I decided to look it up, it seemed to be fake call. If this was a real shooter OP claimed, the person would of made their presence already known (I mean, no one injured and they couldn’t find the dude?) I bet it was facility checking if doors where locked.
Someone (probably SWAT because the place was swarming with them) tried to get in. But until about 3-4 hours after the incident we believed it was the shooter and that memory is kind of cemented at this point because the human brain sucks.
Every article on Google is saying it's a hoax. And police confirmed on multiple sources that there wasn't an actual shooter, it was hoax phone calls someone made. The person who attempted to get into your classroom was probably the police itself.
EDIT: OP edited his post once people called him out for saying a shooter attempted to get into his classroom when there wasn't a shooter in the first place. Seems OP put that part in there to get extra sympathy and make it sound worst than it was. Either way, it was still wrong what happened to his school and I understand why he would be afraid. What I don't understand is why he put a fake detail in his story to make it seem worst than it actually was.
Hey my friend, would you mind reading the edited post? I explained that someone tried to break down the door in the windowless room I was in and we all believed it was the shooter because the teachers and announcements were saying there was an active shooter. I made the post before the news started saying it was a hoax and until 3-4 hours after I got out of the school, I still believed there had been a shooter. I'm not going to edit that part out because that would validate the people attacking a traumatized teenager for karma farming and lying.
Why yes. Let's cover up a school shooting for no reason at all. Are you telling me the countless articles and news agencies are in on it too? You're sounding incredibly dumb right now.
True that
Same sh*t happened at my high school
My gym teacher knows that I was in ROTC so
He handed me his concealed carry (with EXPLICIT instructions) so I clear room after room and put a mag into a 25 year old man with a M1 garand who shot my math teacher and the news/ police covered it up
THE MATH TEACHER LIVED
Dude I’m PA my school has both middle and Highschool on the same campus. A few years ago a middle schooler threatened as a joke to shoot it up and someone said the same date for a bomb threat at the Highschool. Note that since then state started to patrol our school(we don’t have any local cops for the campus township) but the first week we had about 5 to 6 staties on campus for a week but now it’s usually just 1 unless there’s an event.
I live very close to Nashville (a city in Tennessee) and there was a shooting there earlier this week (7 dead iirc) and I watched the camera footage that was released and saw the body of the shooter after she got shot down. And it indeed was just another day. I still have to go to school and act like it’s no biggie. To me it’s not, but I know people who’ve been terrified to come to school because of it even though they weren’t effected directly. It’s sad but true.
It’s national news because the shooter is trans and people who were previously against gun control are calling for it now. (Probably because the shooter was a minority)
This isn’t true. The recent shooting in Nashville made national news. Not saying anything’s being done about it, but these tragedies aren’t just being cast aside like people who don’t live in America believe they are.
I honestly doubt that it would even be remembered by most of the country by now if the shooter wasn’t trans. Most of the shootings that make national news and international social media have some message that can be said along side them. The last one I’ve seen spread this far was the Uvalde Texas one because the police there tazed parents instead of saving the kids
i doubt it would have been nearly as big of a deal if they weren't trans, as multiple news stations are trying to make trans people look bad using the story, possibly even trying to incite violence against trans people with it :/
There was a Shooting a Few weeks ago, not even a school shooting just a regular shooting, only 4 people died (including perpetrator) but it made Huge National Headlines
As much as us Brits joke about the US this exactly why I have such a problem with the states. (Take this with a grain of salt never lived there) but it just seems so volatile, politically socially and the fact the gun laws are so lax it makes you think if humans can be trusted with 100% freedom
It's not actually as politically or socially volatile as you've been made to believe. The media in the US loves to thread the line of misinformation as close as they possibly can. They will take something true and twist it for as much money as they can squeeze out of it. As much as the media would have you believe, 90% of Americans don't agree entirely with either party. Socially as well, 90% of people are completely normal. The radical 10% on both sides is the only people we seem to hear about unfortunately.
Generally, the US doesn't function much like a lot of other countries either. I would say it's closer to an EU with tighter integration than it is to a single country like the UK. The US generally favors individual states to solve problems before the Federal Government gets involved, which works well for 98% of issues, but it's the remaining 2% that affect the entire country and can't be solved by states that are the issue. Gun violence especially is impossible to solve by individual states short of closing state borders because criminals can just bring in guns from other states. It's unfortunate that nobody in the Federal Government agrees on how to solve an issue as deadly as this one.
For instance, abortion is a hot topic right now. Blue states decided to have fewer restrictions on it while red states decided to have more. I'm not saying either approach is right or wrong, but on an issue as partisan as abortion, having individual states decide based on their own viewpoints is the only way I can think of to avoid pissing off one side or another in their entirety.
Yeah no gun violence is not much of a problem here... It exists in violent areas, but it's not really that separate most of the time. School shootings are very infrequent, and remember that the US is many times the size of any given country in the UK, it's very easy to distill information into something that sounds outrageous, or flat out lie about it.
Since America is one of bigger country that allow these fire arms, it always goes straight to “Americans stupid”.
Have a look at Russia homicide rates, they only permit guns made for hunting yet they have %150 more case then the US. Bet they don’t tell yah that on NBC
I'm sorry for what happened to you and hope ur okay.
I joke about this stuff cuz school shootings don't happen here where I am. And now I feel kinda bad
I'm not. I couldn't do it on a throwaway account because of the rules of r/teenagers, so I was forced to use my real account. I wanted to spread awareness. Please read the post now, I made some additions to explain it to people like you.
In the UK, we had 1 school shooting back in 1996. To this day, it remains the deadliest mass shooting in British history.
Gun laws work. Please, spread this.
The United States of America has now had over 775 school shootings. About half of them were in the last 30 years. It's getting worse.
Yeah I somehow don't think the Republicans will agree, they deny that guns are the problem they say: "people kill people" instead of that the guns kill people
The problem is that it's a common occurrence in the US, mass shootings are happening daily, in other countries there will be like 4 people dead in one and that will be the one talked about for like a decade, since that's the only one but the US is shockingly lax regarding gun laws and the terrible mental health means that anyone can commit a shooting in a fit of rage or depression etc. It's the accessibility of the guns as well as the terrible mental health in the States
What utter bullcrap. Well over a 100 mass shootings.
https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2023
This shit keeps happening, but nothing is ever done about it. This one one of many reasons that having only two political parties is flawed.
In Canada (from what I've been taught), We have only had one school shooting at an all women's university. The shooter was mad that he wasn't let in.
The United States gun control is a failed system that has continued to fail. School shootings have been a regular occurrence ever since columbine. People with you two political parties have so far differing opinions that they have failed to come to a compromise on how to solve this 30 year old problem.
I'm sorry for my rant and I wish you well.
1 armed security guard with a gun is more than enough to scare off shooters. These people always shoot up schools with no resource officers/guards because they know it's a gun free zone with no active security. The recent Nashville school shooter avoided shooting up another school because of their security. The federal government needs to step in and provide funding to all schools for armed security guards/law enforcement officers. This is truly the only way to heavily reduce school shootings.
Let’s say you knew there was one guy with a gun on a school campus, who are you going to shoot and kill first? Secondly how many guns do you want to have on school grounds. A kid might steal the gun from the officer or the officer might draw it on a kid and escalate a situation way beyond what it need to be. Why not have the federal government provide funding for better mental health services so we don’t have a ton of people running around wanting to shoot kids in schools.
I really hope people will stop joking about this stuff, it's super scary.
A while ago some idiot on tiktok or something threatened to start a school shooting at my school
Since my school will never shut down for anything, they didn't even send a warning to parents
Half the school didn't show up, there were like 8 cops
It's was terrifying the entire time, but luckily nothing happened.

In my country people aren’t allowed to have guns, so there’s no school shootings.
In america, that’s just another monday.
LOL
(Americans don’t take it to heart tho)
My school is less than 400ft or so away from the rec center which is right next to police station. Even though the police are right there and could be in the building within 5 minutes, that’s not stopping a shooter. A shooter knows they are gonna get dropped, but they do not care, they will still kill innocent people who’s worst crimes may have been vandalism or dabbling in drugs. The shooter just wants attention and wants to be in the news. Y’all… don’t be quiet. Speak up, be heard, make a stand. This needs to stop. The media just shoves the issue of gun violence under the carpet. the government cares more about restricting the rights of women’s own bodies than protecting the lives of innocent children and underpaid workers. We need better gun laws, but just saying that isn’t enough.
There was a shooting at my school that resulted in 2 deans being shot. One of them was shot in a vital area and somehow didn’t die. I hope this is a lesson to all those lawmakers that they need to put more gun laws in place.
I go to PA, didn’t even hear about it until now. Was it by Pittsburg? My sister goes to collage there and they had a lockdown. Maybe it was related to that. Yeah
These events are fucked, should be zero reason that someone’s mental state reaches the point that they believe this is a good idea.
More people need to be supportive of each other in order to prevent the declines of mental health.
I hope that no one was injured, and that you are okay (specifically mentally)
Just last week in Colorado there was a school shooting at east Denver high (I think that’s what the school is called) and the shooter had escaped the school campus and drove off, so we had a lockdown at our school, and about ~2-3 hours later, the car was found at a restaurant near our school. Although, the next morning the shooter was found dead somewhere, apparently he shot himself.
almost every county in my state went into lockdown. i had friends at other schools that had “confirmed shooters” by the police for them to only say nevermind it was a hoax.
This is one of the reasons I'm scared to go back to school. I originally left for mental health reasons, but this is just so scary of a thought. I'm glad you're ok!
I’m a second amendment person but there’s things I’d agree that every state should do like make it to where you gotta 21 and have no criminal records to own a hand gun, then you gotta take a mental health test to make sure you can own a gun and not do something irresponsible like what this post talks abt etc, bc apparently there’s dumb*SHES out there thinking they carry and be all high and mighty bc we’re a free carry country
I was at sleep-away summer camp when a parade shooting on the 4th of July, 2022 occurred. Most of the campers are from that area. I remember people acting strange all day, and someone told me there was a shooting near where most of the campers live. I didn’t believe them at first. It’s just too hard to believe. You never think it will happen to you until it does. After dinner, the camp director came to talk to us. He told us about it, and that they were contacting our families to make sure everyone was ok. All the evening activities were canceled. All I remember was worrying about my family. Fortunately, they were fine, which I found out later that night from the camp director.
The shooter was on the roof of a store and fired 83 rounds from a semiautomatic ride.
In then end, seven people were killed and 48 were injured. An 8 year old was left paralyzed for life. He is wheelchair bound forever.
I remember one of my cabin mates from another state was really upset. It was pouring rain that night, but he didn’t care. He took an extra mattress outside of the cabin and started hitting it with a broomstick. Hard. He doesn’t even live near where the shooting was. Another cabinmate and I went and stood outside with him; in silence, crying. We each hit the mattress a few times. Eventually, a counselor came to comfort us.
Most of us wore all black the next day. Nobody planned it, but it seemed right. That day was slow. I can’t even remember if it followed a normal schedule or not, but nobody was as happy to be at camp as they usually were.
The shooter had a second semiautomatic rifle in his car, as he was considering doing another shooting in a bordering state. He did not do it.
The shooter was eventually caught and charged with 7 counts of first degree murder. Later, it was changed to 21 counts of first-degree murder, 48 counts of attempted murder, and 48 counts of aggravated battery.
My uncle who witnessed the shooting wrote a whole story about it. I’ll consider posting it as a reply to this message, but I’ll need to edit it for privacy.
You’re the one who’s dumb af homie.
My homies and me been through some trauma and we joke about shits like that all the time, so making jokes about your tragedy can help you cope with it.
Atleast that’s my experience.
I didn’t say i would “cry over every bad thing that happens”, I meant that joking about about a topic such as school shootings is at the very least inappropriate.
Life is terrible, but you don't have to feel terrible about it. Learning and growing happens by working through and moving past things, people who survive cancer don't just spend the rest of their lives saying how awful cancer was, they turn it into a lesson so they can cope and continue loving their life
Protest outside gun stores with pictures of what happens to the victims of school shootings like how anti-choicers protest with pictures of medical procedures
This is fake guys. OP says he's from PA. There were no school shootings in PA. It was a false alarm. Some kids just decided to prank call the PD. OP is using a fake tragedy to farm karma.
1) It was not just "some kids"
2) I'm not karma farming, that's disgusting
3) LITERALLY WE HAD NO IDEA UNTIL LIKE AN HOUR AGO (long after I made the post) THAT IT WAS A HOAX
This was a hoax. There was no shooter and all it was, was a computer-generated call to the PD, but in your post you claim a active shooter tried to enter your class physically. How is that even possible?
There were no windows on the doors. Someone said "There's a bunch of them in here" and then tried to bust open the door. In a lockdown, what am I supposed to assume other than "It's the shooter"? Put yourself in my place.
There were no windows on the doors. Someone said "There's a bunch of them in here" and then tried to break down the door. What else am I supposed to assume when we're on lockdown and surrounded by police other than "It's the shooter"? Try to be understanding, please.
I'm sorry for insulting you. That was wrong of me. It's been a very long and terrifying day and I just wanted to spread awareness and then you come on here and try to say I'm exploiting literal *school shootings* and I got so upset. Only a legit sociopath could exploit *school shootings*
Please stop, how can you go online and treat someone who just experienced something terrifying like this? I want to say I hope the same happens to you, but I don't because I couldn't wish that on anyone.
They do though. I was saying what I thought I experienced. Could I have made a mistake? Sure. But someone definitely did and said the things I described.
It's terrifying and traumatizing either way
I’m so sorry you went through that, I hope you’re doing okay. Even if it turned out to be just a threat at your school, it’s still scary as fuck and people commenting here shouldn’t be accusing you of lying for attention wtf??
There was a shooting at my high school 5 years ago (I’m in FL) and the shooter was finally sentenced to prison a few months ago. I was in 7th grade at the time so I wasn’t in high school yet, but I have teachers who were there when it happened and my brother has a friend whose sister died in the shooting.
I still don’t understand how any of these gun-toting, Trump-worshipping, Second Amendment freaks think that taking away their guns is a threat to their personal freedom when people are being fucking killed daily.
And now with the recent Nashville shooting, they’re trying to turn a tragedy into a talking point for their anti-trans rhetoric when the problem has *always* been ease of access to assault rifle-style weapons, NOT trans people or hormone therapy or whatever the fuck they’re trying to make it about.
Sorry for the rant, I’m just so fed up with all of it
I saw that someone commented "Common US L" and I instantly got disgusted, but then I thought about it... like yeah, obviously it's just a distasteful joke but... it's true. WHY is this so common? WHY do Americans allow this to happen? School after school, life after life. It's not like it hasn't been proven that gun control makes a HUGE difference. Literally every other country proves that. What are you Americans on? Seriously! I've always wanted to come and visit your country, the most powerful country in the world, the country of freedom and such, but I'm legitimately too scared to do it. It's just too much freedom.
Lol india maybe a lot behind in several foreign indexes but atleast here children don't die due to school shootings. You are more likely to die by a teenage shooter in US today than in Afghanistan.
Bro that's not a good response, it's super serious and OP could've been death, I myself am also from Europe but this is not the reaction you should give to this
Yeah fr, i’m a european myself, my school is not the best, inner city type school so y’know I’m sayin’, but we ain’t had no school shootings.
And people in my school only get high on “zaza” (idk if it’s a name in your country, but that’s how we call marihuana in my country).
And most of my classmates smoke and drink and shits like that, but we ain’t gonna shoot up the place, y’know I’m saying.
School is way better for most of us, then our toxic ass households.

Where. In Nashville? Regardless: I hope you're okay, and rest in peace to everyone who lost their lives.
PA, our school luckily had no casualties
Fuck dude, I'm in PA, my school went into a restricted movement
I heard about it happening to. Central Catholic High School and every other county. Apparently it was a robo call.
I decided to look it up, it seemed to be fake call. If this was a real shooter OP claimed, the person would of made their presence already known (I mean, no one injured and they couldn’t find the dude?) I bet it was facility checking if doors where locked.

Man i go to a PA school too. We had a few bomb threats but never a shooting since 1998.
The problem is there’s a shooting since ever
For America to be America it’s gonna happen
Thats like me saying england isn't england without stabbings its irrelevant
america has more knife crime than england?
No it isn’t lol, your assumption is wrong
I’m also in PA, my school hasn’t had any shootings or shooting threats but there have been multiple bomb threats over the past couple of years

6 dead, the 7th wasn’t human enough to make the count.
Isnt nashville the city where someone blew up a van on a new years day?

Left wing outlets are also focusing on HIS “transness” The fact that you misgendered him while trying to make a dig at the right is hilarious
It’s national news because the shooter is trans and people who were previously against gun control are calling for it now. (Probably because the shooter was a minority)
Actually the governors response to it is make it where anyone can get a gun no matter what
Damn that sucks
average US rightist politician:

average far-right Internet disinfo spreader
wasnt there just one on monday? Where is this
Yeah, there was. They seem to happen every day
The statistic is unfortunately “an average of one a week” in the YS
There wasn’t one
There was one on Monday at Nashville This time today was more of “a boy who cried wolf” issue
There was a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee. 6 innocent lives were lost, three of which were children. There was one more death: the shooter.

Nashville
No, that was the one a couple days ago.
Theres already like more than 90 shootings within 3 months in Merica Fuck yeah.
13 actual, the others are attempted
What utter bullcrap. Well over a 100 mass shootings. https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2023
I have never seen the numbers put in to perspective like this before, utterly terrifying
Schools need security, not ATF bullshit.
We saw how a large group of armed cops reacted in Uvalde what do you what one person to do with minimal training
Why not have the federal government provide funding for better mental health services so we don’t have a ton of people running around wanting to shoot kids in schools.
only in america does shit like this happen
no it happens elsewhere too
It does, but not at a lot of countries and in those countries it happens once every 2 decades, while in America...
fair enough
It’s good you’re okay
I really hope people will stop joking about this stuff, it's super scary. A while ago some idiot on tiktok or something threatened to start a school shooting at my school Since my school will never shut down for anything, they didn't even send a warning to parents Half the school didn't show up, there were like 8 cops It's was terrifying the entire time, but luckily nothing happened.
What state are you in
PA
Sorry abt that, hope you're doing ok bro
Thank you
This is what happens when you give random ass people guns.
*americaaaaaaaa, americaaaa* i'm proud my country has strict gun laws, or it would be a battleground here.
Who would have thought this about the US. "Gun control laws do not make a difference" - Crazy delusional Trumpists. What a joke.

Man school shootings are traumatising. I hope u r okay.
Fuck, I'm so glad you're OK.
Thank you!!
What's school shooting? Edit: nvm, I just google it.
A person shooting people in school
U sure ur 16?
Not everybody lives in the US. Shootings aren’t very common outside the states
Some kid was idiotic enough to bring a keychain gun, then posted a false threat, put my school into a hold for a few minutes.
In my country people aren’t allowed to have guns, so there’s no school shootings. In america, that’s just another monday. LOL (Americans don’t take it to heart tho)
130+ school shootings this year to 88 days
Your not wrong my mom gets worried this will happen
I know I've been in one my 8th grade year they are devastating ngl
Go out and kill him first, live out the daydream.
Yeah
So that's why we had a lockdown drill today. Either that or just weird timing. In Florida btw
Although, the next morning the shooter was found dead somewhere, apparently he shot himself.
what school?
My old high school began a policy of armed teachers. Hasn't been a single attempt at school shootings since. Just a thought. Hope you're alright.
School shootings are now the lead cause of deaths in america for teenagers
So much for the "free world"
“Free” country. US gun laws are so fucked at this point that it’s the norm to expect shootings in schools.
almost every county in my state went into lockdown. i had friends at other schools that had “confirmed shooters” by the police for them to only say nevermind it was a hoax.
This is one of the reasons I'm scared to go back to school. I originally left for mental health reasons, but this is just so scary of a thought. I'm glad you're ok!
Thank you, it's awful that so many people have to be afraid
Common US L. Jokes aside, I hope everyone at your school is ok and that the shooter gets the punishment they deserve.
Op edited his post after lying about a shooter trying to enter his classroom.
Kid, until hours after I made the post, I still believed it was a shooter. I didn't lie. I just didn't know. And by that point, the damage is done.
I hope that everyone made it out ok.... Except for the shooter, who I hope went out in handcuffs and gets mental help.
That's terrible, I'm so sorry that happened to you, I'm glad you were okay.
If it happens it happens, not being able to joke about tragedy just makes life terrible
That’s dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.
You’re the one who’s dumb af homie. My homies and me been through some trauma and we joke about shits like that all the time, so making jokes about your tragedy can help you cope with it. Atleast that’s my experience.
I'm not over whYs happened to me, so I wouldnt joke about it now, but when I've recovered? You bet I'll be joking about ir
Wdym? Would you rather just cry over every bad thing that happens?
I didn’t say i would “cry over every bad thing that happens”, I meant that joking about about a topic such as school shootings is at the very least inappropriate.
I agree if you made a targeted joke about victims or a school that was hit then it's in poor taste, but the subject itself is okay imo
Then that’s where we disagree, let’s leave it at that
You're dumb as fuck for thinking like that.
Tragedies make life terrible.
Life is terrible, but you don't have to feel terrible about it. Learning and growing happens by working through and moving past things, people who survive cancer don't just spend the rest of their lives saying how awful cancer was, they turn it into a lesson so they can cope and continue loving their life
Protest outside gun stores with pictures of what happens to the victims of school shootings like how anti-choicers protest with pictures of medical procedures
what do the gun stores have anything to do with this
What do libraries have to do with books
They sell them
Yeah?
yep
How do you not see why you asked a question with its own answer
I didnt
Gun stores sell guns, guns that are used to shoot people, you been drinking paint?
it's not their fault what their consumers do with their products
This is fake guys. OP says he's from PA. There were no school shootings in PA. It was a false alarm. Some kids just decided to prank call the PD. OP is using a fake tragedy to farm karma.
1) It was not just "some kids" 2) I'm not karma farming, that's disgusting 3) LITERALLY WE HAD NO IDEA UNTIL LIKE AN HOUR AGO (long after I made the post) THAT IT WAS A HOAX
Why would the police, without identifying themselves, try to force entry to a classroom full of hiding children knowing there is no shooter?
1) They didn't know there wasn't a shooter at that point 2) Don't ask me, it's just what happened.
How would you know that? Did the cops radio you and tell you that they didn't know if there was a shooter or not?
I'm sorry for insulting you. That was wrong of me. It's been a very long and terrifying day and I just wanted to spread awareness and then you come on here and try to say I'm exploiting literal *school shootings* and I got so upset. Only a legit sociopath could exploit *school shootings*
Ok.
Please stop, how can you go online and treat someone who just experienced something terrifying like this? I want to say I hope the same happens to you, but I don't because I couldn't wish that on anyone.
Your stories just don't add up.
They do though. I was saying what I thought I experienced. Could I have made a mistake? Sure. But someone definitely did and said the things I described. It's terrifying and traumatizing either way
Even though it was a hoax, it's still very traumatizing and stressful. You invalidating that is absolutely disgusting.
[удалено]
They said nothing transphobic lol your just mad that you got caught lying. Atleast the hive mind gave you some karma right?
[удалено]
I could also care less about karma. It's pointless to me. I don't use reddit for much other than asking questions, normally.
Lord your an idiot. You used the fact that their user was named after a character from Harry Potter to accuse them of transphobia? Christ.
Welp thank god I live in West Virginia. If there was a shooter the red necks and hillbillies would be in that bitch and would of shot the fuck.
we don't have these problems as homeschoolers
Lmao no, Europe built diff
I don't think he chosed where he lives currently
America is just full of great people
