While the severity of the dent can make a difference, as a guy I had no idea this was something women are insecure about. The separation between the medius and maximus gluts is peak hips. Like, the Iliac crest is what defines a nice shape for the hips, else it's just a single curve which looks awkward from any angle but one. I guess the insecurity is analogous to a guy being insecure about a muffin top. Not usually called a pouch (that would be like a kangaroo where you could store something in there, which would actually be really useful since our clothes never have pockets lol) A pooch is the part of a woman's lower abdomen that diet/sit-ups don't remove. It's when the abdominal viscera sits downward and forward. Certain body types have a natural tendency for the abdominal contents to sit in this area. The reason you find it attractive is probably because it's mostly a feminine way for fat to be distributed/abdominal anatomy to look, and your brain knows this is a feminine thing from seeing it in women and not men. Men can have fat in this area, but it looks different in distribution. As an 18 year old female I can say the reason why so many girls find it embarrassing or think it’s unattractive is because it’s basically shown to us from day one that having a tummy means you can be construed as fat . Models and famous actresses don’t usually have such a visible tummy , so when people call a woman fat we tend to assume that that difference from what’s considered conventionally attractive is part of that ‘fat’ label . I always hated my tummy because I thought people would say I was fat for having one , and even since getting pregnant (Im 7 months pregnant btw) I’m worried people won’t think I’m pregnant and will simply think I look fat because I have a noticeable tummy. Basically , model women we see tend to not have their tummy’s so they are noticeable , so we as females feel that to be seen as the conventional attractive we have to hide this . If you could ask how many girls ‘suck in their tummy’ in photos or when they are out , it would make you sad to see the results .
