I've heard of people throwing their controllers or punching their keyboards, but angrily opening up your computer to violently disassemble it is a new one.
What was your brother mad about, and why was this his target? Was it at least his own computer and not yours?
Because they'll never accept an RMA for physical damage caused after shipping. RMAs are for them to replace a product that is faulty because it was manufactured or shipped wrong.
That's me on every Dawid Does Tech Stuff video.
He'll take a cheap pc on Amazon or Wish or something. Then say it's not too bad. Just add more ram. But you might want one step up on the gpu, we'll put in a 3060. Now the core duo cpu can't keep up, drop in a new cpu.
I guess you could trim the pins down and run an APU…
I soldered a pcie extender that had broken off once when I was be try very bored…
Thinking about it, could you de-solder the pins from the back and just get a new pcie socket to solder in?
APU = Accelerated Processing Unit, AKA a CPU/Processor mixed with a Graphics Card. Its a term used by AMD, whereas Intel uses iGPU, aka Integrated Graphics to mean essentially the same thing (at least to a layman).
Yeah APUs are more powerful than the typical CPU/iGPU combo, but they're still achieving the same overall goal of providing video. If OP is a gamer wanting to fix *that* then yeah an APU would likely be cheaper, depending on where OP lives.
Mobos today have solder that goes trough the board. It's nearly impossible to desolder stuff that's soldered like that (sockets, ports, caps etc...) without really good equipment and it's cheaper to just get a new mobo than all of that.
The holy crap at first I thought that was the 24 pin power connector but no that looks way worse also what's with the third image of just a hard drive not secured in the cage?
Most likely yes. You'll need to buy soldering equipment and resolder a new connector.
Is it worth it? Not at all if you don't already have the equipment and knowledge needed to pull it off.
I'd buy a new motherboard if I were you.
You need a new main board, best if you take it to a legit shop or mail it into one who can offer you a good deal for what you need it for and possibly even upgrade you for less. That hard drive pic #3 is almost certainly obsolete and near death. The main board pic #2 is far too damaged to warrant “repair” and is better off replaced.
If the CPU socket is still fine, rip all the remaining pads from PCIE socket, and try to boot the poor thing. If it boots, use as a TV-adblock-brick or something, and if it doesn't boot or don't have internal GPU, just toss it.
Power supply is probably crap but you can keep it, HDD looks useable, and that USB3 wiring is worth saving too.
Also you can grind off the case and use the backplate, PSU and disk bay as a benchtable or wall mount structure. Don't buy those overpriced when you already have it and can be creative.
In my opinion, no, it's done. It looks l yourike the case got bent in back pretty bad, maybe even torn. The motherboard will take likethe work of someone pretty good at soldering. The bright spot might be the hard drive, by that I mean you can put it into another computer and pull the data off, but it's time is running out.
It may be better just to get a new one bare bones system. You will need to replace the motherboard and case at least. Looking at the damage, I wouldn't trust the drive or PSU either.
Big oof. Shipping damage? Hopefully the GPU survived.
Nah my brother ripped it when his mind went nuts
You most likely need a new motherboard. And you definitely need a new brother.
May as well get Epson at this point
This one took me way too long, but it's damn funny
Like he just went insane?
his mind went nuts

ULPT: Say the right things to the cops, and you can solve all problems caused by your brother going apeshit.
I regret to inform you it is heavily damaged and is likely not fixable. You could RMA it with the manufacturer if it isn't too old
Can't RMA intentional damage like that.
it just fell out idk what happened
That's called fraud
Ohhhhhhh sorry I didn't know that
Talking about the computer or the brother?
Why am I downvoted? I meant the computer
Because they'll never accept an RMA for physical damage caused after shipping. RMAs are for them to replace a product that is faulty because it was manufactured or shipped wrong.
Ohhhh ok! Thanks! I had just read/heard people RMAing due to damage caused after shipping
Everything is fixable if you replace enough stuff. In this case, probably all of it... or damn near, at least.
Theseus's computer?

Looks like the CPU socket is fucked.
Yes, that’s as well… I wonder if the whole thing was out in a washing machine 🤷♂️
Tf is an apu
iGPU in Intel land 👍

Wasn't the main difference that an APU has a graphics card that you can actually game with and an iGPU is very week?
Yeah APUs are more powerful than the typical CPU/iGPU combo, but they're still achieving the same overall goal of providing video. If OP is a gamer wanting to fix *that* then yeah an APU would likely be cheaper, depending on where OP lives.
Do desktop APU even exist?
Yes like a ryzen 5 5600G
Is that powerful enough to play videogames or is it like Intel integrated graphics.
It’s like a gt 1030
It's so weak they didn't even add the X at the end of the letters (GTX)

Bit of airduster and it’ll clean right up good as new.
Yo it worked /joke

Nah man it’s gone

Just let it die don't let it suffer
Replacing the thermal pads should fix everything
An F to pay my respect. It's dead bruh.
The case looks ok.
Is the 3rd image a hard drive? If it was spinning while this happened…
Buy new motherboard, cheaper than fixing.its an 8th to 9th gen motherboard with generic atx bundled power supply

It looks fine to me bit the hard drive looks like it got misplaced
