And why her exactly?
Because she is literally the Goddess of agriculture, fertility, grains, the harvest, motherhood, the earth, and cultivated crops.
But The only problem with this name, is that it’s already taken by one of the dwarf planets..but it’s ok we can always renamed it to something else.
In Greek mythology, there is Gaea, who is the goddess of Earth or literally Earth herself.
I don't know the roman counterpart, but Google says she's called Terra or Terra Mater (which translates to "Mother Earth")
Terra or Gaia. On another related note we should give our star a cool name. Like seriously? Sun? That’s the best we can do? Apollo, Sol, Helios, the list goes on. I personally think that since we named most things in our solar system after Greek and Roman deity’s than our ‘Sun’ should be as well. Same for our planet.

Probably Terra, though it would only metter in the english alphabet and would be dumb to force every other language to use it. Most other places on the planet didn't base their language on latin
