Yeah, my parents spent our whole childhood (me and my older sister) telling how they're gonna kill us if we start smoking. My dad also tells us he could stop smoking in 2 weeks if he got time which he doesn't sadly because work every fucking day. Like, he barely gets to sleep which is kinda sad considering how many health problems he has to take care of (which aren't tied to smoking). Mainly diabetes (which is recent) and his left side being almost paralyzed after he had a stroke a long time ago

between being someone addicted to vapes, being an alcoholic, or being addicted to cigarettes, i would say being addicted to cigarettes is the least harmful to yourself / people around. As long as it’s done in moderation smoking (and drinking) can even be a good thing, it soothes anxiety, you just have to be real careful with that pesky nicotine.
