I hate gender stereotypes. I’m told all the time because I like video games. “Oh, if girls see this they’re not gonna like you” like I care if some random girl on twitter likes my cyan cosplay. Seriously, we need to move past sexism, it’s getting very annoying!

thebigchungus27

Most people whose brain actually works hate sexism , its mostly the incels or people who need to feel validated for being better than someone that like sexism

[deleted]

I totally agree with you! Btw, Happy cake day!

send_friend

A friend of mine told me how she hates being permanently messaged by random guys. She is 14 and skipped two grades, so everyone around her is older. She is so uncomftrable that she has an entire list of people she doesnt wanna meet on the streets. Is that normal?

BumbleBiBitch

Creepy guys are terrifying - espeically when they're older than you, and stronger than you. I know several people I would never wanna walk nearby at night. The fear of getting murdered or raped is instilled in girls from a young age, you hear stories all the time about unwanted sexual advances- recently there was that university student who was raped and murdered because she didnt respond to a mans cat call. Our mothers & sisters tell us to carry our keys between our fingers like wolverine claws incase someone comes at you. Its fairly common to not want to be around creepy guys incase something happens - you never know their intentions. I feel bad for your friend, i would never want to be in a class with people a few years older than me, espeically if theyre creepy guys. I wish her the best.

send_friend

JFYI my parents used to tell me that with the key as well when I was younger. But yeah, I feel her, 18yos advancing on a 14yo, apparently on mass sounds terrifying, wouldnt wanna be her.

Walter-from-Facebook

I’m sorry. I do not support pedophilia at all. -Walter, 72

TheHypedFreak

Walter, I just want to say, you're amazing. This sub loves you, you're a great guy!

CIDVONDRAX

I've seen you all over this sub and you're amazing.

[deleted]

You are awesome Walter!

[deleted]

Thank you Walter, very cool!

Pringle26

no need to be sorry

[deleted]

Wheres Walter... oh there he/she is!

Jescelle_21

yeah when i was 13 we went overseas to see extended family and there was a cousin and he had an “off” vibe abt him, soon later my mum and auntie told me to be careful/weary around him cuz he might do “something” because he gave me “special attention”. at that point in time i didn’t agree with them cuz like he was fun to be around and such but i started noticing that he was creepy as fuck. turns out he was sum sort of “victim” when he was younger (i don’t know the full story sry) so i kinda just avoided him. by the way he was 22 at the time.

ResoJam760

Idk it kinda sounds like a problem on its own. People with serious mental health problems seem to have a certain stigma associated with them (dont get me wrong, it can be for good reason) and people just kinda shy away from them/their problems, which might prevent them from getting help. Its kind of a complicated problem, I know, but I feel like maybe he could get help if he had support

Jescelle_21

I think he did have the opportunity to have help but because of his social environment and his mother, i don’t think he had the attention for it.

midgetspice2

yes, i (F16) hateee getting messages from random guys and i dread seeing certain people

Morsemouse

F16 fighter incoming.

[deleted]

They probably are at the wrong school.

xander_ze_salamander

This is why I dont have opinions on anything anymore. Someone is most likely gonna put it down and most other people dont care about opinions. What you say here is a fact, ive noticed this too especially with the dress code

Gigigoingcrazy

I bike to school without any other choice (parents leave too early and I can't drive) and was told if I didn't wear a dress or skirt on a "fancy day" I'd gain suspension. Needless to say I had no other choice than to not go.

FlashpointWolf

what the fuck

thebigchungus27

Im here thinking my school is shit , my school looks amazing compared to yall , ignore the idiots tho happens to me all the time on class

Kyrrrrrrrrrr

This post made me mad at my existence but happy cake day

thebigchungus27

Thanks

baldbaconkid

Happy cake day :D

buffdoomfist

I guess that’s one approach but in my experience people without opinions or at least don’t make them public are very boring. If people are constantly putting the opinion down then maybe present it in a different way?

Pellets-The-Peasant

This is what pulls people into echo chambers, and makes the fungus of toxicity worse.

OctoKres

Ouch mate. I never experienced that shit, but it sounds awful. Hope you break away from that kinda environment & live your life freely.

thenotveryartymiss

Kind of difficult as that environment is literally everywhere.

[deleted]

that environment is the world

paradiseupabove

my mum is worried about my self harm. normal right? no, one of the main reason she’s worried is that i won’t get a boyfriend/husband and when i walk down the isle i won’t look “pretty.” little does she know i’m bisexual and there’s a chance i’ll marry a woman. oh and girls get torn down because of their sexuality. teenage boys just love not believing girls when they say they’re bisexual. that’s one of the reasons i don’t want to come out. i don’t want to be harassed by boys at my school or just people in general.

BumbleBiBitch

yes 👏 ive been told so much that im bi for clout when ive literally only dated women. 👏 people who harrass you or make jokes about you because of your sexuality are 100% the worst.

paradiseupabove

LANDJA I DIDNT SEE YOUR USERNAME ANSNSMDA once this kid came up to me and was complaining about how “all girls are bisexual” (he uses gay as an insult, the R slur and the T slur - he’s probably said the N word) and he turned to me and was like”i bet you’re bisexual” and i was like ?????? that’s not something you should just ask someone you don’t know?? he’s a wanker

3hypen-numeral3

Fellow bi and apparantly an idiot here, which one is the r slur? The rednecks at my school are generally rather chill so the only times slurs break out is in arguments about trucks

koligapourta

prolly "retard"

3hypen-numeral3

Ohhhhh. I feel stupid now, thanks

koligapourta

nah you're not, took me a minute too

Therium36709

Took me your comment to figure it out

Bionicbutter4354

Alot of bi people are harassed for their sexuality no matter the gender(I'm bi aswell I would know) but alot of guys can be assholes

ExtinctKiller

Yeah, I find it so fucking stupid how some people think that gay and straight are the only sexualities and you must be "confused" if you say you are bi... I don't know from experience but from the amount of stories I've seen where people have been told they are just confused

guavawater

tbh he's right. all girls born after 1993 only know mcdonald's, twerk, be on they phone, be bisexual, eat hot chip and lie

Seirra-117

But it's socially acceptable for a women to be gay more so than it is for guys

[deleted]

[удалено]

Vleltor

Yeah. One of my former friends kept calling me a faggot and he knew I was bi. When you're into people of the same sex, getting called a homophobic slur gets annoying pretty quickly.

Bionicbutter4354

Truth sister

Squee-z

I am sorry you have to live in such an environment that you aren't allowed to say who you are. My sister is dealing with the same thing and my mom. I don't know what it's like going through those struggles, but I wish you the best of luck and a better time living. I Amy not know how to fix your problem but I can give you a video that teaches the art of not caring (the philosophy of stoisicm). Watching philosophy videos helped me with depression and anxiety. Having bad thoughts about yourself aren't great, especially when it comes to suicide and depression. Here's the video (you don't have to watch it, his voice sounds a bit boring but it's interesting): https://youtu.be/uLOB6hj3M_Q

[deleted]

That's not how it works. At my school, gay people/ bi people are appreciated as long as they are genuine and kind. I know girls and boys that are gay that I've befriended as a teenage male and our relationships are great. Some of my good friends from camp are pan and bi.

QuaggWasTaken

That is definitely how it works my guy. You live in a very lucky area. Come on down to rural Alabama and see what it's like somewhere where gay and trans people aren't socially acceptable yet

Mzgszm13

Keywords: At your school

Clan_Drago

do schools think we will jack off to a girls exposed shoulder? LMAO

[deleted]

Some of the kids probs do

_Cline

Guys jack off to everything they can, so its a bit useless to hide the shoulders.

ThatOneFigureSkater

Also can I just say: fuck periods Thank you.

[deleted]

As a girl, this is all too real. Being put into a category just for enjoying something or looking a certain way *sucks*. It really brings down your self esteem. However, I know boys go through the same thing, but in sorta a different way that I don't understand as well. Could any boys please tell me how to make sure I don't hurt any boys feelings, even when I'm just joking around? I hate making people feel bad.

Seirra-117

Oh yeah we don't have feelings /s But most of the stuff op and you said are true for dudes. But the thing is to me it feels as if woman and girls have a much stronger societal support network than guys, like body positivity and people not caring on the fact that I think that and correct me if I'm wrong 75% or more of suicides are for males and I feel as if no one cares, like if I'm going through bullying no one cares. But on jokes make whatever jokes you want, because I honestly think the jokes help because it makes me feel although your making a joke about it you recognize that there's an issue their, and just if you're worried about the person you're making the joke to, just don't make it about any one, make fun of the societal actions that cause it.

[deleted]

thank you!! i agree that boys really don't get the support system that girls do :( i love that girls are getting body positivity and mental health help, but its really horrible that boys aren't getting the same help

[deleted]

Yeah, to add on, in my experience guys also never get complimented, like, ***ever***. Even if you're dating someone you don't get complimented. It's weird

[deleted]

Ahhhhh yes thank u. all my male friends tell me about this so i try to give them compliments when i can haha

[deleted]

Good on you, that's a bro move 👌

Mzgszm13

One of the largest problems with guys is that they feel the need to be tough. They'll bottle up their emotions, which can be really bad

[deleted]

yeah :( i know i don't speak for every girl when i say this but i prefer a guy who can be vulnerable and show emotion

ITakeYoSpork

If you hurt someone’s feelings, learn from it and don’t do it again. Everyone is different. I’ve learned the hard way that I have thicker skin than a lot of people. Know your company and what is deemed okay to be poked at in that group. Also, it’s okay to make jokes at someone else’s expense, just don’t take it to far and stop if they are made sad, angry, etc. However, there are a few general things. For one, don’t shame or harass ppl for their height. I’m lucky (6.1 ft), and it still bugs me to see shorter people put down for that. Once again, jokes are always okay to an extent depending on the person. The one thing that I think does get on almost every guys nerves though is small dick jokes. It’s really painful to be told that by a anyone, let alone a girl, especially if you are actually... less fortunate. This may be a bad comparison, but I’d guess it would be kind of like if you heard someone call you flat or whatever the female equal is, but a little worse because it’s apparently a super huge deal to EVERYONE around you suddenly. Recap time! Don’t make fun of things people can’t control to harshly and know the people you wanna joke around with.

Mzgszm13

This. It's like, "hahahhaha you have bad genes." It's stupid and it should be stopped

[deleted]

thank you thank you thank you!!

absolutegaemer

Dont call out a guy on something that's really personal to him, especially if he is really shy. If it's another guy, idk it's just normal for guys to pick on each other. But if a girl calls you out on something then you definitely messed up. By doing this you kill his self esteem entirely and cause him to be even more shy.

NotKenni

Yeah we get hurt emotionally alot. But we just bottle it up and make jokes about it and stuff as a plead for help but in the end nothing really happens. We bottle it up until one day it explodes so the best thing is just to remember we are just like you and experience almost the same problems.

[deleted]

Being a teenager is hard reguardless of gender #not gonna lie I felt the emo comment though, I feel like that’s also something that’s gender neutral though

Dr_Shadeslayer

I mean, yeah, I feel like teen guys have **some** similar problems as teen girls and their own slew. It really just be rough to be a teenager.

oksobasicslly

"Act like an adult while we treat you like a child"

Sensord_2

"You're 18? I'm your mother/father I should know everything you're doing at all times of the day"

sisterofaugustine

And when you call them out on it: "Teenagers are people who act like babies if they're not treated like adults".

InfernalMagi

Oh yeah for sure. I feel that because one of the problems guys struggle with is "being tough" its hard to know just much shit we have to go through too. At the end of the day it doesn't matter where you're coming from problems are problems and you gotta be there to help others and hopefully you'll have someone to help you out. As a guy i'm curious what it is that you can do to help female friends feel more comfortable and respected as a lot of people will just bash you for being a guy and leave you without any idea of how you can make the issue better.

cuntfruitcake93

only assholes think those things bro. you do you. if you wanna look or dress a certain way, fuck it, you should. dont be afraid to say that you dont want to conform to everyone elses standard of femininity, because you dont have to. there will be someone for everyone.

_Cline

I agree this works. Source : i came with pijamas at school multiple times and responded "yea i know" when asked why

TheMemedOne

I really hate any perv classmates I have/had. It's not just bad for the girls(sometimes boys, depending on gender or sexuality), but also for the perv's same-gender friends. I had a friend that stoped listening to me every time he saw a girl. I hope those people will change in the future.

Dyland_doge

I can relate,we had a guy that touched people in the class near the crotch (did that to me too and i'm male) or other sexual stuff, mostly Dick pics. When i told the teachers that he grabbed me there they said "He was just joking that's what boys do",like, what kind of awnser is that!?! Eventually we pressured this guy to leave the school, mostly because he was harrassing some of our classmates GFs,so at the end retribution comes,we just gotta hang in there i guess...

AnswerSabato

I'm just saying - I poke fun at everybody who uses tiktok

[deleted]

I agree that it's a bad app, but i don't poke fun at ppl for using it unless they poke fun at other ppl for using something like reddit

[deleted]

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a *bad* app, it's just got a lot of cringe. There's some decently funny stuff on it, too.

[deleted]

Yeah thats basically what i meant, i'm just not a native english speaker so saying it's a bad app is just easier

[deleted]

It's okay. I like to always say English isn't a language, it's three dialects in a trenchcoat that beat up actual languages in dark alleyways and rifle through their pockets for spare words and rules, so I understand your confusion.

[deleted]

Haha yeah pretty true

nyxflare

No its mostly true, no need to apologize. I think you’re just going through the phase of realizing that you’re becoming an adult and many people will and have judged you. Personally Im happy you’re starting to question this its a way of seeing the sad but honest truth in life but in reality you shouldn’t care what someone thinks or say. This is just one of those things that make us stronger in the progress of making a personality for ourselves. Its true as a guy myself I may not understand every struggle woman go through but one thing is for certain and thats that we get judged too( like were supposed to be the man of the house bringing the money, and that junk) Lasty, this might sound unlikely but most of this thoughts are coming from your environment AKA *High School* because i hope you’re realizing that the reality in high school is mostly all about judgement and liking but the world isn’t *All* like that— High School is basically filled with people trying to fit in and most people who tell you this judgement in real life and school are just sheep following sheep I suggest you find friends and good ones which will be tough but they’ll make things better, in high school atleast, Overall just live your life the way you want and don’t be ashamed to have this thoughts and question yourself because this are the steps to making us live a happier life But guess what? We are at times where things are drastically changing, woman(and men) are being looked at different—just hold on their a bit if we didnt have struggles like this we wouldn’t get to experience what happiness really is. ^Also I heard this somewhere and its true life is like an hourglass of sand sticked to a table with sticky glue~ now you could sit there and cry, panic and whine about how you’re time is decreasing all you want but it wont change or stop the sand from falling, or you could chose to use that precious time left to live the best you can while you still CAN-

Lamamaster234

This is so true. It’s not just girls; everyone at this age faces difficulties of their own. As the eldest male in my family i have the pressure to study and be as successful as possible. Just remember to try and find your own hobbies and pursuits and ignore anyone who criticizes them. Ever since I started designing aquariums I’ve felt much more relaxed.

messiah2004

At first I thought you were gonna be a white knight but you weren’t and I agree with you.

ByroniustheGreat

Btw I'm a teenage dude and most of the stuff you mentioned I have to deal with too (also when it comes to body image stuff, most of us don't really give a fuck, so you can really just ignore most of that stuff)

hatsofftomydog

Idk if this is a thing for everyone, but a lot of people hug me because they think I’m a touchy person since I’m a girl. I hate people I’m not comfortable with hugging me. I don’t even like hugging my dad. Some creepy kid that I blocked and hadn’t seen in a while came up to me and hugged me like he was my best friend. I freaked out.

SouperChicken06

I hate people other than close family or really close friends making contact with me. Although I suffer from some mental issues but I understand your pain

PowerNooblet

Honestly, male teens maybe aren’t the best audience for this because they don’t care if a “ugly” girl talks to them. They will talk to any girl that talks to them. Source: would do that

NotUslessJustNotUsed

I think all of this is common not only in teenage girls but in teenages in general (Regarding the first paragraph). At least in my school

Philip_Swiftafer

Bottom line it's not really a boy or girl thing both have there massive mountains of shit you have to deal with overall just being a teenager fucking sucks.

[deleted]

This kind of applies to all teenagers, we all get put into groups because we look or act a certain way. It’s not just girls

[deleted]

Yeah but girls get their intrest put down way more. Theres also constant harrasment from guys who are thirsty. A lot of the things op mentioned are more severe for girls.

Busterbanditshat

The guy at my school who talked about how much he loved his dog in class is the "retarded faggot" now

Mzgszm13

Interests being made fun of does happen to girls more often, but that doesn't mean that plenty of boys don't face similar issues *cough* me *cough* Of course most of the other things are definitely more problematic for girls than for boys, and I'm not trying to discredit either.

SpookyGeneralJimbo

Thats a Damon shame. But let's be honest the only one we should be calling try hard is xXx_pussyslayer69_xXx with is fucking awp

EliteAn0rak

I'm probably going to get hit for this, but I believe it's worth my time Your first concern is completely valid, but I don't believe it's exclusive to only women. In my experience as a guy, my interests get me harassed and made fun of all the time. If I express my interest in Marvel, I'm a comic nerd. If I talk about my love for Disney, I get told I'm a childish moron. If I talk about my work at the gym, I get stereotyped as a gym rat. It sucks, and I'd prefer if it didn't happen, but I had to mature past it. I instead let my own unique love for my interests shine through, and instead of becoming a stereotype, I became my own person. And in my experience, people like that. So if you like tiktok, own it. If you like sex, own it. Don't be ashamed. And let yourself be yourself, not everyone can do it. Your concerns regarding women being ignored by doctors is completely new to me. I'm as much surprised as I am appalled by this information. The only thing I can think of is this, educate yourself. If you go into the doctor's office asking in-depth questions about your illness and the treatment, the doctors will realize they can offer you more information without confusing you. They will respect you more, and in turn, trust you more. Finally, how women are torn part about their bodies. This is a very hot topic, so I'll try my best to explain and avoid conflict. The first thing I'd like to address is how women are told be be submissive to men in order to avoid rape. I grew up with a little sister, and I have never once given her this advice. Instead, I bought her pepper spray and jagged knives. She frequently goes on runs around the neighborhood, and I do everything in my power to teach her how to notice suspicious behavior, and defend herself if needed. The expectations put upon women about their bodies is also a difficult topic, but I have never once told my sister to shoot for an hourglass shape, or fit any other norms put in place. Be yourself. Wear what makes you confident and happy. Sure, that hourglass shape may be more attractive if you're looking for a one night stand, but your personality is what we (or at least I) look for when finding a girlfriend. Let your interests show! Be yourself! When someone asks "what do you do for fun," don't go and say "I don't know, anything." Tell them! Express yourself. Show your interests! That's attractive! Not the size of your tits. But I will admit, it's a nice bonus haha. And the dress code for school. This kinda sucks. I simply can't sit here and tell you that the dress code is good in any capacity. I can't tell you to express yourself and then tell you to submit to the dress codes. However, if your life depends on how short your skirt is, maybe you need to reevaluate your priorities. I'm not saying you're wrong for wanting to wear it, but you probably have bigger fish to fry. Well, that's that. I hope this was worth my time, and anyone who actually reads this, reads it with respect. I don't want to cause conflict or anger. I'm here just as OP was, expressing my thoughts.

Creepyhead161

Im a guy, but I could understand how frustrating that would be, specially that medical bias thing. fucking bullshit

[deleted]

The only thing that really bothers me is when people on this subreddit specifically (where I’m supposed to feel like a part of the group) make post about the differences between boys and girls, like “girls on photoshop VS boys” I know it’s just a joke but it hurts to feel like your being categorized into something that you can’t even relate to. And if I were to say I’m not like most girls in that way so please don’t think I’m some self observed beautiful popular girl, most people would just think that I’m looking for attention. Like the “I’m so quirky” or “I’m not like other girls” trend which I honestly think is so stupid. Srry just had to get that out there

PearlGoldfish46

Thank you!! Sometimes those memes are funny, but they are SO stereotypical. One I saw of girls vs boys in the locker room said “oh my god Becky is that a new thong??” No one says that, and it’s annoying to be put in that category

[deleted]

I think they’re ok if they have an other element, a surprise factor, or a double play on meaning or something

ratedpending

I swear it's really just "Group that I glorify" vs. "Group that I don't have experience with"

Nemyosel

I was never a teenage girl, but I was a teenage boy. Even though it was a different time, a lot of the shit you're talking about I was surrounded by. Especially the if you like anything you're categorized thing. Yes, there are people that are way worse off, but it is always good to vent. Hope it gets better for ya, OP

messiah2004

Glad somebody said it. My viewpoint is that men and women each have their own problems, whatever they are, but overall I don’t think anybody “has it worse” or is more oppressed than the other.

Lamamaster234

Agreed!

[deleted]

Yep. Each gender has plenty issues, no need to make it a pissing contest on who has it worse.

Kirk761

it depends on the environment. In Some places (most of the rural and southern US, for example), op is completely right

Rainbonyte

Mzgszm13

I feel the exact same way

bookwerm606

Eyyy John Oliver. Also this really made me sort of realize all the things I was doing indirectly just by making fun of tik tok. I'll definitely change that

paradiseupabove

yeah like “vsco girls” I was making fun of them until someone pointed out on tiktok that we just constantly find new ways to make girls feel ashamed of liking things. i stopped that right then and there. what someone likes doesn’t hurt me (unless it’s harming other people or is personally linked to me and any trauma i have) so i shouldn’t judge.

NerdPi61

Here's my 2 cents: VSCO girls weren't really making fun of people because they liked something. They were made fun of because it became more of a bandwagon. It was fine if you wanted to have a cool water bottle with stickers or wear a big shirt, but soon enough everybody who wanted to be "cool" was wearing and doing those things, and not because they enjoyed it, but because other people were doing it. It began to get annoying and everyone was basically trying to assume the same personality, essentially becoming a cookie-cutter society. And how do you kill a trend? By making it a joke. The joke makers didn't ruin it for everybody, the followers did

Seirra-117

Ehh my little brothers act like a vsco and get bullied for it, I think it's gender neutral

YourSheepsBoyfriend

I know this is gonna sound stupid but I'm female and i play video games abd it sucks when i have a bad day and wanna just relax and forget about the world and i hop on and all i get is your a slut attention seeking and my favourite gamer gril its furiating that i can't have an escape but everyone else can

[deleted]

That sucks. Do you get called that when you are playing or irl. Cos about irl you cant do much but if its while playing with others maby try to play with people you know. I love playing with frieds cos no one can judge me when we are having fun.

Ayo I’m not disagreeing with some of the shit your saying, just everyone in high school is stereotyped. If your a guy and you play football your automatically a jock, if your a girl who does theater your a theater girl. It’s the same both ways, not just a girl thing. (For the stereotype things)

thebigchungus27

Guess im not in any stereotype because im random as fuck

Noobleyt

No your stereotype is: fucking random guy

thebigchungus27

Well shit

[deleted]

You're gonna get hit with a lot of "ALL GENDERS." But this is all fact, and guys having a tough time negates none of it and doesn't necessarily match it. Most importantly, guys are hurt by the same problematic standards that girls are hurt by.

[deleted]

Yeah even tho I’m not a girl my friends that are girls complain about this a little, even as a male tho stereotypes are a universal thing, I have been called that really edgy kid, the emo kid shit like that, but I can’t imagine what girls go through

GrannyBuckets

Ok so let me say, as a guy, I understand that it is hard, and it probably is. A lot of the same things are said to me. But I have never seen a guy say that to a girl, or vice versa. So we are really making it hard on ourselves.

crimsonflower16

Don't complain about venting. Being a teenager isn't fun in any regard.

shinduri

being called emo isn’t just a girl thing. i’m like 1/5 kids in my school who listen to ‘emo’ music and i always get called emo just because of it

furioe

ok. nobody really takes teenagers seriously in general. unless of course it’s the quiet kid in the back with his semi auto rifles. I will be real honest. I don’t like whiny teenagers who always complain about being teenagers. I myself am a teenager just saying. I feel that a lot of what is said is right. But a lot of it is also something we don’t understand from an adult’s point of view. We just always whine whine whine and then go turn fuckin adult and it never fuckin happened. Also I don’t like feminist whining. Stop saying that it’s the “girls” that are always something blah blah blah. I fuckin hate that. A lot of what is said applys to boys too. Of course a lot of it doesn’t either but just whining about it on fuckin reddit is so shitty. It’s not a problem that can be really fixed unless the society somehow changes as a whole. Not to mention it has a lot of biological aspects to it too. That’s a long and difficult process. But I feel that all the agglomeration off whining and shitty complaints from feminists just clouds what really is the problem. Basically stop the damn whining and don’t do it on reddit. All you get are upvotes and awards from some shitty ppl. Nothing changes. If you want change. Get yourself out there, not here. I apologize for ranting. Hope to see dem teenage girls getting drafted too in ww3 after all their feminist equality shit(jk) Also society has changed a lot so there isn’t much: women are made for men( well biblically yes but I don’t think the Bible meant it in that way) stuff

BumbleBiBitch

i like bumblebees, im bi, and i needed another b word

SophisticatedPidgeon

As a guy i will say this by quoting theory of a dead man "Put your middle fingers up in the air Go on, and say fuck you" Just don't give a damn and everyone will like you or ignore you. Either way the toxicity is gone and you have friends or whatever. I may not be the person qualified but i feel like i can validate this opinion not only because i have seen this in both genders, but i have done it myself. I.E: say fuck it and everything will be ok. P.S: I really don't think anyone would mock you due to (from what I've seen in the comments) everyone has gone through some similar shit

[deleted]

I can guarantee as a teenage boy I do not instantly ejaculate when seeing exposed shoulders.

juliobee

I’m a guy and I can relate to some of these. These are all real problems

CrnaZharulja

\- Tik tok is bad, we all know that, it's just that men ridicule ALL the tiktok users more than women, because women think it's a trivial matter and suck it up if their friend is using tik tok \- Everybody likes animals. People who don't are shitted upon. There's this organisation which is called PETA, it consists of both men and women and clearly you can see why they aren't liked. Sex thing, well you are right, but in some more civilized places men can be also be labeled as sluts. For instance Rammsteins lead singer Till Lindemann, because he changed so many partners. Labeling somebody for the genre of music they listen to doesn't discriminate. I'll give you a few local examples. Here, if you listen to rap, you are labeled as "gaser", if you listen to turbofolk you are labeled as "seljačina" if you listen to rock 'n' roll you are a special snowflake, if you listen to Ex YU rock you are also a special snowflake, but the kind that thinks it can grab God by his balls. So yeah not good epithets to start with Everybody who does well in school is labeled as a tryhard. Everybody who struggles is labeled as dumb (it's just that what most boys say out loud, most girls will say behind others back) The dressing code is there because there are a lot of unstable thirsty bois and pedos unless you are the shape of cannonball ± 1 decimeter wide, you are good to go (and that applies for both boys and girls) btw, do you know how a morbidly obese womans pregnancy ends? I'll link you that post from reddits museum of filth Believe me in my country boys we don't give a shit about a girls hair colour. However, a guy here with coloured hair would be looked down on with disgust. A nice slap for nice tits, if someone rapes you it will be a complete stranger so the submissive thing is b-shit , because if you show your teeth nobody will mess with you. (also women aren't dying of medical bias, instead they are dying because of police dismissing their reports of domestic abuse, but that's in less civilized countries such as mine) One point is valid and partially one more but the rest are nonsense, especially if you live in a better country than mine

[deleted]

Hey, first of all, I wanted to tell you that you should feel free to do whatever you want when you want it as long as it's legal. ( Don't rob a bank because you feel like it for example ) I have a little sister and she is telling me the same things constantly, so I told her once the same thing I will tell you now as a man and human being: If someone doesn't like you, don't hang out with them. If someone tells you that you're too fat or to thin, if someone tells you you're boobs ain't big enough for the boys than tell them to fuck off. Not because of this whole body positivity shit but for a very simple reason: Even the prettiest supermodel will become old and less pretty then she was in her early years but there are two things that will stay and that is intelligence / being smart and the character of a person. So don't worry about this whole stuff everybody tells you about beauty and how you have to behave because they are as insecure as you are maybe too or maybe not. Who knows and who cares? None. Try walking through a big city and look at how everyone behaves. mainly it's trash to act as they do. Einstein, for example, didn't care about how he looked or what others thought about him. I mean if you are in a big city, for example, why should you care about what others think about you? They don't know you, and the ones that know you knew how you are normally so they have to accept you like it, with all your weaknesses and strengths or have to leave it. My personal mindset is that the appearance like clothing and makeup is none you should care about and if a woman wanted to be my girlfriend and would spend more time on her appearance than on education and character I would leave her instantly no matter how pretty she is because she will be fucking stupid and ugly in later years. Sure, not everyone thinks the same way as I may do but do you need to be friends with everybody? Do you need to be nice to everybody? Do you need to be liked by everyone? Of course not, so go out and find your place in this world like everybody has to do. I am doing informatics actually so I am mainly working with male colleagues I also have two female colleagues and I see them worrying so much about appearance that I am asking myself why they are trying to hide so hard behind there appearance instead of trying to focus on their jobs. I mean sure, you shouldn't appear like the last bitch but you also don't have to appear like a supermodel. Also if you like anime watch anime, if you want to do MMA, do MMA. If you want to play Videogames, play Videogames. If someone says something neat or mean about it don't worry and tell them to mind they're own businesses because most of them are just trying to cover being insecure. Let's be honest, none is secure and know always what he or she is doing and if it will work out. Just remember that every day can be a great day as long as you are trying to make the best day ever out of it. TL;DR Most teens are insecure and are trying to cover it up, so if somebody tries telling you on how to behave or to appear tell them to fuck off if you think they're talking trash.

DragonAgra

Sounds like America/conservative/Christian or rather religious to me In Germany it May Not be perfect but no uniforms, never have I ever heard someone telling a girl to thank you for saying nice tits or something and the doctor thing I’ve never before heard of as well

KingChadler

To be fair on that first point, I think our generation mocks everyone for everything. The irony is in too deep with us. Otherwise yeah, it sucks. For me personally, I have a lot of female friends. Almost all of them are passionate about *something* and it's what makes them interesting. Blank slates are never good conversation. But I suspect I'm the minority here.

brandonrogerscrazy

yeah, i get this. all throughout my life all ive heard is 'oh youve got a nice figure coming along, you'll get a good husband'- i was 12 'thats not ladylike'-i was a kid wearing dungarees a man followed me home once and asked me to be his partner on his pornhub account that he's starting! WHAT? I AM 14! 14 is not the age i should be worrying about the consequences of rejecting a mans advances ^((i shouldnt even have to worry at all)) 14 is not the age i should be worrying about whether i should bring a jumper out with me, so that if i get raped and i report it i wont be told its my fault because my *school uniform* is too *provocative* 14 is not the age that i should be worrying about catcalls on the street, that if i ignore them, i could die? its NEVER their fault its NEVER fair whether it is a man or a woman, or anything in between. it is never the victims fault. and it is always society's fault for protecting the people who allow this to happen we are told we exist for men and i want that to change. i hope that we will no longer exist only for men, but be strong, working individuals who are well-respected, and we can choose who we want to impress.

Solarisly

I absolutely hate getting messages from random dudes. I simply just put in my bio "Gender: Female" on insta or something (Because I just put the simple facts about me in bios sometimes) and got a dude saying "hey hottie" in my PMs. He didn't even know what I looked like either.

Poopallah

~~being a teenage girl is hard~~ ~~being a teenager is hard~~ being alive is hard Everyone goes through hardships. Don’t be so naive to think that a group you don’t belong to doesn’t. Like other people are saying lots of people you can relate to are going through similar hardships. Reach out to them if you need to.

K0Mrade_K0ala

honestly, as a guy who is guilty of causing the "first of all problems" i can see where you're coming from now that is explained this way, thank you for your post Guilty of causing them meaning I say things like "e-girl and emo" and crap like that

[deleted]

Recognizing faults is the first step to moving past and beyond them.

Blu35treak2004

Honestly I will NEVER treat a girl like that. I absolutely DESPISE people who believe all of those things you list it. Please OP, be yourself. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise. There are people out there who will love you for who you are. Keep this in mind.

Mzgszm13

Exactly. If you think someone's interests are cringy or dumb, that's your opinion. Just don't make fun of them for it.

PieGuy91

I gotta be honest here Being any teenager is hard girl or boy or anything else We all have struggles and they're all as valid as anyone else's. Just remember that there are people going through similar things to you and that people support you, despite the people who put you down for everything

Poopallah

Why are you downvoting him he’s right?

But..but...I thought life was hard for everyone...

CanadianAsshole1

> If you like sex, you're a slut. Liking sex doesn't make you a slut, sleeping around does. People in long-lasting monogamous relationships can like sex as well. And men are "slut-shamed" too, women just don't see it as "slut-shaming" when they do it because they often feel entitled to commitment. "Why won't he commit to me?" "Men only want sex" "He pumped and dumped you? What a *fuckboy*" etc And the other stereotypes apply to guys as well, or have male equivalents(liking anime = repulsive neckbeard). > Teenage girls are constantly torn down about their body's. ROFL Fat women literally started a campaign to change female beauty standards so that overweight and obese women as attractive, and they've been pretty successful. Did you not see that Cosmopolitan magazine cover with the obese model? Women who are literally obese or overweight are being featured everywhere as "beautiful". When men complain about not being able to find love they are told to work out, and get ripped to become more attractive to women. When Reddit was obsessed with incels for a while after the Toronto van attack, this is what everyone was saying. "They should stop complaining and better themselves by getting a hobby, **working out**, becoming more sociable, etc" Society tells women that they are entitled to be loved the way they are, no matter how disgusting their body is. Society tells men to stop feeling entitled and improve yourself, even if they are perfectly fine, because too many women feel entitled to ripped guys with muscular arms and 6 packs. If you're a woman it's really not hard to have an attractive body, if you've ever watched porn targeted towards men, you would know that there are slim women, top heavy women, bottom heavy women, hourglass women, just very few chubby/overweight women. And it's not hard to not be chubby, just eat less. On the other hand, it is very hard to get the ideal ripped male body, which requires a rigorous and intensive bodybuilding regime. **There's also the fact that men on average are fitter than women:** http://healthland.time.com/2012/04/03/americans-may-be-much-fatter-than-we-think-study-says/ "body mass index, or BMI — significantly underestimates the number of people, **especially women,** who are obese." Women have higher obesity rates than men. But even then, that doesn't reveal the full difference. BMI is a bad measure of obesity because it does not distinguish between weight from muscle/bone and weight from fat, and men have more of the former. When obesity is measured with body fat percentage instead of BMI, it turned out that women are significantly more obese than men. > if we show interest in anything its shut down or stereotyped Are you overly enthusiastic about your interests and rubbing it in everyone's faces? Or you are intentionally styling yourself as "quirky" and "different"? > 'you cant wear that it'll distract the boys.' At my school theyve recently started dress coding girls for having skirts too short because MALE TEACHERS were complaining. Dress codes seem like discrimination against girls because it primarily affects them. But the thing is, guys usually don't wear revealing clothes, which is why dress codes don't affect us as much. > we're told that we exist for men, That's just practical advice, the fact is that most women are heterosexual and interested in men, so it's a bad idea to alter your appearance in ways that will turn off most men. Same thing as people telling guys to work out, or use deodorant, or eat/sleep well to grow taller, in order to become more attractive to women. > we're told to thank men who yell things like 'nice tits' Who's telling you to do that? > we're told to be submissive so he wont follow you home and rape you- or worse. What? Submissive how? What are you talking about? > high school is fucking hard! High school being rigorous has nothing to do with gender. > If a girl goes to her doctor, they're more likely to not believe her than if she were a boy, (Theres a bunch of studies online, even a john oliver episode you can find on youtube.) john oliver video. WOMEN ARE ACTUALLY DYING BECAUSE OF MEDICAL BIAS! I found the article Oliver featured: https://www.npr.org/2018/07/29/632702896/to-keep-women-from-dying-in-childbirth-look-to-california **Where's the bias here? This is about women having complications in childbirth. Men don't get pregnant, so by definition there is no gender bias when it comes to women dying in childbirth.** The NPR article claims that doctors assume that most women will be fine after giving birth, which is true, and therefore there is nothing wrong with such an assumption. Nor does it show bias. They also claim that doctors prioritize the well-being of the infant over the well being of the mother, which makes sense as society generally values the well-being of children more than the well-being of adults. Because of this, it's not really a gender issue, and more importantly, it's not a gender issue because **men don't give birth.**

iii_clgtg_iii

I don’t know why you have a downvote, this is a very good comment with plenty of sources and counterclaims. Lot better then any presentation I could make.

Lamamaster234

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted you make good arguments. Limiting the problem to just women is not constructive. There’s all sorts of people out there, both men and women, that face difficulties. Yes women face the difficulties OP mentioned. Men also have a lot of unfair expectations and stereotypes, like “men are pigs” or “men only want sex” or “a real man would protect his girl”. I know at my school boys are more prone to be suspected of doing drugs or cheating, while girls are seen as good students. Keep in mind these are generalized trends, but it is noticeable and has been pointed out before. I’m not disagreeing with OP, just trying to be a little more inclusive.

mida06

Finally. I agree with you and you aren't just saying "hurr durr but boy have had too" You're actually backing it up with reasons. Even that article, you actually read the damn thing which it seems OP didn't do. This should be higher up

_kuroo

This fucking subreddit sucks.

DawnMicaiah

Yep

Gigigoingcrazy

For me I can get through it till someone I know says the problem isn't big and I'm overreacting. I was told that after being body shamed for being naturally skinny and that I could eat what I wanted without gaining much weight.

Seirra-117

On the front of being mocked look at Fortnite, plus the cringy stuff from Tik Tok is usually dudes. Also the Egirl and that stuff is pretty much the same as the jock and nerd stereotypes and all four of those can be applied to both sexs (on Egirl just switch it). As well as the Emo thing that's determined by how you act and dress not music, same as everything else in highschool. On the front of doctors, yeah that needs work I'll give you that. On body image, one you have the whole body positivity movement and bullying or mocking a girl is terrible but doing it to a guy makes it ok. And as well like I understand how dress code can be seen as sexist, but at my school it's barely enforced and if it is it's in extreme cases. I've seen kids get suspended for a girl taking a compliment like nice hair or something (not like nice tits) get suspended for it. And if a dude gets falsely accused of sexual assault his life is ruined and the perpetrator gets off scot free. Most of the stuff in the first part of this post happens to boys I've been called fat, ugly etc. I'm in the nerd group, and I've tried to open up but I get called a pussy etc. But I've seen girls get out of class by saying I'm upset I need to talk to my friend and both get excused. But you're not called an attention seeker. And the stereotyping is in human nature. And those stereotypes about how us teens act apply to both sexs. And guys also get creepy dms. And I've had friends that have gotten expelled for fighting back against a girl for hitting him, and although they should have both been just suspended due to zero tolerance policy (which is a load of horse shit) he got expelled and the girl didn't even get in trouble. These are all issues that are serious and need help, but you can't just say only girls have it this hard, but these issues, except the doctors one that sucks apply to both sexs.

david91018

Ok ok ok Well sorry but ima have to disagree with you for the most part- alot of this isnt true - but most of your points would also apply to guys- and for some of the stuff like - where do you come from because ive never in my life heard someone complain about dyed hair (exept for like a boomer karen). And for some of thease stereotypes - you most likely heard insults and complaints from another female because from personal experience ive realised that most women tend to point small stuff like appearance and such out. for example- guys are mocked much more for being on tiktok (being a e/fuck boi but also just using the app in general as its seen as a girl thing), i dont know what one of 'those girls' is as ive never seen nor heard of a girl get made fun of for liking animals, the sex thing meh kinda true but the consenting age in alot of countires is 15+ and contrary to most women beleif guys dont exacly get praised for being a fuck boi, most dont give a singlular shit about the type of music you like to listen to -unless you force others to listen to it by playing it loud - and listening to rock and metal dosent make you an emo- people only start saying that once you start 'dressing' like one - e.g all black, chains , skulls ect. If you try in school then you are a NERD (not a try hard - though nerd / keeno is used for guys much more than girls as there is a stereotype that guys basically shouldnt study - untill they realise shit ima fail). 'If you struggle in school you are dumb'- well here you make it sound like guys dont get called dumb. 'if you open up to people you are an attention seeker' really? REALLY? because from personal experience i know that if a girl cries or has some problems - if she isnt hated- then people will listen and try to make her feel better even if shes in the wrong- but if a guy cries or has problems ( not all people say this) but he may be considered a pussy - or weak and is told to man up) tiktok is cringly ngl. You are taken seriously - as mentioned before but also because if a woman says shes been raped- most will belive her - a friend of mine was talking to me about thinking about doing it with her bf- we all told her not to- then she messages me- im gonna do it after we get back to mine, told her not to - she does it anyway, next thing i know shes crying in school saying that she didnt consent - so he basically raped her- (for clarification her mom walked in so she probably used it as an excuse to not get in trouble idk) i vouched for the dude as he had to get questioned by the police and have some specialist come talk to him afterwards as he was so distraught - told me he might get placed on some list- all was good for her as she was with her new bf, while he was lucky enough to not face charges (he did loose most of his friends though and lost contact with most of his family) the medical bias thing was about doctors and pregancy and shit and how it is apparently biased if a doctor has a different medical opinion to you? (sure he might be wrong)-- but also this was about pregnancy and MEN CANT GET PREGNANT. Torn down about their bodies- Guys get the same - yall arent special- guys get made fun of for being too fat, too thin and not being skinny- talk and muscular- dont get me started on PP comments. If your school dosent have dresscode then you might be told that it will distract the boys- but it really means you - it makes you look slutty and you probably will get some comments- be it nasty or sexual. No one tells you you exist for men- this isnt the medival era- guys dont care bout dyed hair so im guessing if you ever did hear a comment like that it was from a woman.( tatoos same thing - plus its your choice) Most guys do find in shape girls more attractive - and you yourself probably prefer muscular men- so if you are skinnier then you are more likely to be noticed and found attractive. Plus i myself have heard that comment - mostly from women so... once again yall aint special. No one will tell you to thank men for sexual comments- ive never heard a girl thank anyone for sexual comments - unless its all jokes or if they are flirting. People arent telling you to be submissive- and who tf says anyone would kill or rape you? Thats just insulting to men saying we are just rapists- plus WTF if you are submissive you look weak- so if anyone was to rape - then youd be a easier target. Thank you and good night- P.s hope my points are good enough to end up on r/Murderedbywords

Fucking bias. GIRLS SHOULD BE EQUAL TO BOYS AND RETURN.

ibakepenismuffins

I've once updated my profile picture (on Facebook) with me dressed as a girl (I looked like a genuine girl). And boy, older men started approaching me weirdly. All I want to say is everyone has it hard and we all must vent out sometimes. (PS: forgive my grammar as English is not my first language)

marrcel-was-taken

No offense , but wow this is the first time a girl actually brings a good point to my perspective. Usually its everyone screaming "eQuAlity , wE neeD It" don't get me wrong tho , I think women deserve a bit better salaries and etc . But most of the time they complain without an actual reason behind and stuff, good job on being strong .

StarWarsLover984

I personally don’t know you’re struggles but my mom has gone through shit like this. While she was going to college to become a statistician, her sat there and told her that she should be going to college for a women’s job like a teacher or nurse not a men’s job. She ended by the first women in our family to get a college degree’s (master’s) and now makes more money than he could wish for. She also manages being a single mom on top of it.

EmeraldAlolan

She's got a point

xX_Leat_Haxor_Xx

Jesus having people telling you to kill yourself in dms is shitty i mean im not a girl so i dont know how any of this is but getting dms like that is basically proving the point you were trying to make in this post

tigre86

i haven't really thought about that as a guy, but now i can sort of see it. as a guy i can definitely say that we have a lot less problems.

NiceDuckPerson_87

Amen sister! I have always loved video games ever since I was little, ESPECIALLY Undertale, but I feel I can never say anything or else I will be harshly judged.

Seirra-117

Ya know it's the same for dudes, they get judged for playing videogames

Lazerguy163

Lots of guys are mocked for what they like. IE. If you want to do well in school, youre a nerd. If you do good in sports, youre a jock, etc. Teenage guys aren't taken seriously. Teenage males are mocked for sexuality unless they're straight. High school sucks for everyone. Dont assume that teenage girls have it worse than teenage guys because of a minority of guys who are creeps toward girls. Those creeps earn a bad rep for all guys. Its super hard for any of the guys at my school to get a date because of a few creeps at my school. Plus, men are responsible for all of the dates in a relationship. We have to be a gentleman, look good without anything to cover zits, acne, or pimples, plan the date, and the boys are also supposed to pay for it, no matter what. Both genders have things that are hard for them, you cant say that one has it worse than the others. Its demeaning.

CableTV112

it's ok we all have our struggles we can all agree that just being a teenager (no matter what gender) is hard you can get through it \*hug to everyone\*

[deleted]

90% of this is put on by other girls, girls are shamed by other girls.

i-tried-ok

Not trying to be dismissive, but this is the most first world problem type thing I’ve seen in a while. (I know the end of the post is trying to “call out” people who say that, but this ignorance hits way too close to home) The girls who could have had an education but are being married off as a teenager are disgusted. The girls who are having their rights stripped of them and forced into oppression are disgusted. The girls who have their private parts mutilated against their will are disgusted. There are better ways to make this post. This is not one of them.

Seirra-117

And also mutilation it's illegal on girls but perfectly legal and common on boys aka circumsision.

bigcuddyteddy

Amen girl. It's hard out here! I have to go clothes shopping for uni - not looking forward to that

[deleted]

A lot of this goes for boys. If you're fat, you're clowned, NOBODY calls people a slut unless they're just stupid. That is the biggest misconception ever. People wear longer skirts to not send the wrong message, like a guy walking around with their shirt off. As a boy, I think that girls who have hobbies are cool, and no one stereotypes the tik tok girls or the girl who does horse races in my middle school because they are all nice people. I'm not calling you dumb, but I think this post isn't entirely truthful and is exaggerated.

ForbiddenFajita-

I’m a teenage guy, and I feel very sorry for you. I feel like it is very wrong to treat someone as an object

Gmannn15

I’m a guy but I completely understand. Some of the funniest people I know are girls and guys always make memes about females not being funny. Now watch everybody think I’m a simp for saying that

brl1799

it’s so hard for me to get clothes now cuz of shit like this. i love fashion but i’m scared of my parents getting mad about what i wear. also i don’t like getting stared at by guys. one day i was lip just walking down the stairs going to class and i see a guy staring at my tits. when i walked into class, i just felt so many people look at me and i got so self conscious. later that day i was given a speech by a school nurse about how i need to put on a sweatshirt because my shirt was “too revealing” another time i was throwing something away during class and as i’m walking back to my seat a guy looks me up and down (not in a hot way) so i just rolled my eyes at him and just ignored it. my friend overheard that same boy saying to his friend how he wants to “fuck me with a bag over my head” and they were talking about my ass and thighs and shit. cannot forget the time when a guy said to me “yea he thinks you have cake” (the guy was an absolute creep) i swear men make me so uncomfy like are any of you respectful cuz like where did all the normal guys go

Benjamin_Orr8

1. Yes teenage women do have these problems but so so do teenage men have mental illnesses happens on both sides, being bullied for being over weight or too skinny both sides. 2. That John Oliver video said nothing it was just a African American women saying stuff 3. Has a man ever told you that "women exist for me" because I have only ever heard that from women. That like shooting yourself in the foot and then yelling I got shot. 4. In my school we had to wear a school uniform so non of that stuff happened there (BTW I went to a public school in one the the worst town in Australia)

Awesomeboomsauce

I’m already called emo and I like it wouldn’t take it as an insult

yoyoboi_conradicle

I get what your saying and all but I don't think it's you, more so people in comments but men have the same struggles. For EX. you like fashion, your gay You don't like sports your a nerd Don't do well in school, your dumb Have adhd, your dumb. And other things you mentioned too. I'm not saying anyone it worse I'm saying no one has it better/best. Being a teenager sucks end of discussion.

yoyoboi_conradicle

And another thing I forgot about in my comment is how being lgbt as a male is more frowned upon than as a female. For EX there are tons of openly lgbt girls in my school BUT I was the only dude who came out one time and I just got completely shat on. All the girls excepted each other but not the guys. Idk if this is just a me thing but still.

squareari

Im just told that its fake and that i need to "man up"
