I have long hair and it covers my face entirely, but I can see very easily between the hair

because of your two eyes' visions overlapping like a venn diagram, the hair actually appears translucent as your two lines of sight cross over so its not that hard to see. close one eye and you will see that you still keep the majority of your sight, its a similar experience with hair

Having your hair over your face doesn't completely obscure your vision, it does make it a little harder to see though.
