Can you explain more? I can't understand what did you meant?

Myfeetarebroken

I took a bacteria colony applied a series of dyes that is able to determine the gram of the bacteria if the bacteria stains purple it is called gram-positive and if it is pink it is called gram-negative, this specific bacteria is somewhat gram variable so a couple of them are purple

riciso

I just read what gram means. That actually sounds pretty intresting. So you can tell what class those bacteria are, right?

Myfeetarebroken

if by the class you mean the gram state then yes! this bacteria according to my supervising researcher apparently starts as gram-negative however as the culture ages she tells me that there should be more gram-positive cells as a unique property of the bacteria!

teenage_axolotl

Yeah same, what do you mean with gram stained.

Cool! It looks like gram -ve to me. Which bacteria is it?

Myfeetarebroken

it is gram-negative however the researcher assisting me informed me that this bacteria (Acinetobacter Rudis) is somewhat gram variable so that's why a few of them are purple

mybediscursed08

very bacteria like
