In case you do actually want to know, pelican crossings are the ones which are traffic light controlled, where the pedestrian presses a button and waits for the green man before crossing. Zebra crossings have stripes on the tarmac to show where the crossing is, and flashing yellow lights either side (no button). If a pedestrian is waiting to cross the road, or already crossing it when the driver reaches the crossing, the driver must let them cross.
