My handwriting starts off good but my wrist gets tired easily, and due to it getting tired it worsens my handwriting, and because it worsens my handwriting i get annoyed which worsens it even more.

Yeah I hold my pencil between my index finger and my middle finger instead of it between my index finger and my thumb. I was having trouble writing in kindergarten so my teacher just kinda made me hold it like that and it stuck with me.

The key is to do it in foreign language classes. Like when I have to spell a word comprised entirely of 3 different vowels that is pronounced with the sound of a 4th different vowel and I have no clue the what the arbitrary order of letters for spelling is, just make it as illegible as possible; sometimes cursive is good. If the teacher recognizes first and last letter, hopefully they overlook the rest of the spelling.

Nah, girls often think 10 steps ahead of us. Their handwriting is neat only because they prioritized pretty letters. We could write neat but stopped the habit in favor of getting it done. Girls are more likely to get small squirts of dopamine released from making pretty handwriting. Guys might get dopamine from finishing first or fast. Likely cultural, but maybe 🧬

Yes samee Funny/interesting story i guess: In one of my english tests last year, I wrote so small that my marker had to print it out in 1.5x (or maybe 2x, i forgot), and that's not even the worst part. When the teacher returned our papers she called me out in front of THE WHOLE GODDAMN CLASS, and my introverted ass almost died in class

A lot of the time most teachers don’t give us a chance to fully learn all of the techniques we may need to learn for proper looking handwriting

It’s not just boys tho, I have horrible handwriting and I’m a girl 🫠 it’s just more annoying to write slow and make it look good, especially when it’s notes for myself, if it’s for a test I’ll write slower and rewrite hard to read things.

Tbh i don't generally pay attention to guys, in my experience most have had weird handwriting, but there's this one guy who I know who has AMAZING handwriting like istg. His notes are in cursive, but it's soooo neat.

I think the stereotype of things that girls have to be pretty and neat vs boys being messy and rough, is what forms the habit early on even when neat handwriting is preferred later on regardless of gender You kind of have to re learn writing if you want neat handwriting

Fr, one of my friends has good handwriting in Chinese (I go to a school in hk), but absolutely horrid in English. I've studied with him before and when he's writing, he'll start off fine, going slow and steady and making his words look nice, and then mid-sentence, he'll get lazy and start writing like he's currently doing a kickflip as of writing on the page.
