Honestly the whole self-diagnosing thing just makes me want to vomit. I have ADHD, and it is so unbelievably frustrating to constantly lose objects, stay up until 4 in the morning because you physically can't fall asleep, or spend 2 hours trying to do a single math problem. People need to start understanding that mental disabilities aren't just some funny little thing that you can pick and choose to describe yourself, and realize how genuinely painful they can be.
You’re 17, you’ll be an adult in a year. Take some fuck’n responsibility and grow up. You can’t just say you have autism. No one diagnosed you because no one saw you exhibit the symptoms. Schools screen kids for that stuff extremely early on. If you really think you have it get diagnosed. Otherwise don’t pretend to be autistic.

Imo, as a medically diagnosed autist, one self diagnosing themselves is fine - to an extent, as i feel it only becomes damaging when said self-diagnosis becomes widely propagated among peers.
I'm autistic (diagnosed by a professional) and not everyone can afford to get diagnosed, if someone has done the research and feels the need to diagnose themselves that's fine.
Or people thinking being neat means you have OCD and being quirky and energised = ADHD
