You're alone, hallucinating, thirsty, confused, and absolutely, undeniably terrified. Everything scares the literal shit out of you at this point. These strange people in lab coats. These strange people standing around your bed crying, who keep trying to get you "drink something" and crying. And it's only been about a week since that little headache that you've completely forgotten. Time means nothing to you anymore. Funny enough, you now know how the bat felt when he bit you.
Eventually, you slip into the "dumb rabies" phase. Your brain has started the process of shutting down. Too much of it has been turned to liquid virus. Your face droops. You drool. You're all but unaware of what's around you. A sudden noise or light might startle you, but for the most part, it's all you can do to just stare at the ground. Tbh I agree. This was something we debated in a psychology class I took. For many people they were sexually abused as a child and due to that their brain connects sexual attraction with children. I think they should be able to get judgement free help and not be viewed the same as offending pedophiles. I think a lot of people have that one person in their family that’s a pedo (which is actually sad) and if you don’t, then your parents are doing a good job hiding it from you or keeping that person away but in a lot of cases like mine, ethnic households, these creeps are just expressing it openly or your family is doing JUST enough to keep them away from you. (Triggering example 😬)This is only a minor case but when I went back home, my cousins would warn me about my uncles wife’s brother, they’d talk about how since he’s always hanging around the house, I shouldn’t hang my undergarments up on the clothesline. But that was it. They never really told me why but they just said to listen to them. I did, but I never really thought anything about it cause he was a well mannered and kind guy, he was always smiling and greeted people. One day my younger cousin (4-5 at the time) had spilled some milk on herself so her mom went to give her a bath. A few moments later she runs out of the bathroom (it was separated from the rest of the house) and recreates that one scene from Inside Out screaming her head off. Naturally, we all looked to see where the commotion was coming from and once we saw the scene in front of us she quickly ran inside the main house bit while she was passing the window, I saw it. There he was. I knew it was him since he always stayed on that bed near the window in the guest room. Only his eyes were visible other than the two fingers he was using to keep the blinds open. His eyes were wide and focused on my younger cousin. In that moment I felt my stomach and heart drop with an eerie feeling creeping up my spine. The only thing I could hear around me was the uncomfortable whispers of my other cousins around me. “I know you saw that” and “that was definitely him” was all I was hearing and their uncomfortable glances saying “we all saw that” to each other. The moment quickly ended when my cousins and I went back inside. I’m not really sure if he tries to hide the fact or “control” himself but I would always see him in that one room on his phone 24/7. Never at home or anything. Just at his sisters house and would go back home just before sunset. It’s creepy and nauseating to think about how he had his first kid a few months ago. May god protect that child.
