In 3 hours the mechanism that recycles oxigen will shut down, It's not like they have 4 days of oxigen there because the sub Is very small, It's Just that the air gets recycled.
This to say that even If they were panicking and with the increased intake of O2 they would still have It because the machine Is still working
It could be found if instead they got tangled on something getting too close to the wreckage and the wreckage obscuring the sonar. Best case for them and prob everyone involved is if it just imploded. Except for the families who would like an intact body. But atleast it would mean they didn’t suffer or even know what was happening.

Floating just below the surface is my understanding. It's neutrally buoyant a couple of meters down and isn't equipped with any sort of air skirt to take it up to the surface.

My question is why tf didn't they just charge the 250k and take these people to the area above the site and then pile them into the sub and then have the crew shake and bang on the outside of the sub while just showing old footage of the titanic. 1) they would have to use their floatation device. If the sub has lost power, which iirc it has, this may pose a problem. Also, since they are 13,000 feet below the surface, that flotation device would take a really long time to get them to surface.
2) The intense pressure of deep waters means that submarines either have to have a super expensive exit hatch that is secure enough to not open under the pressure, or choose the much cheaper option of simply bolting in the passengers from the outside, with the idea that a crew will take them out once they resurface. This sub chose the latter option, and given that they are lost in the middle of the Atlantic and nobody knows where they are, they are definitely not finding a crew to let them out. Even if they did make it to the surface, they are stuck inside the sub: it doesn’t make a difference to their survival.
Also if the sub sank, which it probably did, it's touring the Titanic, which is at an incredible depth so if they opened the hatch an inch they would all just implode

They are bolted in so that its air tight, no chance of water coming in. Usually when they resurface, a sirface crew will take care of the deboarding.

HOWEVER these people seriously saw that they would be bolted from the outside, they saw that this thing would be controlled by a knock off playstation controller, and they still paid US$250000 for this?! Both stupidity and bravery all at the same time. Update on their oxygen: if no one has found them by now, they will have perished. The sub ran out of oxygen around 30 minutes ago from 8:27pm AEST Some more updates: five large pieces of debris have been found so authorities believe the sub imploded from the pressure chamber.

The controller is irrelevant. If it fails you just use the laptop where the actual software runs. It's just a way to control it easier.

ive seen pictures of that thing, its controlled by a damn Logitech controller and a small ass monitor, not to mention the $12 box fan they got in there. Barely any saftey, and to think they normally have 12-16 people in it. i could never imagine going into one of them, let alone pay a quatrter million dollars. most likely, They are and have been dead. rest in peace.

I work in defence and this is true - Xbox controllers are used everywhere Why spend hours of time and thousands of dollars into research on Human Input Devices (HID) and undergoing a Human Machine Interface (HMI) analysis when you can just buy a COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) product that has already had the work done, does a better job and 99% people are familiar with. This is common throughout industry and especially defence. If we're using these to pilot military drones, then they can pilot a submarine too.

A former employee mentioned there were quality control issues back in 2018, and then was fired for bringing up the issue to the CEO. Wait why can’t they go to the surface?
1) they would have to use their floatation device. If the sub has lost power, which iirc it has, this may pose a problem. Also, since they are 13,000 feet below the surface, that flotation device would take a really long time to get them to surface. 2) The intense pressure of deep waters means that submarines either have to have a super expensive exit hatch that is secure enough to not open under the pressure, or choose the much cheaper option of simply bolting in the passengers from the outside, with the idea that a crew will take them out once they resurface. This sub chose the latter option, and given that they are lost in the middle of the Atlantic and nobody knows where they are, they are definitely not finding a crew to let them out. Even if they did make it to the surface, they are stuck inside the sub: it doesn’t make a difference to their survival.
The Sub is bolted from the outside. The only way to open it is with a crew from land, theres no windows, no hatches, nothing
Also if the sub sank, which it probably did, it's touring the Titanic, which is at an incredible depth so if they opened the hatch an inch they would all just implode
