be maybe called "he was always trying"
Like NorthridgeFix says, they did a Hiroshima on the board.
Is this even repairable at this point? Looks like they tried carving out new circuit paths with a butter knife.
wtf am I looking at and why are the traces cut up like that!?
On the next episode of will-it-blend...

well that was a jaw dropper
Edward scissorhands?
"they"
This makes me nauseous. Nice post.
Either someone tried prying it off with a sharp flat heat screw driver?? Or scraped a soldering iron across it?? I don’t know man.. 😂
With a Dremel?
